Sotheby's Art Auctions • HONG KONG 🇭🇰, by Viscount Jerkoff on Oct 6, 2020 17:44:28 GMT 1, I think the sheer size of the piece actually devalues it as there won't be many walls collectors have that will be big enough. Show Me The Monet should easily surpass this result. Keep seeing people writing this - it wont as the person buying it probably lives in a massive house. They dont live in a flat in hackney thats for sure. stop worrying about it.
Seeing it in person, there really are not many places with ceilings that high. It certainly limited the pool of buyers I think. Show me the Monet is beautiful and big and very wall friendly, i e over that to go for over £10mil.

Bonham's Pop X Culture October 8, by Viscount Jerkoff on Sept 26, 2020 4:12:47 GMT 1, isn't this the infamous trimmed/cropped signed GWRB? www.bonhams.com/auctions/26447/lot/34/edit: yes it is. the top four inches of the print have been removed. not even mentioned on the lot page.
It says COA ‘in the process of being issued’, so it doesn’t even have a.COA and it’s cropped. I guess that’s why the lie estimate, but..... I bet it still sells over £400k

Christie's Art Auctions , by Viscount Jerkoff on Sept 23, 2020 11:01:29 GMT 1, Side by side I reckon the LA morons is the nicest variant of that edition, interesting that it's lagging behind the others. I just read all the condition reports and the LA Morons is not in the best condition: 6cm vertical crease in the left margin, tape marks on the back and sold framed, maybe why it is a bit cheaper. They still say it’s in Very Good condition

I don’t think that is correct, I think the £52k includes the BP. It hammered at £35k then they added the £17k on the orice

Forum Auctions • Banksy Marketplace 🇬🇧, by Viscount Jerkoff on Sept 16, 2020 3:06:02 GMT 1, Hey Fusion0001, Keen to understand how you put the figures together a little more, as I'm sure others are as well. Its certainly seems to becoming a reference point / guide for prices at the moment. It looks like you dont apply the same percentage gain to all prints. If you look at U/S laugh now, thats jumped from 50k to 70k, even though one wasnt sold as part of the Forum Auction. Very Little Helps did sell for 56k hammer, which with cost was over 76k but is only marked at 49k. U/S WSM wasn't in the auction yesterday now up at 35k, which is more than a signed version, which was sold yesterday. I really want to believe in these figures, even though they gave me a restless night last night, I have to say I am a little skeptical atm - please dont take that as a criticism - I really want these figure to be correct or as close as can be and I think its a great resource ! But understanding a bit more behind the math might help convince me this is for real. Should I be ignoring the "Print Value (auto)" column and focus on "Print value (expert range)" instead to get a guide on value? I looked a bit into the issue and have slightly tweaked the algorithm so that it reacts faster to price moves. This has now fixed some of the issues you have observed. To summarize how the calculations on www.banksy-value.com work now: BPI is the print value index, which is calculated as value-weighted average price of all Banksy prints (always taking the last observed sales price in auction) indexed to 2008 price level equal 100. There is no extrapolation; only actual sales data. Print value (auto) is calculated as follows - If the print has been sold in last 3 months then I take the average of all sales prices over last 3 months and multiply it by how much BPI has increased over the period since last observed sale (e.g. WSM unsigned was sold for 22.5k in June and index has gone up from around 750 to around 1150, so the price for it is projected at 1150/750*22.5k=35k
- If the print has not sold in last 3 months I take single latest sales value and multiply it by index increase
Print value (expert) is a manual update that I do. It takes some days for me to run through the list and do a proper update (will do over the weekend) Hope this helps clarify. And thanks for the observation, which helped improve the estimates!
Hi Fusion, Realizing that you are in charge of the Banksy-value website, which is awesome btw. I was wondering if you would/could add Napalm: Can’t beat the feeling, Serpentine edition, B&W with hand finished blood splatter. And Dumbo. I guess Dumbo doesn’t come up very much. There is a gallery in the USA that has one listed at $1million usd, which is silly, but I would put it at £3-500k in this climate

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by Viscount Jerkoff on Mar 5, 2019 16:37:50 GMT 1, I’m loving the banter. I just have so many replies, but it’s too complicated to go through them all. Certainly I’m sensing a total lack of irony in some areas though. So quick to judge based on a symbol, beside the fact that I think Banksy would actually approve of the image and I put it on here in the vain hope that it might somehow come to his attention. Anyway, I’m just wondering if you’re criticizing putting a cheap cotton hat on a print (symbolism aside) because it was made in China, where do you think your cheap white cotton gloves were made? And how positive are you they are totally acid free? And what’s wrong with just washing your hands? Anyway, the print is for sale, I’m glad the consensus is that’ it’s a decent price because I think it is. It’s in beautiful, excellent condition despite being psychologically assaulted by a red hat. It’s life size and needs to be framed and I haven’t got room for it.
COA to follow. Not in my name though, if that even matters. I’m not the original owner so it could have been molested countless times by other hats before I got it.

Want to Buy banksy girl with balloon, by Viscount Jerkoff on Feb 13, 2019 17:21:55 GMT 1, Seriously, find a dealer and negotiate through/with them you’ll get a better result than digging around on the forum. Better the buying something essentially uncertified at auction. If you can get a good deal on here then do it, depends on how hard you want to work
