BREXIT and Double VAT, by Poster Bob on Dec 30, 2020 19:42:00 GMT 1, Filling out a customs form, not a big deal Sparky. It's been over four years and we're still waiting for this catastrophe you're going on about.
New customs paperwork will burden UK businesses and individuals with an additional cost of ยฃ7 billion a year to process.
It's been over four years and we're still waiting to learn of one single benefit of leaving the EU.
Still, you won... something, apparently. Get over it, brexitbob.
How did I win?

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by Poster Bob on Dec 30, 2020 19:40:06 GMT 1, Read the FAQs on the HENI website. Are you taking a piss? There is no FAQ on the HENI website. Yes, I am taking A piss. There is definitely no FAQs page on the HENI website. Not even on the bottom of the page, last row in the second column from the left. It isn't even the first result when you google "HENI FAQs". It definitely is not there. It also does not link to a number of questions, all of which are answered, one of which is "Do the editions come with a certificate of authenticity?"

Why do the Artsy listings of these say that a Certificate of Authenticity is included? Is there anything beyond the label on verso?

What extra paperwork? They'll ship it to the UK. Customs will process it. Yeah right ...when? ย UK Customs are currently advertising for 50,000 new staff to train up before the weekend! Carry on waving your tatty little flag Bob, even your very own leader (JRM) has estimated it could take up to 50 years to see a result from leaving the biggest trading block in the world (you know the one that everywhere else in the world is trying to get a deal with). ย Since him and most of us will be brown bread by then he thinks he'll get away with telling his stupid lies, unless of course it all unravels very soon and the Brexit angry mob go after him.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Poster Bob on Dec 30, 2020 1:09:57 GMT 1, I'd say he's more a cross between Cameron and Stephen Fry.
that looks a bit like a chubb version of David Cameron to the right of Nigel.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Poster Bob on Dec 30, 2020 0:56:08 GMT 1, Only if you're a remoaner. Strong and stable! Better out than in! Let the British lion roar! The the pound plummeted after the vote, again before the deal, and then recovered slightly and dropped again after the deal. Itโs currently 1.1 euros to the pound, about the lowest in history. So saying that EU art is now cheaper is self delusion at best.

Art I buy from the EU is now, on average, 15% cheaper and I have to fill out a customs form to mail something to the EU and the buyer will be charged VAT. Seems like one win and one no big deal. This makes no sense - the pound has plumetted due to the UK's act of self-destruction, so EU art is more expensive. Plus it looks like there is now more duty as well as VAT, and more paperwork. So it's lose, lose lose.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Poster Bob on Dec 29, 2020 21:13:13 GMT 1, You're talking pre-referendum. I'm talking post-referendum, pre-deal vs. post-deal.

How has your art got cheaper whilst everyone else has seen the value of the pound drop against the euro since the referendum?

So many small traders and creatives are going to drop doing business with the UK, additional taxes, carnets, visa, bureaucracy. Emerging UK bands and muralists touring Europe will be a thing of the past. Such a ridiculous move. I wonder what the first big test/collapse will be. I agree. Big, well established galleries will be ok but small independent artists based in Europe will simply start saying "sorry, no shipping to UK". ย It just wont be worth their while to have to deal with all the extra paperwork and the hassle.

Banksy Bomb Middle England Print โข 2003 , by Poster Bob on Dec 22, 2020 13:39:08 GMT 1, Good luck with the sale. Why not WhatsApp out of interest? Because then you have twenty people constantly messaging you for this, that, or the other thing and expecting immediate responses.

Banksy Bomb Middle England Print โข 2003 , by Poster Bob on Dec 22, 2020 12:39:46 GMT 1, SOLD PAYMENT PENDING AND NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
I am selling an unsigned โBomb Middle Englandโ from the edition of 500. It was previously framed. It suffered a fall, once framed, and required restoration. I paid ยฃ800 to get to this condition, and any potential buyer should purchase this under the assumption that the condition cannot be improved. There is light skinning to all four rear corners and a number of small blemishes have been repaired.
Both the print and I are in London. I can ship worldwide at the buyerโs expense. I am asking for ยฃ34,500 and offers will be accepted and I expect, most will be ignored. I feel that this asking price is in line with the recent ยฃ42k Artnet result. I am realistic regarding the condition and it will sell, so if you canโt otherwise afford an official, unsigned print with a Pest-Control-issued COA, this may be your chance. A COA was recently issued for the print (it is in hand) and it is registered under my name. I am the printโs second owner.
I do expect some pathetically low offers, which will go straight to my trash folder. In order to address this I would ask that anyone interested first message me with their email address and ask for a self-written condition report and pictures. Youโll be sent a zip via email, not WhatsApp. Once reviewed, please send me a separate message in which the subject line includes the following: offer amount in ยฃ, your location, payment method and date of payment. Include any important details worth noting in the body of the message. Please assume that non-response is due to lack of interest.
Edit: Yes, I'll consider payment plans.
Thanks

Has anyone sold with Hang-Up Gallery?, by Poster Bob on Dec 21, 2020 21:27:58 GMT 1, So they could give you ยฃ800 - commission and charge someone ยฃ4,000. Pretty normal.
I asked them if they'd like to sell an unsigned but sealed authentic Invader kit for me, they would but a lady there valued it at ยฃ800, so instead I sold it privately for about ยฃ4000 a couple of weeks later

Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by Poster Bob on Dec 21, 2020 0:04:45 GMT 1, A number of P19 prints most likely ended up in the hands of flippers, so the market may initially be flooded. Agree with your other points, disagree with this though. These were given out one at a time, meaning most people only have one. It's different than someone getting a set and selling 5 and keeping one. To get many copies, you would have had to put in many entries. Of course some did that. But anyone doing that would know the potential value, and would not be happy with only a few K profit. And from the 5 other people I know who hit, not a single one had a Richter before. They all love it and it's going on the walls. This was a home-run for Heni/Richter (save for the packaging) and made a lot of new fans. I do not think there will be any type of flooding - even after the first results come out. I do think however, this will harm P1 and P2 prices. Myself, I was looking at getting a P1 or P2 in the past. I didn't, and now have no need. I know two people who applied for these prints and had two others help them with applications. All six people were allocated prints despite any previous history with HENI. I am using that as my basis for the assumption that it would have been easy for flippers and galleries to get a hold of multiple prints, not sets. My experience with flippers is that they're after immediate profit and not interested in long-term gains, which is where the real money is.
They weren't all allocated one at a time but I assume that most people only ended up getting one. Some people were sold several up front.
I would liken the idea that these prints will harm P1 and P2 prices the same as that the Girl With Balloon APs would harm the price of the original edition of 150. I just can't see it. Very few copies of P1 and P2 have been sold publicly. They were well placed by the gallery and their sales precede the flipping hype.
I've also noticed that the P19-3 that Hicks & Stevens had listed on their Artsy page for ยฃ15,000 is now marked as sold.

Obey suspending UK orders , by Poster Bob on Dec 20, 2020 2:30:20 GMT 1, How am I triggered? #MILO
No, I used and meant comrade but let me congratulate you on your pathetic knowledge of Russian and your disgustingly myopic views on Brexit. You're right, it's definitely xenophobia and racism. It has nothing to do with an entire class, feeling left behind all over the western world. You are truly and utterly brilliant and we're so lucky to have your Champagne Socialist views here. Gerhard Richter ๐ฉ๐ช Abstract โข Contemporary Art โข New Relea, by Poster Bob on Dec 20, 2020 2:29:25 GMT 1, We don't know what they'll sell for. We do have price precedents, based on P1 and P2, but the edition sizes are different and the prints were allocated differently. Very, very few of those prints have come to auction given that there were 500 of each.
The idea that this series is worth less than P1 and P2, solely based on total volume, is incorrect. There are 1,200 P-19 prints and 1,000 P1 and P2 prints. The editions are relatively comparable. I'd say that P1 and P2 are better images than all P-19 prints. A number of P19 prints most likely ended up in the hands of flippers, so the market may initially be flooded.
The initial auction results, probably from Artnet, will be disappointing but they will improve with time and inclusion within first-tier houses. Gerhard Richter is quite old, these images are strong, and further editions are not guaranteed. Do not even think of selling until after the Spring season has established base prices.
It's sad that almost no one is discussing the benefit of Richter and Heni raising nearly ยฃ5 million for Tate.

Damien Hirst Keukenhof H 4-8 2020 for Sale, by Poster Bob on Dec 18, 2020 14:45:20 GMT 1, A friend of mine has all of the P series prints except for the exclusive ones. He has never resold anything sold to him by HENI. He was not allocated a print from H6, nor H7 nor H8 but got a P19. It's hard to say how it works.
Thanks good to know, Iโm happy for those that won. Hopefully Iโll win next year!

Damien Hirst Keukenhof H 4-8 2020 for Sale, by Poster Bob on Dec 18, 2020 9:39:17 GMT 1, They didn't email you ten times. There weren't 5-10 colors, the run wasn't 500+, they sold quickly and completed sales indicate the price has nearly doubled since release.
I have zero problem with people flipping things. Flip away. But in this case, this gallery (if that's what the site is) must have emailed me 10 times trying to sell me one. I dont recall the price but it was maybe $5000. maybe $6500.. Whatever it was I was like that's insane for a series of 75 in like 5-10 different colors too so 500+ total. Seems they didnt sell fast then and doubt they are gonna double overnight

Amoako Boafo print, by Poster Bob on Dec 17, 2020 11:38:22 GMT 1, With the exception of Figgis, I dont think those that you mentioned have nearly the complexity in their work as he does. And Figgis multiples are much closer to 6-8k. I think if you look that the relative values of their originals, its worth the roll. Besides, if he does such limited edition releases, and they sell out in seconds, that tells you something. After all, we all dont love every banksy image. Phillips' results say Figgis editions are more like $4-6k at best.
With the exception of Figgis, I dont think those that you mentioned have nearly the complexity in their work as he does. And Figgis multiples are much closer to 6-8k. Amoako Boafo print, by Poster Bob on Dec 16, 2020 22:43:13 GMT 1, The contract says they want a 5 year right of first refusal and it wont go to any auctions for 5 years. Is that typical? It's quite common. Almine Rech ask you to sign a two-year agreement.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by Poster Bob on Dec 16, 2020 19:09:41 GMT 1, Because it sold via a private sale. The seller had a thread here asking for 12,5 EUR, whatever that means.
Why would someone pull it? It was already above 12k EUR.

Damien Hirst Keukenhof H 4-8 2020 for Sale, by Poster Bob on Dec 15, 2020 20:41:39 GMT 1, Many people on this board don't know what the word means.
By this logic, we should all just bend over and take it in the ass because we can afford it. No thanks. A scam is a scam.ย How is it a scam?
