Berkeley auction march 7 (Banksy, Haring, Indiana, Warhol, e, by silvermyn on Mar 7, 2021 9:57:54 GMT 1, This appears to be a newly formed auction “scam” house... Apparently with headquarters here in London, but has no physical address, they are using a virtual office with mailbox handling - like a ‘shell’. They are not registered on Companies House. Despite being based in London - prices are in Euros. Majority of items are clear fakes Their website speaks for itself... - if you want to end up with photocopies of images please carry on. Stay well clear.
The descriptions for the CYWs have "after" immediately after the title description. It's not very clear at all but the auction house would probably rely on it if there was any dispute.
There is a COA but they have not stated who issued the COA. Unless it is a Pest Control COA it is not worth the paper it is printed on.
If these were genuine Banksy prints then I would be astonished that the auction house failed to provide the necessary clarity in the description, or that the seller has let it proceed with such a poor description. These definitely smell whiffy.

Banksy's on eBay • Real or Fake?, by silvermyn on Mar 5, 2021 10:21:12 GMT 1, Is this legit? I messaged them "Thanks for your interest, if you check christie's auctions these prints were sold without Pest control COA, it has POW blind stamp and edition number please see the attached pics" www.ebay.ca/itm/254888465818The font and spacing on the blindstamp is all wrong.
The blind stamp was also in a very strange position. Away from the edge and in toward the image. Definately dodgy.
There was another dodgy Love Rat up for auction in France a couple of months ago. Might be the same one?

Faile Ceramics release at Studio Cromie, by silvermyn on Mar 4, 2021 14:36:15 GMT 1, Small plates €800 each, large plates €1600 each.
Wonder how much the vases will be then. My guess would be around the €5k mark

Banksy Game Changer Print, by silvermyn on Feb 27, 2021 19:23:35 GMT 1, The original which was donated to the hospital is no longer on display and I believe will be sent to auction.
Or it's been put in a store room where it will sit for the next 30 years, will be forgotten about, and then eventually thrown in a skip by a well meaning janitor :/

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Feb 12, 2021 19:10:00 GMT 1, In 2011 I lost my job but still had a mortgage to pay. It was quite scary as I was 38 at the time and I'd never been out of work. I knew I couldn't get another job in my field quickly (had been trying already for about a year) and that I couldn't make it for more than 6 months on my savings. I made the difficult decision to sell a few prints and go back to uni to do a masters. I then retrained over two years (on minimum wage) and landed the job I always wanted. During that time I also met my wife. So I may have ended up on a blacklist for selling, if there is such a thing. I always meant to buy back what I'd sold but prices ran away. I will forever be grateful to POW and Banksy for giving me a safety net in some really affordable art. Without it, I would have been in huge trouble. It does, however, irk me a little to see these so called VIPs getting multiple sets of GDP works. I don't think they appreciate how much of a life saver high value items are to "regular" folks. Anyway, I lost some Banksys but I kept my home, gained a new career, a wife and we have two kids now. I also managed to hold on to my favourite print so it wasn't a complete loss. I will, no doubt, have to part with it one day as the kids grow up but for now it's a great reminder of how I got through a really difficult period. I'm not sure how things would have turned out for me if it wasn't for the generosity of Banksy and the POW team. It is greatly appreciated. As for the OP, GLWS but please put some of the proceeds towards a good cause too. It will make a difference. Respect to this. I am genuinely thrilled to have read this post.
Thanks runit, and thank you to everyone that liked the original post.

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Feb 12, 2021 16:55:26 GMT 1, Vip are rewarded multiples as they adhere to the limits imposed, if not they would not be given the opportunity to purchase multiples ? Better offloading to previous clients that follow requests? If too many sell before hand the market would be flooded and prices not achieved that their pr team had projected To be honest more discussion is on banksys prices than the artistic content
I don't think that limits [on editioned prints] were imposed, prior to Sale Ends V2. Maybe I missed some of the small print from the earlier releases...?

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Feb 12, 2021 16:40:38 GMT 1, How do people become "VIP"? What is so "VIP" about some of these people who then flip the work they have been given exclusive access to? Mr B surely knows whos flipping his work pretty quickly for a massive profit... I bet there are plenty of people on here who probably deserve the VIP status far more. Pest Control can't control every sale but they can see who has COA in their name and never sold a print. This way they can see who is selling what. Said that I think anybody in a difficult time and with a print stick on the wall that it is valued big money had the right to sell it. What I do not understand is people that had access to a private sell directly from PC selling just after few month that is totally unrespectfully.

Banksy Catalogue Raisonné, by silvermyn on Jan 30, 2021 18:56:33 GMT 1, Seen so many weird and wonderful variations of his prints over the years I reckon it would be significantly more difficult than people think.
Spot on Winter. I'm aware of at least one variation within a main edition, never mind all the variations in the APs.

Brexit, by silvermyn on Jan 1, 2021 11:36:47 GMT 1,
You really appreciate it on a map like this. Without Scotland and Wales, England is so small when compared to our European neighbours.
Getting smaller and less significant in the world as the years roll on by.

Banksy Cushions Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Dec 24, 2020 23:20:35 GMT 1, What was your former username here? You might as well ask me what my former password was. I don't know that either. Hence the new account. I bought a Peter Blake 'I Love You' (Chuck Berry) from a guy near Ipswich in about 2014. That has ben my interaction with this place. I'm sorry that my arrival on Christmas Eve strikes people as odd. It struck me as odd that the Banksy Cushions arrived on Christmas Eve too but I didn't berate the DPD man and demand his life story. Also, I think the cushions will come with a COA. One was mentioned in my emails from GDP. You should have quizzed the flip out of that DPD man...

Banksy Rat Clock, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Dec 24, 2020 20:08:31 GMT 1, Or the t-shirt as an actual t-shirt. I don't think krsone thought it through before posting.
Except nobody wipes their feet on a clock (welcome mat) or sits on a clock (cushions) or wears a clock (t-shirt).
It's quite literally a ready to hang, ready framed artwork.
Still, each to their own and all that shit...
Flys still land and sh1t on clocks, don't they? Clocks are still affected by condensation, steam, smoke and dust aren't they? An ball accidentally thrown at a clock could crack the glass, couldn't it?
It's like the flipping twilight zone on here sometimes. The guy's taking good care of a valuable item. It's the responsible thing to do. Why would anyone be even remotely critical of that approach?

Banksy Rat Clock, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Dec 24, 2020 19:11:46 GMT 1, So, would you use the cushions as cushions? Risk having it end up covered in stains and pet hair? The clock is no longer a clock, it's an incredibly value piece of art. Protecting it in this way is the responsible thing to do. Remember, we are all merely custodians of the art we own. Some are good custodians, others not so. would you frame a cushion? You want to make it about value, i make it about it being clock with a picture on it. Custodians? Who am I looking after it for? I own the art I buy and do whatever I like with it.
Is a Bugatti Type 57 just a car...? Would you keep it parked on the street when you could afford to put it in a heated garage? Maybe you would but you absolutely should not.
Merry Christmas.

Banksy Rat Clock, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Dec 24, 2020 12:01:59 GMT 1, Not sure I would have framed a clock, the image is behind glass/perspex already, nice pick up though, This is the item I went for. Agreed its a clock, use it as a........clock.

Banksy Rat Clock, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Dec 24, 2020 11:35:10 GMT 1, Which is exactly what simply changing the stock Huygens glass for UV protective glass would do.
Banksy's singular input to the piece is the clock face, which is the only part that requires conservation.
What part of that are you finding it so challenging to comprehend?
I believe you’re struggling to comprehend that I want to keep the clock (in its entirety - body, face, arms, back) original. Changing any component would then make it non-original. Simple.
Agreed. The clock is the piece of art, not just the clock face. It should be preserved in the condition it left the studio.
Anywho, if you replace the stock glass you could be replacing a piece of the clock that Banksy touched, sneezed on or otherwise breathed upon. Could you live with that? Think about the lost DNA for a moment...

Banksy Goldfish, by silvermyn on Dec 22, 2020 16:20:04 GMT 1, Yeah, important case for contract law. Carbolic lost big time despite coming up with every piece of BS they could think of. The good old case of Carhill v Carbolic Smoke Company 1893, as heard in the Court of Appeal, the difference here was that the plaintiff had purchased the smoke balls and contracted flu which the manufacturers claimed it protected you from or you would get a reward of £100 (about £13k today). When the Defendants refused to pay it was claimed to be Sales Puff etc. Slightly different from the situation with Gold Fish!
What, is it A Level law lectures on here today?
I didn’t bring up the case. It's Carlill in any event, not Carhill.
Back to the bowl of fish now please.

Banksy Goldfish, by silvermyn on Dec 22, 2020 14:20:26 GMT 1, The issue is one of publishing misleading information. All the products were meant to be available to the public via a lottery/competition question. Some, but not all, limited edition prints and relatively lower valued items (mugs, T-shirts, cushions etc) have been allocated to members of the public via the lottery. The higher valued editioned originals appear to have been sold to mates, VIPs or existing customers only, contrary to the terms of the "so called" draw IMHO. The fact that there was no chance of winning the Goldfish Bowl or Tony Tiger wasn't made clear on the GDP site. A lot of people who followed the entry rules, myself included, wasted their single entry on an item that simply wasn't going to be allocated to a member of the public. No matter, life goes on. A lucky few (members of the public) did get a life changing prize, and the wealthy (VIPs and existing customers) keep on getting wealthier. I suppose high networth collectors don't need to sell so Banksy's art doesn't end up flooding the market. That has to be a good thing for both owners and the artist. Just remember if there is another draw in the future with a single entry per household and you want a chance of winning (however remote), it's probably best to target a lower value item. This takes me back many years to my law studies and the case of Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Co

This takes me back many years to my law studies and the case of Carlill v Carbolic Smoke Ball Co Yeah, important case for contract law. Carbolic lost big time despite coming up with every piece of BS they could think of.

Banksy Goldfish, by silvermyn on Dec 22, 2020 12:35:03 GMT 1, Can you elaborate on your sources / background ? How do you know that fish bowl and Tony couldn’t be won by normal member of the public ? Really looking forward for your answer... They were allocated long before GDP went live. You'll have to trawl the first quarter of the GDP thread to see someone's Instagram with a Tony Tiger win well ahead of the draw taking place. Anyway, use some common sense. Do you really think that some potential flipper is going to be allocated an editioned original worth potentially north of £1m... ? It's nice to imagine that would happen but it's not realistic. There are "friends" who are more deserving of Banksy's larger works than Freddie the Flipper.

Banksy Goldfish, by silvermyn on Dec 22, 2020 11:56:38 GMT 1, I understand Banksy needing to keep his team happy, but I wonder how against trading standards GDP is acting. Surely you cannot run operate a retail business that's full of false information and back handed selling? I suspect GDP have broken quite a few rules under UK trading standards, which are normally pretty tough.
The issue is one of publishing misleading information.

KAWS Print for Sale, by silvermyn on Nov 30, 2020 21:59:10 GMT 1, welcome to the forum - do tell us about yourself. Oh you want £30,000 - well sure we'll have a whip around. A bargain to be sure It’s USD not £, you muppet
Personally, I like the no nonsense approach to selling. Each to their own. Not a big fan of KAWS unfortunately :/

Forum Auctions • Banksy Marketplace 🇬🇧, by silvermyn on Nov 24, 2020 22:25:27 GMT 1, I asked in 2016 if there was any other versions of donuts ever done, as at that time was compiling a list of all print variants and artist proofs, they flat out lied to me and said "No, we only ever did the 2 regular editions of Donuts".... But they told me all the other variants of prints so my list has been wrong for the last 4 years..... Actually, they probably lied about all the prints and I'm missing loads of info..... What harm in telling me they had done this one?? It's a great version, best version hands down and I own one of the normal ones. So you expected a company/artist manager/gallery or whatever tf you wanna call it, to provide you private information for you to use for you’re own commercial purposes including buy not limited to personal monetary gain? I’m sorry I just don’t understand the accusations of “ THEY FLAT OUT LIED TO ME “ what if they wasn’t done when you asked? My bad wait, who the hell are you again? Banksy’s Life coach? Or his spiritual adviser? Or maybe you the Royal WCP? Why would a print house or an artist or anyone be obligated to provide you with information of the inner workings or Dealings of there business? What about private commissions? Do you also demand that info/image edition info before the actual recipient received the art? Lol I’m never surprised at the things grown men whine about when it comes to these cool colored pieces of paper which in reality they don’t have any rights to other than self entitlement! What happened to the passion in collecting art? The chase, the anxiety of continuously f5’ing refreshing going back and going back to keep in cart. Check4change page monitor early links the feeling of winning the olympics when that PayPal receipt Email came before the page refreshed was the greatest relief of morning stress. Damn I miss those days of yore. The man has OCD. Cut him some slack, I know what he’s going through

Kate moss - opinions, by silvermyn on Nov 11, 2020 11:14:01 GMT 1, Hi all. I’m connected with a potential sale of a Kate moss. I just would like some opinions, on this thread please not via DM, of how much I could achieve through a private sale? Some ball park opinions would be much appreciated! Thank you There are a range of prints including the main edition, various colourways, ap’s and gift prints. It would be helpful if you could confirm the edition number (if it’s a print) and which colourway (if it’s one of those).
The Pest Control COA will have this basic information on it. If there is no COA then that will also impact the value.
Once you have the basic info, including the condition of the print, a ball park valuation is possible. As it stands the only fair answer is that “it depends”.

Banksy™ Thrower print, Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Oct 13, 2020 10:25:54 GMT 1, Slightly off topic, but does anyone else think the hand with the flowers looks weird with only 3 fingers represented? Always seems off to me. By the way, I agree that the info and images used by the eBay seller are totally suspect. If you think that’s weird, you may want to check out the hand on the Girl With Balloon

BANKSY Gross Domestic Product™, by silvermyn on Oct 9, 2020 17:26:09 GMT 1, Do people think with the legal battle lost against the card company that GDP will ever restock or release more items? My guess would be that there will be more to come from GDP, regardless of any appeal against the decision.
They said there would be more to come and the online store is still there. I don’t think they’re done with sending out all of the stuff from the first round yet.
Fingers crossed for some official news in time for Christmas
