Johnny Abrahams 🇺🇸 Print Release • Show News • For Sale , by maxamaxa2 on Jan 30, 2019 9:14:53 GMT 1, So...like, how do I show I'm big ballin'? Dick pic?
They have hinted about these on their instagram for months and when the presale was sent the allocated stock went fast, not sure how many was allocated and how many is left. But anyway, you do not have to be a big baller, just on the list before its sold out
Managed to nabb that top one and I am nothing more than a krill in this pond. I hope you manage to get one at the release tomorrow, otherwise they are releasing amazing prints at a steady pace!
Think the top one was a lower edition and 47x35 inch btw
Best

Felipe Pantone 🇦🇷 Exhibition News • Contemporary Art , by maxamaxa2 on Aug 30, 2018 15:19:39 GMT 1, the marc quinn prints look amazing. 2 things:(1) is there any chance to share some higher resolution closeup pics of the image? (2) i just tried to cart and checkout one of the prints and it is showing 1700 euros (not the 1500 euro preorder price) The price given was in pounds, should equal to almost 1700€. Then its tax on top of that.

Paul Kremer 🇺🇸 Minimalist • New Print Release , by maxamaxa2 on Aug 28, 2018 6:41:26 GMT 1, I know I really like them but don’t own one sadly. I was wondering what they went for on the resell.
Ah, sorry!
Have been looking for his earlier heavy weights prints but so far not seen a single one for sale. The demand for his works are rising fast but I do not think the prints are there yet so I would say quite close to cost, but you know how flippers are... His originals are amazing if you are able to get one of those.

Wade Guyton @ PRINTED MATTER, by maxamaxa2 on Jul 10, 2018 21:01:12 GMT 1, Hi, I’ve just gotten my print and trying to get it frame. But my framer says that it is way too big to get it fitted on to their rollers to mount. If hinge, will warped after sometime as it is too big. Any suggestions on how to get it framed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Grats to winning the lottery
Have a look at this www.smk.dk/en/explore-the-art/visit-the-conservator/stories-from-the-conservators/fra-rulle-til-vaeg-montering-af-kaempe-papirvaerk/
Don’t know where you are located but there are some great framers working a lot with prints that might be able to help you out.
My thought was as described, to make a cut out in the wall, hang the print in “paper clips” and then put the glass in front. Not sure how doable it is thou.

Artists You Might Not Know, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 15, 2018 19:15:07 GMT 1, Not new but I think Jaybo Monk is creating some really nice work at the moment - he’s been posting a lot of paintings of explosions on Instagram which I really like. Worth checking out if you’re not familiar with him. I cant repost his IG posts here - seems to be how he has IG set up. www.instagram.com/jaybomonk
Thanks a lot for the tip! Looks amazing, had to get an explosion

Ryan Hewett 🇿🇦 New Painting • Print Release • For Sale, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 5, 2018 19:55:53 GMT 1, hoping he releases a print at some point, OGs are slipping away from me. I remember commenting on one of his instagram posts last year saying something about releasing a print for "less wealthy" fans, and he "liked" my comment... hopefully this means something is in the work
Yeh Joe said to look out for one at @unitxshop so prob will be one there soon

Artists You Might Not Know, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 3, 2018 18:50:46 GMT 1, Also I think people need to realize that selling out a print doesn't amount to much now days, plenty of great artists don't sell out prints but sell original works of art. Also plenty of mediocre artists sell out prints but can't sell originals consistently. I could guess why this happens, most of it is that people are willing to speculate on an artist at a lower cost but not willing to really invest in an original because its cheaper to have less skin in the game. This forum alone has made print markets for mediocre artists, yet its not great at pushing original prices for those same artists. Why do you think that is?
For me its about transparency, I always know what a print will cost and can make the judgement if I can afford it or not. With originals I always have to ask and risk looking lika a fool when I realise the prices was much higher that I thought and I can’t justify it for that piece.
I hate having to ask for prices for every show where I’m interesting in a work hence I end up with more prints than originals.

Artists You Might Not Know, by maxamaxa2 on Jun 2, 2018 7:53:15 GMT 1, Think Dasher Rockwell and Sweler are worth a mention. Brendan Monroe is also making amazing works. www.instagram.com/dizashizerizockwizell www.instagram.com/sweler_art www.instagram.com/brendantheblob
Ted Pim is a little tricky, not sure what direction he will go but seems promising, need a new manager/gallery thou. www.instagram.com/tedpim
But superior artists doesn’t grow on trees, we can’t expect new once discussed here every week... there are a few solid once and they will off course get more mentioning, but there are a lot of more “fluttering” than your list 😊

ARTSY 🇺🇲 Urban Art Auctions, by maxamaxa2 on May 24, 2018 20:00:09 GMT 1, f**kARTSY, organisations like these are the reason why street art and graffiti came to be in the first place. They don't care about anything but $.
Seems good if they are the reason street art and graffiti came to be? And to be honest, thanks to the $ there are a lot of writers being able to do what they do full time. Lots sold in auctions do also render revenue to the artist, which private sales do not.

Wade Guyton @ PRINTED MATTER, by maxamaxa2 on May 21, 2018 10:05:35 GMT 1, Can you even get a sheet of plexi from a normal framer of this size? Any idea where? I’m in NYC Yes, if you want glass, Groglass got their Artglass AR 99 Protect that is shatter proof, 4mm, comes in sizes up to 88.5"x126". It will weigh a lot but easier to clean in the long run.
My thought have been to make a huge square hole/compartment in a wall (got wooden walls), hang the print in "clips" attached to wires and then flushmount the glass.
Optium Museum Acrylic goes up to 72"x120", since these are coated on both sides and a little tricky to clean I would say that it only works in a house where kids dont run around touching everything or where the whole thing wont be close to the floor (so, a massive ceiling height would be needed).
If you want to go cheaper I think you could source shatterproof glass with some uv-protection from the construction industry, its very modern with glass walls in offices these days.
Regardless, it will be costly in this dimension, framing the huge print, delivering it and mounting the beast on the wall. ..and remember that you need to fit it thru the door/window, so measure before ordering the framing
I do think this one is the best edition by him so far and will look amazing on the wall! So as long as you are prepared that it will cost you around 1k for the print and about 3k for the framing and think its fair I say Go! Good luck!

VALUATION • Art Valuation Advice, by maxamaxa2 on May 21, 2018 6:03:24 GMT 1, Hebru gets a lot of hype and eBay listings, but sales are rare. The semi older small digital prints like this one seen actual sell around 600-650
Thanks a lot! Guessed so, think it’s good cause I like it and for that value it doesn’t feel worth selling to finance another

Your latest Art Purchase?, by maxamaxa2 on May 17, 2018 14:32:33 GMT 1, Just had to change my underwear.....Also they just passed a new worldwide law. Only one GWRB is permitted per person. I'll be happy to hold onto one of yours until said law is repealed. Thanks in advance
Would say that the chances of those being legit is quite slim, and the chances of him being supportive of the very shady wcp-business is quite high It's a shame that people finance stealing and copying other artists works, but it would warm my heart if it isn't the case here.

Felipe Pantone 🇦🇷 Exhibition News • Contemporary Art , by maxamaxa2 on May 3, 2018 20:44:21 GMT 1, Mine comment is cautionary, not a do not buy signal. Diamond dust prints need to be shipped flat. You'll see that the packaging will need to be a beast for this edition. The diamond dust can start falling off when it gets tossed around during shipping. Having my art delivered from overseas, there are plenty of gorilas that handle the packagae without care or concern. If there is glassine paper cover, just hope there isnt any loose areas with the adhesive exposed that makes contact. When framing, it depends on the quality of glue and workmanship that will determine how much of the dd stays on the paper, regardless on how much care the framer takes.
...but Avant is one that I would not worry about these things over. And they use to ship in bomb proof crates like these:
