Art Bikes + Show us your Bike, by ABC on Jul 11, 2012 16:32:56 GMT 1, Thought I'd start a thread about Mountain bikes. Upload you bike porn pics, mention your rides. As for me, Iive in Kent, pretty poor for good trails, apart from Bedgebury that is. I work in Plymouth at the moment and there are plenty of good trails to ride.
My new ride. Cannondale Rush SL2 (Full carbon)
My old ride Cannondale Taurine SL2 full carbon. Fast as f**kaccross the ground, I raced a few XC duathlons on it and most had trouble keeping up with it, great climbing bike. Converted to full sus now though.

Art Bikes + Show us your Bike, by curiousgeorge on Jul 11, 2012 17:39:39 GMT 1, I don't ride anywhere close to what I was doing 12 months ago (500+ miles a week)
Mostly a retro rider myself and have stacked up 8 or so bikes and I really only need one these days for doing errands/shop runs (use a beat up marin so no one will steal it)
Nice Dale you have! My riding buddy grabbed one on ebay this week at a bargain price and is off to collect it tonight
Not a single speck of mud was seen on the pics you posted

500 miles a week on a mountain bike! Don't you have a job? That seems a bit high if you have a job or life
I have a hard enough time getting in 300k on my road / tri bike. I'm going faster and it still takes a up a big chunk of my free time.
I wish I had that kind of time to ride.

It all started off with a bet with some close friends...
Then the endorphins got kinda addictive! I did add some road tyres in my defence With front sus too so lost power through them
Worked from home so juggled work/child-care/taking care of the home duties Have a pretty decent 50 mile loop on my doorstep and then add in some errands or shop runs and it soon adds up.Wish I could sell 7 of my 8 bikes in an instant and get a decent road bike then I would really put some flat miles in!

Art Bikes + Show us your Bike, by jonti on Jul 11, 2012 19:23:11 GMT 1, 2007 Orange Clockwork Special Edition no195/200
Full of lovely Hope machined goodness too. yum.
Absolutely love this, only short travel (100mm) hardtail, but I like it as makes you move about on the bike more and look down the trail, avoid the square-edge rocks rather than the suspension take them on! Looking for a Patriot frame to build up this winter ready for next summer when I can get out more when the Boy is a bit more than 10months old!
Shot of one of the local rides for me in the Lake District. This is up at Whinlatter Forest

Thought that would come up as I type my bike is in the car caked in mud from a very muddy outing last night.

One of the blokes I ride with has a Orange 5 and it's a beast. I'm loyal to "Dale" but would love an Orange too. That's just greedy though.

Art Bikes + Show us your Bike, by fairplay1974 on Jul 12, 2012 9:21:17 GMT 1, This thread is making me weep.....The Orange 5 (from my FS thread) has been sold. Now I'm currently bike-less and forced to look at some tasty bike porn on here!
That Lapierre looks mint! One of the only bikes I wanted to demo before I bought my 5 but couldn't get one....Very nice connecta1
ABC I bet that Dale flies! I'd consider upgrading those discs so you can actually stop when needed!! ;-)
And lebdel, always good to see a Clockwork in any bike thread :-)

Any advice for better discs appreciated. Although I love my bikes, my mechanics are not on the same par.

ABC .... Without looking into it too deeply have a scour of the bike forums to see what other Rush owners have tried, brakes/discs are usually a first step upgrade on well spec'd out the box bikes if anything is needed....You'll usually find some good feedback on various set ups.

Have you thought about buying a retro bike? Circa early 90's the quality of workmanship for the money is amazing.Given so many are into these without any drama, shows at getting on for 20 years old they still ride like new. Plus you get to feel like a teenager again

I'm growing the sideburns as fast as possible to be able to get into Time Trials in honour of our new national hero
I never get out enough to do either as well as I used to... must get more disciplined!
