My Stencils!, by HowAboutNo on Aug 15, 2006 19:26:16 GMT 1, My own, cut months ago, but I only went to buy the paint today. Sorry that there's no originality, but I dont have a lot of that I'm afraid...more just a struggling artist, am mainly a photgrapher. Just wanted to give this a try and found out that you DONT use a scalpel to cut it (I thought it would give the sharpest cut...my finger didnt regain any feeling till a week later)
Anyway's..use a craft knife!! ;D

My Stencils!, by apeindex on Sept 14, 2006 13:07:15 GMT 1, Given the recent price rises, the early prints that I'd like are now well out of my reach, let alone the canvases. So, I decided to have a go at making my own versions. Not authentic but at least I'll have a reasonable reproduction of the image, and it's the images that I like, regardless of who has created them. Here are my attempts so far.
Laugh Now was the first I did and I think I'll go back and try again now I have practised a bit more.
Did the Monkey Detonator on two canvases.
I enjoyed doing them so much that I've had a go at doing my own. Here are the first two results. What do you reckon? Still have a problem with paint getting under the stencils but I'm getting better.
This in on a 100cm x 30 cm canvas.
This is 50cm x 40cm.
Go on then, ridicule me!

No ridicule from me! Top work Apeindix. Gotta start somewhere. And to be honest, I think your Batman one is the best out of all of them! Like monkey and bananas too - would be happy with that on my wall. Be sure to post any updates once you have done them.

My Stencils!, by mido on Sept 14, 2006 16:07:46 GMT 1, no way - they are excellent.
I feel the same way about earlier prints. the only ones i REALLY want are golf sale, laugh now, Love is in the air, have a nice day, happy choppers. But with the prices I will NEVER afford them.
maybe I should try to make my own ;D
I have said before that I would happily buy a ยฃ10 poster version (preferably via POW) if they were availbale. I like the images / idea - I'm not that fussed about it being numbered, limited, signed etc

Now you're talking, what about a rural stencil, one that upsets the country folk, anti foxhunting, or something silly like a get orf moi land stencil. ;D

My Stencils!, by corblimeylimey on Jan 2, 2007 19:14:38 GMT 1, O.K. I've got Photoshop CS2 so it might be a bit different, but lets say you've got the image to A2 in size, so you want it printing on your A4 printer in quarters.
To print part of an image Use the Rectangle Marquee tool to select the part of an image you want to print. Choose File > Print With Preview, select Print Selected Area, and click Print.
is that what you wanted to achieve?
