Political Graffiti/Street Artists, by Poly Mindset on Jan 19, 2019 2:29:49 GMT 1, Not mine, but this is also a debatable example in my opinion. It is obviously a political subject, but Pure Evil's Nightmare series seems to have little to do with politics overall. So the context does seem to matter. Hmmm....I beg to differ. I think there are a lot of Americans, most notably 800,000 Federal Workers shedding a tear right now over our political situation and Pure Evil's images portray IMO a great deal that we can identify with.

Circular Framing โข Round Frames, by Poly Mindset on Dec 15, 2018 19:20:49 GMT 1, Have to agree with treweman much easier and less expensive to get a circular mat with a square frame. Most frame shops can do a circular mat.

Christmas Art Sale, by Poly Mindset on Dec 10, 2018 0:13:08 GMT 1, I know this is an Urban Art Website but due to the season I thought I'd throw a little something different out there. All of these pieces have been sold out for quite a while and becoming harder to find at a decent price. Besides, they're nice to look at so relax and enjoy. All will be available plus s/h and PP.
1. Original Grinch production drawing and matching Original production Cell, both dated 1966. COA included. These are extremely hard to find. $6000 usd.
2. "If I can't find a Reindeer I'll make one instead" (after image from the original book) Ltd. Ed. Lithograph (#22/2500) very low number and again a hard one to find. COA included. $1100 usd.
3. Original Grinch production drawing (1966) and 1/1 matching cell (1996). Many of the original cells and drawings were destroyed in a warehouse fire and a separate warehouse flood. Subsequently, Some 1/1 matching cells were reproduced as they were done back in 1966 using the original production drawing as a template. The very best of these are close ups of the Grinch. COA included. $2000 usd.
4. "How the Grinch stole Christmas" Ltd. Ed.(#314/2000) Lithography. This was a celebrated copy of the record album and done as the same size as the album. COA included. $500 usd.
5. Set of three Ltd. Ed. (9500) Serigraph cells. Title cards for two included. $1200 usd for the set of three or $395 usd individually.

Chiswick โข Urban Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by Poly Mindset on Dec 5, 2018 1:40:52 GMT 1, Sounds like you're a businessman who's good at making excuses. Personally, I think the damage is done and you probably should have pulled that lot to save yourselves, the seller, and any bidder any embarrassment. Why would any buyer bid on that piece instead of going directly to the source? Unless, of course the reserve is so low that the hammer price including any fees and shipping is lower than 100 gbp's. Additionally, if you're just repeating other auction house's estimates what does that say about the depth of your references and art knowledge specially when the lead on the "Crack Down" piece was posted on this forum more than a month ago and I'm sure the four platforms weren't live back then. Sorry I'm busting your balls but sometimes balls need to be busted. It's all part of being on the Forum. So, I say Whateva.... good luck with your auction.

Chiswick โข Urban Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by Poly Mindset on Dec 5, 2018 0:22:27 GMT 1, Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm.........Isn't it kind of embarrassing for this auction house to list the Haring "Crack Down" poster and program (lot #9) as valued at 500-750 gbp when you can still buy it at Wolfgang's for 100 gbp ($130). Personally it makes me question the integrity and extent of knowledge of the people in charge of this auction house. I have never dealt with them in any way. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

UAA Exclusive "Drop" Thread , by Poly Mindset on Nov 30, 2018 19:47:48 GMT 1, Can't believe that Oldenburg sat here for over 24 hrs and nobody snagged it. Last one and it was signed by a world renowned artist. All I can say is thank you for a hot tip on a wonderful early Christmas present to myself. God, I love this forum. Awesome post pics when you get it! I was pretty tempted by that one! Came in late yesterday and as posters go, it's quite fabulous. Fairley large at 27 x 39.5 inches with a great signature at the bottom. Makes me wish I could view the original because the subtle shading and blending of colors is really nicely done. These Spoleto posters are very nice.

Faile โข Dog Prints, All Editions , by Poly Mindset on Nov 29, 2018 19:58:39 GMT 1, It think this print is vastly different than the black light dog in terms of color and print quality. We'll see what happens on the edition. Either way, this is a value. I bought 2 and I really don't buy prints anymore. Have to agree that this is a bargain even tho it's not numbered. I've always wanted a Faile Dog but never had $2k or more for an original. The blacklight version was just too much show but this version is subtle and well done. I picked up one to frame and hang as it's IMO not for the flippers (yeah right). They said my sale was complete and that I would get an email but haven't seen that yet. Has anyone gotten an email confirmation?

Secret Santa 2018 - chat thread. , by Poly Mindset on Nov 21, 2018 0:02:43 GMT 1, A lot, not all, are only interested in how much something is worth and donโt adhere to the joy of giving! Sadly, most of the classic forum members who made this a great tradition, are no longer here... Credit to Coach though for keeping the spirits high ๐๐ป Thank you mate. Thatโs kind. Don't despair Coach, this is a great tradition and I'm sure we all echo rjf76 sediments. I have to agree, if all you care about is what you are going to get, then don't put your name on the list because you're missing the point. Happy Holidays to one and all. Now open up your hearts Fuckers!!

Sotheby's Nov 15th NYC, by Poly Mindset on Oct 27, 2018 5:41:27 GMT 1, Lovin' the Jasper Johns "Coat Hanger" if you enlarge the picture you really see the depth and shading of the hanger and the illusion of it being just ever so slightly off the back round as it would be if it were hanging from a short screw. Such a simple image but so crazy good. Really demonstrates his talent and genius. Gives me a whole new appreciation for that piece. Gonna have to revisit my Telamon Edition print and see how it compares. Thanks for posting. Even at $50k-$70k it's probably a good buy, wonder what it'll hammer at?

Penny Smash and Grab ยฃ10, by Poly Mindset on Oct 18, 2018 1:24:03 GMT 1, Just my opinion but that particular piece although aesthetically pleasing is a high numbered edition (50) and is only a ten layer stencil so not the most intricate work he's done though I don't know how much that matters to collectors. Additionally, it's only three years old so not one of his really early pieces that are extremely hard to get ie: Dead On the Money (10 layer) or The Special Relationship (8 layer). There are a few penny pieces in the For Sale threads which are less than what you're asking. Unfortunately the framing to most people is a mute point and shouldn't be a factor in the price, just part of the game. My thought is you'd do better between around 500-550 gbp. Don't mean to rock your boat but this is what happens when you put it out there. I appreciate the feedback and guide. Thatโs basically where it was at a couple of years ago - it obviously hasnโt moved much price wise since then... Penny's resale like many other artist's works is limited in a sense. It's all supply and demand. Though his gallery prices/releases have gone up, resale of his pieces generally hold steady unless of course it's on one of his much earlier pieces like the two I mentioned and a few others. Even then, it would take the right collector. GLWTS

Penny Smash and Grab ยฃ10, by Poly Mindset on Oct 17, 2018 23:26:06 GMT 1, Hi guys. Iโve had quite a few PMs and no one seems to know what these are worth! I popped into a gallery earlier that seems to reckon I should get at least ยฃ700 for this... does that seem about right? Happy to be guided either way, preferably a few impartial people... happy to take advice and go from there. Thanks in advance! Just my opinion but that particular piece although aesthetically pleasing is a high numbered edition (50) and is only a ten layer stencil so not the most intricate work he's done though I don't know how much that matters to collectors.

New Eelus drop 10 Oct. , by Poly Mindset on Oct 16, 2018 0:06:56 GMT 1, I never quite got that print. Poor choice for an open edition imho. What I don't understand is artist like Pablo Delgado has been doing this stuff for years, the big back round with the tiny image so why is everyone excited with this? As the Connor Bros. say "A Lot of Fuss About F**k All" IMHO.

Donald Trump, by Poly Mindset on Sept 27, 2018 4:12:49 GMT 1, Excellent speech by Trump at the UN. As an American I say don't believe everything you hear. Fact check his so called accomplishments. More to the point, at about 20:16 he states that "We have become the largest energy producer on the face of the Earth. The United States stands ready to export our abundant affordable supply of oil, clean coal and natural gas." My question is, if we have so much (abundant affordable supply) of oil, why would we be exporting it? Why wouldn't you as our president be utilizing it to lower fuel prices right here at home, thus helping the American people? Here is the answer, it's because Trump has always and will always put profits before people, even his own. Let me tell you, He is the best liar on the planet. Go ahead Mr. Trump blame it on the OPEC nations but as far as I'm concerned you're f**king us right here at home. The sad thing is his rhetoric about patriotism is ironic. Patriotic to who, our government that could help us but chooses not to? At this point all I can do is quote Banksy "I can't believe you morons actually buy this s**t". I hope the rest of the world understands there is a great divide in this nation called America. Signed, We The People!!!

Jasper Johns ๐บ๐ธ Painter โข Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism , by Poly Mindset on Sept 27, 2018 3:35:05 GMT 1, I think I bought the last painting with two balls. Thanks OP and community for helping me understand what I was purchasing. Your very welcome! After seeing this post I went back to pick up one I was on the fence on considering they are now selling out. I poked around on the official editions page and noticed that "target" and "hands" are literally the exact same print as the signed/numbered editions. Same size, image (could be slightly different in size), technique, and paper stock. The sizing on only those two is the exact same as the official prints, both of which are ridiculously low editions. I'm not sure that makes a difference to anyone but I found it to be a very cool attribute of those two specifically. On another note, for those deciding on which one to get, IMHO the blue false start is underwhelming, but all of the flags will knock your socks off. I have not seen any of the others in person but am seriously considering one of the coat hangers after seeing that amazing frame job! If considering one of the Coat Hangers I suggest the grey one as it is much easier to see however, the black one may attract more of an abstract appreciation. Additionally, there is a Painting with Two Balls up on Ebay (not mine) with a reasonable starting bid if anyone so desires. I would buy it but I gave up on Ebay both buying and selling years ago.
