Pejac Show in Berlin - APNEA, by JW on Oct 15, 2021 19:31:17 GMT 1, "Pejac wants everyone to have a fair chance of acquiring a print"
Oh cool!
"Anyone keen to get his hands on a copy of The Boss should therefore first buy a lottery ticket in person at the APNEA exhibition opening and then be among the winners of the drawing."
Oh...right.

How Much Is Shredded Girl With Balloon Worth Now?, by JW on Oct 15, 2021 18:10:12 GMT 1, Meanwhile, at Sotheby's Day Auction, 2 Banksy canvasses were passed and one hammered below the low estimate. 2 of the least popular images out there passed, being Lenin and Bad Meaning Good... Keep it Real was an edition of 15, and tiny. With fees, went middle of the estimated range.
Everything is relative right?

INVADER EXCLUSIVE - October 31st, by JW on Oct 14, 2021 19:01:15 GMT 1, Funny. Either someone framed the IK13 Japan exactly like I did, back when, or that’s the one I used to own. Super curious to see where that will land. Sold it ages ago, so needless to say, that was a loooong shot of today’s prices 😅 Ha. I thought the same about the one I also sold long ago, but it turns out it's slightly different.

Bristol protests, by JW on Oct 3, 2021 17:05:53 GMT 1, i wonder if B will visit australia at this time…. do a work in protest of the draconian, authoritarian lockdowns n the arbitrary rules currently in play…. that’s what happens when u give up ur guns, like Australia did in 1996, the gov can now do anything they like, as the 2nd amendment was put in place just 4 such a purpose as when a tyrannical govern any tries 2 china or russia it’s people into submission…. now that i think about it, can Banksy even go there? they even excepting visitors from other countries currently? i bet he could sneak in somehow then do a piece, that would b awesome lol! Everything about this post is just so lame.
Australia is guilty of being a nanny state at times* in my view and I can't say they've been a global role model in how to deal with COVID (who has been?), but your gun comment is naive and ignorant.
You can own hand guns in Australia for justifiable reasons, but licensing and background checks are strict and the public are banned from owning shotguns and semi-automatic weapons. You flippantly mentioned 1996 as the year when Australia decided to "give up ur guns", but failed to acknowledge the Port Arthur massacre was that year, where 35 people died and 23 were wounded. The killer used two semi-automatic rifles. While public sentiment was already shifting in the country, this was seen as the straw that broke the camel's back for gun reform.
What would you suggest Australians do if they had the same precious Second Amendment right to bear arms as the US? "shoot the gov lol"?
Normally I'd prefer to attack the argument rather than the person, but I genuinely think you're the problem. Your views, backed up by your grammar, are juvenile at best.
Don't be a stereotype. Perhaps spend some time educating yourself rather than spouting off dumb shit on internet forums.
* Re: the nanny state comment - This article actually resonates with me - www.smh.com.au/national/sydney-appeared-in-an-amputated-form-the-view-from-hotel-quarantine-20210916-p58sbr.html As does the Clive James quote - “The problem with Australians is not that so many of them are descended from convicts, but that so many of them are descended from prison officers.”
The gun debate is a totally different story.

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by JW on Aug 29, 2021 11:55:49 GMT 1, No it’s because the ones perceived to be more rare are more easily saleable. It’s all speculators trying to make a buck Yeah, I understand that bit. But it still strikes me as odd that people have somehow convinced themselves that a one-word title is far more valuable than a 4-word title. It's like saying the letter 'Z' on your keyboard is more valuable than the letter 'A' because the letter 'Z' is not used as often. Not a fan of Scrabble then?

Damien Hirst NFT "The Currency", by JW on Aug 29, 2021 1:00:35 GMT 1, Once these last 15 sell on Heni they break 50k floor - no I don’t understand supply and demand. Please enlighten me - I’ve also said for the past 2 weeks that these would break 50k by the end of the month. I’ve also been tracking the consolidation - now, you do understand what a floor means, right? - the rules of logic don’t apply in crypto/NFTs But simply saying "if everyone just moved their offers higher, these would sell at higher prices!!!!!" is no different to someone else saying "if everyone stopped paying higher prices, the offers would move lower and we can buy them cheaper!".
No shit.
We do agree that rules and logic don't apply in crypto/NFTs, however. It really is fucking amateur hour 99.9% of the time.
But I'd rather be lucky than good, as they say.

Venturing into banksy items, by JW on Aug 17, 2021 23:16:12 GMT 1, Yeah... "At least 100,000 were printed". So you've quoted a site that can actually divide 1,000,000 by 10.
Is your definition of "in circulation" the total number that were printed, regardless of how many ended up ripped in half and stapled to COAs or stored away in boxes (excluding the ones Laz owns)?

Venturing into banksy items, by JW on Aug 17, 2021 22:49:53 GMT 1, The sloppy attention to detail on that site doesn't do your narrative any favours. It states that "Banksy admitted to forging a total of £100 million of notes".
Ahhh, no he didn't. He said "£1 million".
But anyway, no doubt plenty are in circulation, but if we take the £1 million comment at face value and also the comment that Banksy still owns most of them - can there really be 100,000 "at a minimum" out there?
Do you have a more reputable source?

New Banksy?, by JW on Aug 9, 2021 19:49:00 GMT 1, Why the need to paint banksy on it? I think there's irony in the extinguisher style tag (usually used on large buildings) sprayed on a small model.

New Banksy?, by JW on Aug 9, 2021 18:41:23 GMT 1, Isn't the child at the back a refugee, bailing water out of his sinking boat - while the other (presumably privileged) kids are up the front playing?

Banksy Copyright© & Trademark™, by JW on Jul 7, 2021 21:50:49 GMT 1, These guys are fucking zero talent, money grubbing leeches. Shame on them.
www.smh.com.au/culture/art-and-design/banksy-is-trying-to-backdoor-copyright-with-trademark-lawyer-says-20210707-p587k2.html
Banksy’s London-based company Pest Control Office Ltd applied for trademarks on the two images in July 2019, and they were accepted at the end of April 2021. However, Full Colour Black lodged its opposition in late June just before the trademarks could be registered.
The fight will now be arbitrated by IP Australia, which oversees Australian trademarks, and could be appealed to the Federal Court.
Full Colour Black considers Australia a “good potential market” for its products, he said, so they wanted to protect themselves legally from a potential Banksy trademark.

Pest Control COA • Banksy Print Authentication, by JW on Jun 22, 2021 18:35:42 GMT 1, Of course another problem might be that they doubled up on numbers when they were first produced (possibly high as a kite back in the day) and PC have realised that some numbers have already been given the COAs. Then another legitimate print comes along with the same number and they think hmmmm don’t know what to do now so let’s stay quiet…... .......or, like we've seen before, they write "A/P DN" on the print and COA.
But I know that doesn't fit your narrative.

Not sure how credible this site is, but it says it sold for £7.8k if you search for Damien Hirst. 130point.com/sales/

Damien Hirst H9 • The Virtues, by JW on Apr 22, 2021 22:23:47 GMT 1, I can’t stress enough how badly these need to be framed. The thinness/lack of width makes them seem anemic when hung up on the wall. A thick frame would make these pieces look so much stronger and have such an imposing presence when hung up. Imho they don’t look good up on the wall not framed. A thick, high gloss white frame or a maple wood of some type would look amazing. Something similar to how my Jordy Kerwick piece is framed, or a darker stain to match the branches more, would look so good. The color/stain would offset the tree well and the thickness of the frame would give the piece a strong presence. Just my 2 cents, fwiw. Really depends on the placement in my view. This one looks perfect to me:
urbanartassociation.com/post/2075689
Also, the hanging mechanism (what the hell is the proper term for that?) on the back goes all the way around which makes it float from the wall - something that isn't really picked up in the photos.
That all said, I think they would look great in a white tray frame. I just can't be arsed getting it done right now.

WCP The West Country Prince, by JW on Apr 22, 2021 20:53:25 GMT 1, I havnt seen up close, but there are a couple examples scattered throughout the thread. The main differences seem to be there colours and the WCP prints lack the tiny details (spray marks).
These images were kindly supplied by another member apologies for not remembering who. Left is real.

Banksy + Clown Skateboards, by JW on Apr 13, 2021 21:52:59 GMT 1, I almost created a separate thread but I’m keen to see if this can become the longest thread in UAA history. I suspect it’ll always be the poor relation of the Welcome Mat one but time will tell... Somehow I think it's going to struggle from here on without a certain someone taking the bait...

Why are neither this listing nor this eBay user (who is a brand new user) browsable via eBay search? This item is not showing up as sold on eBay as far as I can see. Where are you based? I don't see it on ebay UK as I don't think they were shipping here, but it is definitely there if you change to the US site.
