Anyone Want an Unsigned Morons?, by jam on Apr 3, 2007 2:26:16 GMT 1, The problem is that I have no idea how much these Morons prints really are worth. One sold on ebay for 900 quid
Not to a legitimate buyer... it was bought by someone in effort to thwart another flipper!

ยฃ9800 for barcode!, by jam on May 8, 2007 19:21:51 GMT 1, I bet almost all owners of valuable Banksy collections are very emotionally attached to their pieces - and it would take large offers for them to part with them. I'm not saying it won't happen, just don't think their will be a mad dash of people offloading.
I agree with this... I know most of the art I have simply is not for sale, regardless of price (not withstanding a totally absurd offer). I would not take 30-40% over market for some as an example, because I love them and it isn't worth the extra money for me to have to go out and replace them just to take a profit. Plus, I feel an odd relation to the pieces (like their numbers, or where/when I got them) that I have owned for a few years... like a pet or something, you just dont sell certian things!

Banksy Jack + Jill, will pay market value, by jam on Jul 4, 2007 11:29:09 GMT 1, Perhaps... but I find it highly unlikely that the other bidders, who only days before would have bid what they wanted to pay, all ended up turning down the second chance offer. As CBL mentioned, ยฃ800 was a cracking deal... but it was also a good price at ยฃ823, ยฃ863, ยฃ903 and even the final bid of ยฃ983. I don't see all these guys being valid bids one day and flaking out the next.

Banksy Jack + Jill, will pay market value, by jam on Jul 4, 2007 11:14:50 GMT 1, The last J&J to sell on ebay went for slightly under ยฃ1000, so I think the price you paid really wasn't bad considering it came from a dealer, inc VAT, mint etc, also bearing in mind the next unsigned J&J to come on to ebay will probably go for over ยฃ1000.
That was a strange auction. Unsigned Jack and Jill (320124798151) closed at ยฃ983 on June 18... then the guy sold it to another buyer on a second chance for ยฃ803 (320131523718). When you look at the bid history in the original sale there were 4 separate bidders ahead of the guy it was sold to! Have to question the validity of the bids and if there is shilling going on, or if unknown forces are attempting to inflate market prices. Precarious market...

Banksy โข Rude Copper Print โข 2003, by jam on May 18, 2007 1:23:29 GMT 1, notitle... I think you are right, it looks legit. I doubt he would volunteer picking it up in person as an option if he was up to something. I would love to have it but I have my eye on a Hirst and that will take up this months allowance... Good luck to whomever is going to have a try for this one, its a beauty!

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by jam on Jun 30, 2007 18:40:19 GMT 1, This thread is for photos only for framed GRIN REAPER prints. Rather than spending all that time looking for examples of a this print framed up... you can see and post examples in this thread! This will allow everyone on the board to have a look at what other people have done with each print to see how different mats, frames, and mountings look for each individual print. This should be a good way to save time from searching all over, plus it will give you some nice ideas for your Banksy!
Feel free to add photos of your framed example in each of the appropriate threads, there is a "Framed" thread under each print listed in the 'Banksy Limited Edition Prints' section. To keep each thread manageable and on topic, please refrain from commenting. Also, remember to resize images that may be oversized so everyone can have a proper look at your framing work!

Banksy Copyrightยฉ & Trademarkโข, by jam on May 6, 2007 5:28:25 GMT 1, Although I am not a lawyer... I am fairly certain the law is artwork created more recently than 1978 is covered automatically under copyright laws from the time the work is created through 50 years after their death. If it was created before 1978, the copyright only covers the piece for 75 years from its creation date. Another facet is if you have a piece commissioned by an artist, you own the copyright from its creation date, not the artist.

Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by jam on Apr 1, 2008 5:14:39 GMT 1, Are you for real? A legit Banksy 'product'? Get a fukking clue. Said it looks more and more like a legit Banksy product (in other words, it's well done).....I have a fukking clue friend...but thanks for your concern. I know its not a legit banksy product, but it looks good, and some people (myself included) will enjoy having one of these on my wall.......And yes, there is such a thing as legit Banksy product. I know the word 'product' sends shiver down your spine, because you must be an art purist who doesn't believe in the branding of an artist, or dislikes the idea of artists producing products, but you need to give your head a shake and wake up to the reality.....this is art world is more a business world than anything else. Thats why Banksy is copyrighting his name. So why dont you get a fukking clue and shove it up your mom's birth canal have a good night friend
Congrats Morrissey1... that's officially the dumbest post I have read on this forum in quite some time.
"Said it looks more and more like a legit Banksy product (in other words, it's well done)" - its a stolen image printed on a clock and claimed to be designed by Banksy, how is that well done?

Do you honestly think Banksy is in it for the money/business?
"Thats why Banksy is copyrighting his name." - Or, perhaps its to keep thieves from taking images and profiteering on them by selling clocks and album covers. Could also be to protect his artwork itself. Have a minute or two of thought before you spout off a bunch of s**t fella... it will get you farther in life.
"So why dont you get a fukking clue and shove it up your mom's birth canal" - Out of line on a level even beyond what I thought was possible after reading all the other s**t you wrote above... but it seems to also affirm my impression of you from the 'pearls of wisdom' I've seen you excrete.

Kitchen clock by Banksy?!, by jam on Apr 1, 2008 4:09:40 GMT 1, I hear he is coming out with his own line of home decor along with this clock.
Glad to see so many people 'get' and appreciate what Banksy is saying with his art and don't just follow the sheep to buy shit like this to perpetuate the problem and commercialize something that is meant to say more than 'here is a opportunity to make a few quid' by knocking up a clock, album, or whatever else you can with the phrase or image that pays.

micallef, british museum, urban art collectors , by jam on Mar 29, 2008 23:00:55 GMT 1, I think its all about a fickle market overdriven by flippers. I have been buying up Micallef prints over the past couple months at massive discounts compared to last summers prices, very happy about that! I am sure todays prices will look like a distant dream of bargains come fall. There will also be less and less on the market over time as only true fans will have his work, rather than people out to make profit. I am looking forward to seeing new work too... the tour should be a cracking display!
