John Doe 🇬🇧 New Print Release • Street Art • For Sale, by settingson on Sept 24, 2014 13:54:22 GMT 1, I like the image but would like to see some colour in it. Would definitely look to buy if I could see the hand finished options a bit more clearly and the colourways available. Hopefully nearer the release there will be some better pictures of those editions.

Landscape Format Print, by settingson on Sept 13, 2014 21:51:14 GMT 1, I have a John Doe :Battle In Vain' on my wall and have looked at maybe buying a K Guy Paint Bomb Policia of which would both fit your landscape sizing wish. Not sure how wide the Eine 'Scary' is but cost is probably over budget although over on the Bay someone is selling an 'overrun'(?) unsigned and unnumbered copy. Bought one of his 'Hell' off him and was pleased with it for the cost. Quite new on here so not too knowledgeable but thought I would throw them in. As an afterthought there is Martin Whatson's 'Less is More' as well Got any photos of the Battle in Vain? Lovely image, been meaning to get mine framed up and never gotten round to it... starting to wonder if I ever will, so seeing a framed one might spur me on! First time attempt with Photobucket so bear with me! One of my first purchases off the forum, bought framed so I cannot take any credit but I really liked it.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by settingson on Sept 12, 2014 14:02:41 GMT 1, Retrieved mine from the Post Office and very pleased with it. Two things strike me though.... 1) It definitely looks bigger in the flesh, I need bigger walls! & 2) the pencil signature is very, very, light, maybe he needs a new pencil!

That'll teach me to try and mentally convert dollars to pounds once shipping and tax had been added! Came in a couple of beers under £400 for interested parties!

New Anthony Lister print, by settingson on Aug 29, 2014 13:35:35 GMT 1, Here they are in situ along with a few other bits
They look great. Well impressed with them as a set. I must admit that after a very expensive first few months of being a member on this forum I had contemplated letting some of the drops that I had obtained in my enthusiasm go in order to pay for some of the framing of the bigger pieces like the Eine, Snik and Sandra Chevrier that I have acquired. To be honest a few of the Lister prints were on that list as I didn't take to Stripper too much but Mini Skirt pulled me back in and seeing them displayed here I think I foresee a change of heart!

New Anthony Lister print, by settingson on Aug 29, 2014 11:14:33 GMT 1, Spookily this morning I just bought this print and then 30 seconds later a knock at the front door and the postman was stood there bearing a package originating from Australia and from a certain Mr Lister! Now that's bl##dy fast delivery I thought to myself!! It was in fact the mini-skirt print from the last drop but the coincidence of the timing has made me smile!

Me Art Monday, by settingson on Aug 29, 2014 10:51:10 GMT 1, To keep this thread going here's some stuff my son and I did this week. Of course, it's a shameless copy inspired by those stencil paintings and prints mentioned in two or three threads about some recent exhibitions/shows. I cut the stencil (as usual), my son did the spray painting on the piece in the black frame. We put some more work into the background (even though you don't see the texture 100% in this pics) and had (again) a lot of fun. That's all that counts.
Having failed on the GP drop yesterday I may just have to resort to this for my copy! lol Joking aside I thought this copy was great and although never having done any art myself I am inspired enough to make an attempt at a similar piece. With the help of a Coca Cola font generator I googled I am looking to do the names of my sons instead though. Think a surprise for Christmas is probably about my timescale as currently have no paints, stencils, etc (or skills for that matter! lol)

FS: Shepard Fairey Original, by settingson on Aug 22, 2014 15:15:50 GMT 1, Fantastic piece this, love the detail that's in it when looked at closely. Guessing it'll be beyond my funds though. Especially including the necessary house extension I would need in order to display it!

Keith Haynes - Vinyl Pop Art, by settingson on Aug 15, 2014 23:44:29 GMT 1, Visited this today thedranggallery.com/index.php/artists/keith-haynes Some fantastic pieces and really well displayed! Made from vinyl from a collection built up over years with occasionally other pop memorabilia, ie badges and sleeves used in some pieces but really well crafted and thought out. Some great touches as the cut out love hearts of vinyl were an A to Z of girls names in the song titles. All You need is Love all had 'love' in the song title and there were some great portraits, the Blondie piece was striking and The Clash 'Bankrobber' was a nifty little gun. Some brilliant Tube maps as well.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by settingson on Aug 9, 2014 10:34:51 GMT 1, Got this beauty off someone on hear, need to get down B&Q to get a ladder to put it. Can't wait to see how it looks on the wall Looks great. Was considering this one myself as have really liked the image since joining here a few months back. Saw there was a framed one available and if I hadn't spent so much recently would have gone for it as it looked a good price and it's great when you can display it immediately. I'm not too good at getting things to the framers yet but one day....

Martin Whatson En Pointe Print Release, by settingson on Aug 7, 2014 13:08:56 GMT 1, Aluminium version arrived this morning with a chinook print. Looks great in the flesh. One very happy owner!! Thanks - all aluminium's and hand finished edition of 20 had a chinook! Even more disappointed to miss out on the hand finished edition now! Was so pleased to be primed and ready on the dot for that one when that change in URL confused me completely. Would have got a mini Chinook with it as well...b#gger!

Do you collect Sculptures?, by settingson on Aug 2, 2014 14:17:38 GMT 1, 'YMCA' by a dyslexic sculptor? Na just an Asian artist mate it's pronounced differently "Ly Um Y Eh" no no offence intended Both the above comments have given me a chuckle this morning. Only have to look at the first soldier now and it makes me smile!

Martin Whatson En Pointe Framing Offer........., by settingson on Jul 31, 2014 19:41:53 GMT 1, Well, as I only managed to get the standard version and the only framed art prints I currently own were purchased direct from forum members, (very nice they are too!) I'll throw my hat in the ring and say that if there was a more straightforward option of the first 15 to confirm the framing request get the MW spacers then count me in for my first ever framing job!

Martin Whatson En Pointe Print Release, by settingson on Jul 31, 2014 15:44:26 GMT 1, Error crashed me out too but I just assumed it was everyone trying for one at the same time! Went back and forth like a madman through the pages for ages but it kept telling me across the top header that there were 'only 2/1/0 prints left' at the same time as not letting me cart anything. Patience is however a virtue and 24 minutes past 3 it carted me one! :-)

Martin Whatson En Pointe Framing Offer........., by settingson on Jul 31, 2014 14:14:33 GMT 1, Oooh, this looks tempting! Remember seeing a Sandra Chevrier you did with matching spacers and thought that was awesome! No guarantees on this though so that's a bit of a pain as was toying with the idea of going for a hand finished piece as preferred the background but can't afford that and framing at the moment so it's decision time on a standard print and try and get lucky on a custom framing job or just go for the hand finished print! Decisions, decisions!! (will probably not get either on the drop so probably shouldn't worry! lol)

Print Over Runs?, by settingson on Jul 30, 2014 13:26:40 GMT 1, Have recently seen 'over runs' of a few artists being sold on the Bay. Just wondered how frequently they happen and if they are worth purchasing as opposed to the signed and numbered run? Obviously at the end of the day you get the image and hopefully it is of the same print run. Nearly bought a Hush the other day but didn't in the end as the paper was thinner than the original run which in all fairness the seller openly answered my question. Originally assumed these were what were called the 'backdoor prints but a couple of weeks back that question got answered on a thread somewhere and it was different to what I had been assuming. I did buy one of these Eine's though and await to see what arrives! Thought for the money it was worth the gamble! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ben-Eine-Hell-Yellow-Four-Colour-Screenprint-overrun-not-signed-or-numbered/351128292969
