Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Nov 10, 2007 17:26:55 GMT 1, he just did it as a bit of a thing to do, i.e. not commissioned or anything. he wasn't 'famous' at the time, so people moaned about it making a mess!
drscachet, I hope you don't mind me asking, but as I find these pieces fascinating, how did you acquire them?
Were they given to you? if so, was it by Banksy himself? or did you purchase them?
It's interesting to see original one off pieces, and I'd love to know the story behind them.

Picked my Bomb Hugger up today from the framers after getting it re-framed professionaly from the Nielsen I bought it in originally. I'm really pleased with it. ;D
Thanks for all the suggestions (and chat about the Tour de France?!!!) in my "How should I re-frame my Bomb Hugger?" thread a while back
Cheers, Dan

Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Jan 13, 2007 17:40:02 GMT 1, thats great and everything but this should be on the Micallef forum, Im not trying to be some sort of internet police men but it would help Silky get the other forums off the ground.
I wasnt aware there was a Micallef forum - Im only a member of this here Banksy forum.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Jan 13, 2007 16:47:26 GMT 1, Not a Banksy, obviously - But picked my Judgement Day up from the framers this morning. Let me tell you, it was fun carrying that back to the car park - its Huge! acted like a wind sail and had me being pulled along the road struggling to hold onto it.

When I get Flags on the wall, my Bomb Hugger re-framed and Judgement Day framed and also on the wall - I'll post some pics of me hanging em in my 'hanging prints outfit' which differs entirely from the now infamous 'photography outfit' which seems to cause such a ripple of excitement throughout the forum.(String Vest, Black Cape, Red tartan kilt, Metallic pixie boots and 'peek a boo' 70's style Spiderman Y Fronts.
But in answer to your question - pics ARE available on my paysite-

Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Dec 22, 2006 2:08:43 GMT 1, danv - congrats on the print and nice framing. did you photgraph that in the nude?
What a strange question.
If you must know I photographed it dressed as I normally dress for taking photos.
Wearing a crotchless Elvis Presley style jumpsuit sans underwear - The Neighbours opposite love it.
Of course Im not in the nude - what do you think I am so kind of deviant? Don't answer that.
Im wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Call me strange, but I like to do my photographing clothed.
Am I nude? is that a Deep Fat Fryer? is the print that boring? lol

Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Dec 20, 2006 16:51:07 GMT 1, how do you post pictures? I have GWB canvas that I had covered in an arcrylic box. Looks cool.
upload your pics to a website like www.photobucket.com (Its free - just need to setup an account)
When you've uploaded a pic onto photobucket - there's boxes at the bottom under each pic giving you links you can cut and paste directly into your post on this forum (The one you want starts IMG and ends /IMG)
So upload to Photobucket, Make a post here - cut and paste your link in - and Bobs your uncle.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by danvnuk on Nov 27, 2006 10:37:34 GMT 1, Yeah - be nice to actually have it somewhere where I can see it - I'll post some better pics when I've got it hanging up. Looks great, and yes, please do!! You've got only one print, but it's a relatively early work, which I'm sure quite a lot of us are thoroughly impressed with nonetheless Nice!!
Thanks
I love it - the pictures of any of these prints just dont do them justice, it looks fantastic up close in real life.
Only thing is I bought it already framed from Tom Tom a few years ago - Its a Neilsen frame (I opened the frame up for the first time recently just to check its ok - it Is ) - but Im starting to think it needs to be properly framed to ensure it stays in good condition.
Can anyone recommend a framers in Essex?

My one and only Banksy Screenprint. (and the way prices are nowadays - it'll probably stay that way unless I luck out in the next POW Lottery lol)
Currently waiting to move into my new place, so its not hanging up and spends most of its time wrapped in Bubblewrap and print side facing a wall in the spare room
