Rolex Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by avec art on Feb 1, 2017 21:25:49 GMT 1, can someone help me out here, and tell me what language people are speaking in this thread as I can barely understand a word being said. If a watch tells you the time correctly, that's basically enough isn't it?
...I know, I'm an ignoramus.

Rolex Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by saint on Feb 14, 2018 17:24:20 GMT 1, I'm looking for a couple of Rolex watches as gifts. I know this is excessive, but thats the way it is.
I'm based in London and can go up to 2000 GBP on the first, and I'd like if possible a bimetal oyster precision, either full size or mid, but not ladies.
2nd one budget goes to 1250 and I'm easy as to what it is, but would like an airking, and this needs to be full size.
The need to be good working condition, with papers. Box would be nice but not important.
I realise this is an art forum, but this is the only place I frequent online and I thought someone may have a lead.
Meesage me if you can help.

www.chrono24.co.uk/rolex/oyster-precision--id6960490.htm
That matches one of your requirements (you may be able to find slightly cheaper though)
there is also a private sellers search engine called watchrecon which is pretty handy
very nice gift by the way

Rolex Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by J6507G on Nov 13, 2021 6:57:13 GMT 1, Looking for a bit of advice from anyone who might have a bit of knowledge with both shanghai and rolex,, I'm currently over in shanghai working, having been here since late september and looking to buy a rolex, however as is the case worldwide I've had no luck in the AD rolex stores. But don't know where to start in the grey used market to try and compare used / secondary market prices to that of the UK. Is there anyone who has more of an idea on this that wouldn't mind sharing some insight with me please.
Love to be able to buy a piece cheaper than the ridiculous UK prices... all that being said I'm not confident because even from shanghai ADs prices are circa 1000gbp plus more expensive than UK

Rolex Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by The Silence on Jul 22, 2022 0:05:43 GMT 1, Diversification Daniel San. Wax on wax off. Rolex on, Banksy off.
To be fair Rolex keep the supply tight and the cost of production will continue to rise. Safer prob Rolex, better returns long term? Maybe be the Bankster.

I would say 6-7k in current market depending on condition and I would say thats still way more than the watch is worth. A good watch but sold by the bucket load. Last one I had I sold to watchfinder back in 2014 for 2750 after postage. I know! Crazy right. Depending on what you paid youve probably still done quite well but dont get carried away. The market is softening and there is always going to be tons of these available. 14060m two liner would have been a better bet imho. Best of luck! if you can find one for 6k. I’ll snap your arm off. Not sure if you have checked the market for a few months?
Watchfinder are selling them for 10.5k with no box or papers.

It won’t be too long before I’ll be passing on the Datejust ‘Wimbledon’ I treated myself to on retirement to my eldest son and would like to give his younger brother a Rolex as well. I suppose my budget would be around £9k
I’m based in SE London. Anything out there?

Rolex Collectors ⌚ Buy & Sell, by High Contrast on Sept 16, 2022 9:44:53 GMT 1, Yes.Yes and yes. Goes without saying really; watches, one of the biggest bubbles of last two years. The world is entering a recession! Things like these are the first to go. Dealers/collectors will keep the primo pieces but prices are at the highest they've ever been for most stuff, all got a bit silly really, has to come back to earth. Said it before and I’ll say it again.
inflated related recession - you need to get rid of your cash and put into hard assets - watches - art will rebound and will be a flight to safety.
you can just say ‘the world is going into a recession’ without any context on what said recession is based on.
yes people who are financed up to eyeballs will sell but your usual man who has spare cash will look for a hard asset to invest in.
v similar to the last ‘crash’ .. apart from interest rates are higher so houses are one less thing to invest in.
