Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 31, 2018 9:56:10 GMT 1, Was in London from Aug. 25-27. Stopped by Serpentine to view the Christo and Jean-Claude exhibit as well as have a look at the H4s on display. I thought the Hirst looked quite nice on the wall, and I remain pleased with my decision to purchase a Cannizaro. I enjoyed seeing the Mastaba but found the development exhibit a little less enthralling than other Christo exhibits of that sort. Personal preference. Stopped at the Tate Edit shop on the 28th to look at the H5s, which are also quite appealing to the eye. I had a brief chat with a TE employee, who said offers would start being distributed in the very near future. Also went to Newport Street Gallery to see the True Colors exhibit, which was very enjoyable. I'd post some photos, but it seems like a waste of time. Most people here seem more interested in buffonery and oneupmanship. Just wanted to add one last dash of substance before I drop out forever. See you in the funny pages. Cheers I agree with you on the Christo exhibition. It only comes alive when you view it in conjunction with the floating sculpture in Hyde park.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 29, 2018 22:53:03 GMT 1, I know quite a few people who were not offered one. My favorite part of this thread is the attempt to devalue the work by everyone. I bought a print, and I would have bought another if I was given the chance. I'm not trying to devalue it; but every single person I know- that registered for H4, even one who was waaay late to the party- was offered their pick. I was the only one to go through with the purchase. Now I understand there are a few people here that were skipped over and I apologize that my facts are not correct and I apologize for making a statement without verified information. Thats was my experience too.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 29, 2018 22:35:41 GMT 1, Agreed. What one did you get? Andromeda. I originally got it because it was just so different from the other ones and I liked the name but looking at pictures I think the texture on it could be the best. You? I've got San Souci. I went to the Serpentine to look at them when it was first announced. Andromeda looks really good....San Souci was better though! haha

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 29, 2018 22:24:22 GMT 1, Really that many! I'm glad to have got one tbh. Value doesn't come into for me. I really like them. I like them too. The pictures make them look a lot better than I thought theyโd look. Knowing that they could be really valuable doesnโt hurt either though Agreed. What one did you get?

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 29, 2018 21:48:22 GMT 1, I know at least 7 or 8 people that didnโt. And thatโs saying a lot because I donโt know a lot of people. Maybe the people you know are just cooler than the people I know. Really that many! I'm glad to have got one tbh. Value doesn't come into for me. I really like them.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 29, 2018 21:31:17 GMT 1, On what basis can you make the statement "most everyone was eventually offered a print"? Who gave you verified information on the number of applications and number of prints sold? I know quite a few people who were not offered one. My favorite part of this thread is the attempt to devalue the work by everyone. everyone I know got one.

Come on Giclee Robert! You canโt judge a whole culture like that. I donโt hate all Rock n Roll because of your mate Shakin Stevens.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 25, 2018 10:43:45 GMT 1, it is interesting that Hirst is using a metal background instead of archival paper or something like that... Big question: what is the better looking print in this edition? - the small spots. medium spots or large spots? Nas - Ether:

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 24, 2018 23:30:13 GMT 1, the thing that kinda bugs me is that these are editions of 100 not 55 or 35 etc... and these are giclee prints and not wood cuts... perhaps that makes a huge difference on why these prints are priced much lower than traditional Hirst spot prints. So will these pop up in price or lag behind Hirst traditional spot prints? Any thoughts? Well, they are certainly priced attractively...IMO below what they will be worth. What hirst prints sell for below ยฃ2700 to this scale and appearance? When you look at a piece of art on a wall sometimes the technique doesnโt come into it vs the image. Letโs ask it another way...would you rather have a giclee Nola or have a screen print of golf sale ? It all depends what woodcut Golf sale.

Interesting article: 5 Essential Tips for Collecting Prints, by blerd on Aug 24, 2018 23:27:55 GMT 1, That was an interesting read, thanks. I loved the bit about how value is added by complexity of the print making, scarcity and subject. Made me think if the current Manifold Harland Miller Tonight.

Pejac Dran now sold shrigley Brantley added, by blerd on Aug 23, 2018 10:17:52 GMT 1, Very sorry to hear this. Indeed long membership or many stars don't mean anything. Also unsure why you would pay by bank if he would drop them of 2 days later. Cash payment would have been possible then. Why he would refund you now and not deliver the art purchased? Or give you the opportunity to pick it up if he is not able to bring it for some reason. Since you are both in UK, I would say a Police report is the next step. You have his name and bank account#, whats app messages etc. Make screenshots of everything you have. There might be members on here who have sold to Mash and have his adress. I have quoted his posts for you, because when he deletes them they are gone otherwiseโฆ.. Hope this turns out as big misunderstanding, but I'm afraid it's not. Thanks for the advice. Well as it happens, I've just heard from Mash. We are going to sort this out. Seems to be a case of him just being crazy busy. It's a shame it had to come to me making this post, I really didn't want to make it public. All it would have taken was a quick phone call or message to let me know what was happening. I apologise to him for making this post, but I think he can see from my perspective why I did. As long as we can sort it out, all good. Well done, thats good news. Post some pics when you hang them.

Pejac Dran now sold shrigley Brantley added, by blerd on Aug 23, 2018 9:53:48 GMT 1, Gutted to hear this. Unfortunately time spent and stars mean didley squat on here. I've learnt my lesson the hard way. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt, but I feel like I've been more than patient now and there's no excuse for just ignoring me. I've had good experiences buying on here, but all face to face. I'd get legal advice if I were you.

Pejac Dran now sold shrigley Brantley added, by blerd on Aug 23, 2018 9:39:25 GMT 1, Well this deal has gone badly wrong. I thought someone who has been on here as long as him could be trusted but guess that was my first mistake. My 2nd mistake was paying the whole amount by bank transfer, was trying to do a quick deal and he was meant to delivery the pieces personally 2 days later. More than 6 weeks later I've waited in twice for deliveries that didn't happen and last contact was last Friday when he said he'd send my money back this Monday. That didn't happen and he's now he has been ignoring my messages and calls all week even though I see him online on Whatsapp. Would appreciate advice please, what are my options here? If anyone would rather discuss in private please send me a PM. Thanks, JT Gutted to hear this. Unfortunately time spent and stars mean didley squat on here.

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 22, 2018 22:11:51 GMT 1, And the plot thickens .............. Spoke to some half asleep blase dim witted staff member at Heni Editions today who refused to divulge her name or that of anyone else involved in the H5 release. The employees seemed to be top secret FFS ?? She claimed that all offers have already gone out through the Tate and that it is completely sold out and if you haven't heard already then too bad, sold out, missed out, adios. When I pointed out that the Tate are even now still taking registrations she replied "Impossible!!!" .... She clearly had no idea what was going on within the building. And so I then contacted the Tate ..... They chased Heni today for an update on successful buyers and asked should they continue taking registration orders? Heni informed them that the successful buyers list was on its way and that yes they should continue to take orders. When the time comes Tate are sending out emails stating either you're successful or not. That way everyone is kept informed not just the chosen few. Possibly over the weekend I was informed ?? Methinks Heni will continue to ask for buyers even if it's sold out as it's all about increased database profiling. Wow! This Art world continues to blow my mind! Crazy! Ha

Damien Hirst H4 โข Veils, by blerd on Aug 22, 2018 11:44:37 GMT 1, They said "within 2 weeks" which means by this Friday but I'm having a feeling that it is going to take longer than that. And, as they said "within" I thought they would have sent out at least a few e-mails by now as I doubt they are going to send out all 800 e-mails at the same time...or are they? I bet you Lithograph Robert has had his.
