Bitcoin, by Extra Ball on Mar 9, 2024 11:42:08 GMT 1, Is there an option to block a thread? this forum is a reflection of the world we live in! it has become a place of intolerance where it is now forbidden to write 2 pages on a subject that does not directly concern the art world. It is true that it is more interesting to debate and exchange the latest Invader stickers like pimply teenagers would do with panini pictures.
I remember that a few discussion threads were intended to post photos of his watch collection, his dogs or the progress of work on a house in a private home... I must forget some! What does this have to do with art?
This forum has become a place where art lovers have given way to people who are only here to resell things as soon as they are received and where others lecture other members on the relevance of an Israeli intervention on the Gaza Strip.
Excuse my inpertinence in talking about subjects that do not interest you, but know that sometimes some of yours are also boring to me and which means that most of the historical members of this forum have since left the place.
Have a nice day

Bitcoin, by Extra Ball on Mar 8, 2024 12:59:58 GMT 1, the trend seems to be the same. Ether March 23! 1466 euros Ether March 24: 3612 euros 146% Bitcoin March 23: 18944 euros Bitcoin March 24: 61,800 euros 226% Even if it is obvious that this remains speculation, I see a real constant in the previous halvings with identical curves

Bitcoin, by Extra Ball on Mar 8, 2024 10:19:14 GMT 1, looking for opinions on the future bitcoin halving for the month of April. The next halving is scheduled for April 24 of this year and if everything goes like the previous halvings, bitcoin and cryptos should experience a strong increase in the days that follow; I am looking for opinions on this event which takes place every 4 years and which is major in the evolution of this eco system. Little reminder: the price of bitcoin increased by 385%, over a period of 365 days before the 1st (28.11.2012) and by 8069%, over a period of 365 days after. For the second (07/09/2016), bitcoin increased by 142% over a period of 365 days before and by 284% over a period of 365 days after. For the 3rd (05/11/2020), bitcoin increased by 17% over a period of 365 days before and by 559% over a period of 365 days after. For my part, my initial investment increased by 6764% in 6 years and 3 months, so I'm very excited as this date approaches! Thank you for sharing your analysis

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by Extra Ball on Jan 25, 2024 13:08:45 GMT 1, Thank you many Extra Ball yes they are magnificent, but seeing with the numbers I don't think they are original, do you think original how much can they be worth? difficult to say because there are few references to past sales. I think that a numbered print can go for between 40K and 55K, if your print is signed with annotation, it can be beyond 85K. As you know, the general condition as well as the provenance will increase the chances of reaching the sky. without forgetting that some like the 11.23 or the 11.31 will go higher than the 11.29 or 11.25... a matter of taste.

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by Extra Ball on Jan 25, 2024 10:59:50 GMT 1, Can anyone tell me if these SBM prints numbered with black text are only legitimate? They measure 91.4cm x 91.4cm. Thanks the size of the print is good. As for the tampons, they also seem good but without the exact size it's difficult to give you a definitive opinion. For the numbering, there is a difference between the font style used at the time and yours, you can see the difference on the 2 and the 5 in particular. If it helps you, that said, superb series!

Andy Warhol ๐บ๐ธ Real or Fake? โข Sunday B. Morning Print, by Extra Ball on Jan 20, 2024 11:17:02 GMT 1, Hi everyone - what market value range would you place on a 1970 SBM/Warhol โFlowersโ (yellow) with the black stamps? I canโt find any recent sales to reference, so, thought Iโd poll the audience. Thanks in advance! SBM Flowers are in the range of 200-400. You can find the set for 1000USD A set for $1000? This is probably the blue stamp and not the black stamp... the only series recognized by AW. To answer your question, these prints are rare (250 for each series), rarely go on sale and it is therefore difficult to give you a price. The size of the stamps used on the back is essential to ensure its authenticity. I can send you examples of 3 different prints to help you (1 soup can and 2 Marylin) in private.

Banksy Cushions Gross Domestic Productโข, by Extra Ball on Nov 21, 2023 21:34:57 GMT 1, How do you know the CD is fake? Because I assisted in placing the genuine ones in record stores. Lol.
you can try to provide elements that allow you to distinguish the true from the false because this answer, apart from putting yourself forward, contributes nothing to the question you are asked.

Banksy Basquiat Print, Gross Domestic Productโข, by Extra Ball on Oct 25, 2023 17:45:59 GMT 1, anyone have thoughts on WHY values have tumbled? For my part, I think that the current situation is not designed to help the market, the war in Ukraine and more recently the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The rising cost of living also makes people think about investments such as these. All these elements create distrust when it comes to things that do not seem essential for many people, apart from of course wealthy people who do not feel impacted by these things.

Banksy Show โข Cut & Run โข Glasgow , by Extra Ball on Aug 20, 2023 16:51:02 GMT 1, Iโm kinda with you in this one. They call it gut instinct, which is based on lots of things but often has grounding on experience and knowledge. This just feels right this time. Happy to be wrong, but it just seems everything adds up to be a genuine Banksy move. Also, in agreement that if this is a hoax, this is a pretty shitty one, morally. I still can't help but feel that it's morally questionable every which way. If legit, I'm really struggling to see how it can be justified in regards to the Big Issue and their individual vendors. My gut instinct is that unless individual vendors are rewarded handsomely, which I'm not sure I can see the organisation being allowed to happen, the situation could potentially be quite damaging to some of the individuals concerned. I share this point of view. I find it very embarrassing to use these people in need to adorn themselves with any virtue.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by Extra Ball on Aug 18, 2023 14:20:44 GMT 1, One sold at Sothebyโs this afternoon for ยฃ17K Price on photo includes buyers fees
Happily let my go for ยฃ15K I must admit that these high results question me in view of past sales. It's hard not to see this as an attempt by the DH team to get its paintwork off the ground, which has been falling asleep everywhere for the past few months.
As for future values, I remain convinced that the large number of pieces and the small size will make many buyers think.

Mason Storm ๐ฌ๐ง New Print Release โข Who is Mason Storm?, by Extra Ball on Aug 18, 2023 8:11:36 GMT 1, I've seen a few people now say things like, "Well, it sure got a reaction" or "It's got people talking - isn't that what art is about?" and other similar comments. And I kinda get that, I do, but... I was in a place once, "Star Burger" I think it was called. A fast-food restaurant, if you can call such a place a restaurant. If you can't phone and reserve a table, I doubt it's a restaurant. Anyway, I was halfway through my burger, picking at it, wondering whether what I'd just found was a piece of hoof or toenail. I was hoping for hoof, when suddenly I was distracted from my culinary autopsy by raised voices coming from the counter. It was a Friday night, late, lotta drunks around, I was one of them, so I figured maybe someone was just kicking off. At the counter, some bearded gentleman had been told something that had clearly upset him, he'd said something to the staff that upset them, and now they were all upset. He was now being asked to leave, and so the bearded gentleman then told the manager where he could go. Threats back and forth, before finally the manager told someone, a character off-stage, to call the police. It was a Friday night, late, we all knew that the police would take some time to get here. In the meantime, I went back to my burger and tried to go to my happy place, ignoring the standoff between the aggressive gentleman and the two petrified-looking staff members, nervously clutching a broom and a mop each. Nobody knew what was going to happen, but we all figured that when the police finally did arrive, we would have a show. A bit of entertainment for the evening. Then the bearded gentleman started whistling. Just cheerfully whistling, like a maniac. He put his arms out, and started spinning theatrically, making sure we were all looking at him, whistling the whole time. Then he did something none of us were expecting. He stopped. Stared at the manager, right in the eyes, then he pulled down his trousers, squatted, and started to sh*t. I don't know if you've ever seen anyone sh*t before, like the actual shit come out of them, from start to finish, tip to tip, but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enema. We all froze. None of us knew what to do. What could we do? As soon as his pants were down and he squatted, it was like seeing someone arming a bomb. Sure, we could maybe try and tackle him or something, but... Ok, long story-short, a massive sh*t came out of this guy. A tremendous poo. I don't know why he'd come into this burger place on that particular night, but from the size of what came out of him, I sincerely doubt it was because he'd been short of food recently. And this thing was solid. It didn't splat or anything like that. This guy had been taking iron supplements or something. I swear I heard the floor tile crack. The bearded pooping gentleman, if we can still call him a gentleman, then stood up, DID NOT pull his pants or trousers back up, and this guy is stood near my table by the way. And now there's sh*t on the floor, AND his wang is less than 4 feet from my food. Anyway, this guy then reached down, picked up his poo, started whistling again, and then just started tossing it up in the air, like a proud father with a toddler. Up and down, up and down, up and down. We knew the police had been called, so there was no point in calling them again, but it certainly felt like things had escalated and maybe we'd like someone else called. This was years ago, before camera phones. If it happened today, it would be filmed from multiple angles and make both the news AND a tonne of money for someone. No, this wasn't being filmed, this was being burned straight into our own eyeballs. This was living in the moment. Nobody knew what was happening, sure, a few had left, slipped out the door, but the rest of us were transfixed. Some might say terrified. There was a crazy man with a poo in his hands. Then in the air. Then in his hands again. Suddenly and without warning he threw it, hitting the manager clean in the chest. I say clean, but it was not. It took a moment for the manager to register what had happened. The poo had actually bounced off his chest and had come to rest on the counter. A counter that in the coming week would not just need to be cleaned and bleached, but also removed, burned and the ground exorcised. That land would need a priest to bless it before any food could ever be served in there again. This business, as an eating establishment, was ruined. It was over. No food place can come back from this. The last time I saw a food place go down like this was when the manager of a local ice cream eatery was found dead, a bag on his head, orange in his mouth, and willy still in hand, in the walk-in freezer after a latenight asphyxiwank went tragically wrong. The manager knew that his life, the life he knew before, was over. Enraged, he came running from behind the counter and started pummelling this guy, who still very much had his wang out. Fists were flying, kicks, a loose p***s. One of the worst things I've ever seen. Some of the other customers tried to help the manager, well, wanted to help the manager, but the crazy guy had pooey hands and an unrestrained dick. Anyway, those of that saw that, it caused a reaction in us. And you can be damn sure that it got people talking. Stirred debate. But that doesn't mean it was a good thing. Or that it was art, despite what the guy later tried to claim in court. I know it's a bit of a symptom of the world we live in now, but reaction and chatter about something, doesn't necessarily mean it's good, or worthwhile, or worthy of the attention it's demanding. Sometimes it's just sh*t. And I'm not getting at anyone, this is just my opinion, and you're entitled to a different opinion, wrong or not. And this isn't even my opinion on Mason or his art, this particular release, etc, it really isn't. Good luck to him and all artists, not jazz musicians, clearly, and sure, buy whatever art speaks to your soul. But I don't want my grandchildren to grow up in a world where attention, garnered through any means at all, is believed to somehow equate to validity. I know, I know, I sound like a right party pooper. Edit: Felt preachy, might delete later. excellent. thank you for that laugh. you made my day. I'm going to pay more attention to the whistlers now.

This figure is greater than the total auction turnover this year of Invader (ยฃ402,704), Harland Miller (ยฃ377,472) and Ai Weiwei (ยฃ225,111) which is ยฃ1,005,287. it is necessary to put these values in perspective of the number of pieces sold, otherwise it means nothing

Thierry Noir ๐จ๐ต Berlin Wall โข French Street Arist , by Extra Ball on Jul 11, 2023 15:42:06 GMT 1, Broker, dealer, gallery, studio, there's plenty of recently executed works being sold, and the sales pitch is the same, they're not falling out of the sky are they. Anyway I think everyone is sick of this now, I along with many people think Noir's market is maniuplated and going to collapse (and already is), you and your mate don't, presumably because you have a vested interest, or maybe your just decent chaps trying to give people a heads up on a great opportunity. Either way you and your pal have done more to harm his market than anyone else on this thread with your conduct, I don't imagine people will be falling over themselves to add Noir to their collection if you and Pete represent his collector base. Time will tell and the market will decide, so let's park this for say 12 months and then we can see who is full of shit. I expect you'll be long gone by then though. I won't be bumping this thread further or replying to you so please kindly jog on now. Edit: There is a difference, between art, and artist and their market. If this was about his art that's a whole other story but the fact the title says Noir, Sothebys, Christies auction means you can't all of a sudden claim this is about apprecaition of his work. Do you realise your posts have already left you WIDE OPEN to a defamation claim from Noir? You have literally accused them of a scam. It really would be better for you to walk away right now, and stay away. You are playing a VERY risky game right now. I personally hope they proceed, its what you deserve at this point. I wonder how your work would respond to being made aware of this? damn, the guy is never tired?

Thierry Noir ๐จ๐ต Berlin Wall โข French Street Arist , by Extra Ball on Jul 9, 2023 17:05:41 GMT 1, I doubt the planned explosion of works by TN as some hope here. 1) This artist started painting 40 years ago, if all this were to go away, it would have happened a long time ago. 2) The fact of offering his pieces directly to auction houses by his team is not the best way to boost his notoriety. It should propose exhibitions and collaborate with influential galleries. From memory the last one was with Howard Griffin Gallery now too many years ago for the general public to be interested in it still simple advice from an old bear, old sport Now now old sport You absolutely are a dull old bear chap. The last exhibition was at Sotheby's back in November old sport. Do keep your razor sharp analysis coming. I'm talking about a gallery and not an auction house.
