Your latest Art Purchase?, by k2 on Aug 15, 2017 11:25:06 GMT 1, Thanks, what were the price ranges? They're all lovely. $1250 - $1850 ish... Worth mentioning that those prices were Australian rather than US dollars.

My recent works and experiments , by k2 on Aug 14, 2017 22:17:18 GMT 1, I like this (and your other illustrations) quite a lot. Not sure of the proper terminology, but I really like the vertical hatching marks that you make. Thanks for sharing

Sold - thanks for the harassment. Dumpster fire. , by k2 on Aug 14, 2017 21:28:02 GMT 1, It's not even that. The platform is set up so there are minimal consequences for withdrawing from a sale. The only recourse on the buyer's end is to leave negative feedback, which they have done. Perhaps if it was a higher dollar value item, they could attempt to sue the seller for not honouring the contract, but I'm not sure how successful such a suit would be. Comparing to Bonhams or the like doesn't make any sense, as they take possession of the item for the auction, so it would be impossible to withdraw your item after a poor result without facing some kind of strict financial penalty, or enforcement of the contracted sale. its just an integrity thing i guess
Absolutely. The seller should have had the decency to shill bid the auction up to a price he would be happy with, just like everyone else seems to. This just seems lazy

SOLD!!, by k2 on Aug 12, 2017 21:31:05 GMT 1, Just to clarify my part in this saga, my transaction was fraudulent, I did not bid for them on eBay. EBay and PayPal both agreed that it was a fraudulent transaction. They returned my money straight away. On a more personal level I'm not a big fan of invader, also I'm on hoilday at the moment and wouldn't dream of spending ยฃ50k while sitting on a beach in SW France! So someone hacked your eBay account and just happened to use your account to bid on an item that had been discussed on this forum.
Quite the coincidence, no?

Your latest Art Purchase?, by k2 on Aug 11, 2017 14:35:27 GMT 1, I really like this one, Coach.
A friend of mine has a number of Dilka Bear pieces, including some really lovely drawings on old music paper, but I think yours is the nicest one that I've seen. I don't tend to be drawn to art featuring images of women for some reason, but this one has really stuck with me.

WCP The West Country Prince, by k2 on Aug 3, 2017 20:20:44 GMT 1, You started your comment with "if that were true" referring to an earlier post. That earlier post asserted he was selling them for personal gain. Your comment was therefore more than merely wondering why he sold them cheaply. Yes, if it's for personal gain, again my question was why don't they charge more?
Why else would he be doing it, other than for personal gain? Benevolence?
I bet he's not even a real Prince!

WCP The West Country Prince, by k2 on Aug 3, 2017 19:05:29 GMT 1, The link also features the relevant quote: "You're welcome to download whatever you wish from this site for personal use.... " He is not trying to pass his prints off as authentic or official and specifically addresses that in the listing and on the physical print itself, so it would lead one to think he is not doing what Banksy has deemed bad and very wrong.... WCP is not printing them for personal use, he is printing them for personal gain.

Is Banksy Robert Del Naja?, by k2 on Aug 3, 2017 13:00:12 GMT 1, It's just not banksy, no amount of speculation or hype will make it that 3D is banksy. Other than investment purposes, I ant see any reason to keep this going Couldn't the same be said for the exact opposite. Other than inverstement purposes I can't see any reason to stop this going. I've seen no one post anything speculating banksy is someone else yet. Besides that one photo of a guy holding a stencil what other proof is there that it's someone else? Do you see any similarities in the artistic output of 3D and Banksy? Forgetting whether they have the same nose, similar accents, similar travel patterns at times, is there anything you see in the work of either artist that makes you think they are the same person?
(To avoid any confusion, I'm not offering this as proof of any kind)

NEW JR EDITION COMING SOON @ LAZINC., by k2 on Aug 1, 2017 17:47:13 GMT 1, Without passing judgement on the relative value of different artists, the Pejac release sold out in seconds. The JR prints are still very much available. I like Pejac's "clever" paintings, but to compare the two is silly... As I said, I wasn't comparing or passing judgement on the relative worth of different artists, merely pointing out that if the Pejac print was overpriced at release and represented poor value for money, it would not have sold out the way it did.
For what it's worth, I happen to think both releases are somewhat disappointing. The CV (or lack of) of the artist has no bearing on that for me, I'm not entirely sure what point you were trying to make.

NEW JR EDITION COMING SOON @ LAZINC., by k2 on Aug 1, 2017 17:24:46 GMT 1, ยฃ615 for what is most likely a Giclee. Rediculous pricing if so, is there any info on printing technique? At least the large social-animal editions are printed at idem so can somewhat justify the higher pricing. Whereas a 1000euros for a Pejac, edition of 80 signed poster, from a relatively unknown, uberhyped artist, is fair value for money? Without passing judgement on the relative value of different artists, the Pejac release sold out in seconds. The JR prints are still very much available.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by k2 on Jul 27, 2017 17:10:31 GMT 1, That is awesome - Roa I assume. Did you buy direct? Yeah it's Roa, from his show at Backwoods Gallery last year. I bought it direct from them, and they were fantastic to deal with - very patient as it took me a while to raise the funds, and then held it for me for over a month while we were away. To be honest I've never bought anything from a gallery before, but they were brilliant.
They do have other work from that show still available, if anyone is interested, although I think this was the last work on paper.

Art On A Postcard, by k2 on Jul 24, 2017 15:56:57 GMT 1, 3 of the prints went to the 1st 10 tickets which were given to people queuing, they must be well chuffed congrats I think that people queueing were given the last 10 tickets, not the first 10 tickets. I bought a ticket this weekend and received an automatic order number of 71X. I then received an email saying that this order number had been allocated to one of the queuers, and they gave me a new order number of 72X.
So unfortunately I don't think any of the queuers were lucky winners.

The-Art-Form Magazine ๐, by k2 on Jul 23, 2017 0:24:40 GMT 1, Not necessarily my favourite female artist, but I'm particularly drawn to Rhoda K Baker's 3D paperscapes - www.rhodakbaker.co.uk/paperscapes - I find them strangely affecting in person.

They aren't the full size prints, they're something different entirely. He is being very careful with his wording in the description.

My huge sale thread (Invader, Dran, Dolk, Eelus, Zevs etc.), by k2 on Jul 21, 2017 14:10:43 GMT 1, Account couldn't have been hijacked because I bought from him in the past and he used the same PayPal account. We can scratch that one off the list.
Presumably if you paid by PayPal, you should be able to file a dispute and get your money back in the event that no artwork arrives.

WANTED โข What Art are you Searching for?, by k2 on Jul 18, 2017 9:55:39 GMT 1, Looking for Luke Chueh prints, PM me please You've probably seen, but 1xrun have several. In fact as I write this, some are only available for the next 21 minutes (although they'll obviously be available again...)
It seems like most weekends they send out discount codes for their archived prints, so might be worth waiting until the next discounted period.

Stik Print, Canvas, WANTED, by k2 on Jul 15, 2017 23:23:25 GMT 1, Does anyone have a spare Stik book poster in the teal colour? I believe these are from the US edition of the book.
Folded and unsigned is more than fine - my brother wants one for his daughter's bedroom, condition not an issue.
Can swap for the equivalent in red, or lovely cold hard cash.
Thank you in advance!

WCP The West Country Prince, by k2 on Jul 14, 2017 16:35:31 GMT 1, Yes, but here the canvases were by Banksy. The WCP prints aren't. To the buyer the canvases weren't by banksy. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand.
Banksy was choosing to present *his own* artwork as fake as some kind of experiment / stunt / statement / whatever.
WCP is deliberately recreating Banksy images as closely as possible in order to profit. He isn't re-interpreting the images, or using Banksy images as the basis for new work.

Harland Miller , by k2 on Jun 16, 2017 21:33:34 GMT 1, I think the cost alone of the older pioneers art means money has to be part of the consideration. ยฃ10,000+ on a piece of art is serious, so it can't be compared to buying a banksy / invader back in the day for ยฃ150. It's a fair point Russ. And I appreciate you engaging in such a way. I was merely expressing a regret. I was not suggesting that I am right and anyone else is wrong. That's hardly my place. However, the net effect is that I have pretty much given up posting on the artists you might not know thread, because people seemed much more interested in the price check threads. Lots of others have given up posting pictures of street art and graff. I find that a crying shame. The London street art thread in particular was fabulous.
Please do continue posting more artists in that thread if you can face it. It's the best thing about this place for me, and multiple times I've ended up staying up half the night having followed one of your links, then exploring off from there.

Theresa May seeks General Election, by k2 on Jun 9, 2017 19:17:04 GMT 1, oh dear, such a shame ha ha ha. Corbyns time is coming. No more bullshit about unelectable, no more bullshit about him not being supported, no more possibility of his MP's stabbing him in the back, a new proper version of labour. No more ability for the media to play the fear card as their ammunition just got shown for the bollox it always was. Hope has prevailed over the hate of the Tory, and its now only a matter of time and another election before Corbyn is where he would be today but for all the media bias, lies and manipulation of truths (or as its better known, some rich wankers hijacking your democracy). one small step in the right direction and the end of the nasty party for at least a few parliamentary terms. all the next few weeks are is a dull decay of control and the rise of infighting and backstabbing the Tory party are so well known for. Looking forward to it, should be a good show.
I look forward to the backstabbing 'refuse to serve' members of the PLP trying to crawl their way back into favour, now that they realise that Corbyn is here to stay. I suspect many of them will have been expecting to have been calling for his head this morning and are now backtracking.
Chuka Umunna was particularly slimey on the coverage last night.

Theresa May seeks General Election, by k2 on Jun 9, 2017 17:21:33 GMT 1, Anyone in a Conservative constituency should contact their MP to oppose this propsed 'deal' with the DUP.
(Unless of course you're an anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, climate change denier - in which case you're probably quite happy with the news).
Just another disgusting example of the Tories putting their party before the country.
