Pest Control COA โข Banksy Print Authentication, by eyectopus on Feb 19, 2022 21:34:29 GMT 1, OP, I know you're frustrated with PC's response, or lack thereof. I was in the same boat as you. Two days ago I emailed them and told them that I've had enough of their bullshit and I expressed how upset I was. My email was stern and very very very unpleasant. The next morning, I got a knock on my door. To my surprise, PC showed up at my door with not only my COA, but balloons and flowers as well. All it takes is a very very very unpleasant email, and you'll get your COA. Keep on truckin and in the words of the greatest artist of our generation, never never never never give up!
I hope they stepped back and threw the flowers LIITA style at you

Nicolas Party 2022 New Print Edition, by eyectopus on Feb 19, 2022 1:27:01 GMT 1, It amazes me how he picked up so much knowledge and skill so quickly and could merge it all into his work. The fact he could sneak elements past the noses of editors and publishers and also having fun referencing real life people and related symbols is brilliant. Of the areas his influence is seen my favourite is the pulp science fiction illustrations of Virgil Finlay decades later. Like Schiele, itโs desperately sad how young he died, as one canโt imagine what he might have left for the world had he not been taken so young.
Yes it is very sad. They both could have had another 40 - 50 years of work, collaboration and development if not taken by illness.

Nicolas Party 2022 New Print Edition, by eyectopus on Feb 18, 2022 23:56:03 GMT 1, Well indeed! If you read my earlier post in this thread you will see that have said that this print also reminds me of Aubrey Beardsley. Great minds...! It is reassuring to learn there are some Aubrey Beardsley enthusiasts here. Some of his illustrations remain shocking to this day. They're among the most subversive and radical I've ever seen โ making an image like Ban ksy's Queenย Vic look positively quaint by comparison.

Nicolas Party 2022 New Print Edition, by eyectopus on Feb 18, 2022 19:00:24 GMT 1, I agree with your framing suggestions above, this reminds me slightly of the type of illustrations done by Aubrey Beardsley. Examples of the framing of his pieces can be seen on the Tate website which would suit this piece also. Well indeed! I hadn't spotted that @coach. You bet me to it I have one of the Yellow Book issues from 1894 that he had some illustrations in and on the cover. His work is great.

Nicolas Party 2022 New Print Edition, by eyectopus on Feb 18, 2022 18:09:32 GMT 1, I really like the framing option on artspace. But a thinner frame would probably look even better. Of course to an extent framing is a matter of personal taste (I say only to an extent as I think it is quite acceptable to say some framing is simply bad, even if some people like it). I think the framing option offered for this beautiful print is terrible. It is far too heavy for such a delicate image. That frame detracts from the image; draws your eyes away from it. I would suggest a much more delicate black box frame (at least half the width of the suggested frame) is appropriate (as you have suggested). Regardless, I am envious of anyone who bought one of these prints.

Nick Smith ๐ฌ๐ง Pixelated Art โข Colour Swatches โข New Print, by eyectopus on Feb 16, 2022 21:42:57 GMT 1, Anyone pulled trigger yet? What are people's thoughts on the NFT / crypto led words? A sign of the times today or age miserably in a couple of years?
I think that it is a good capture of a point in time and the words that spring to people's minds. Some people made it personal with their and loved ones names and nicknames, other put words they like and others things they liked. I think Crypto is a sign of the times and good to have references to it there. Like a bit of a time capsule.

Nick Smith ๐ฌ๐ง Pixelated Art โข Colour Swatches โข New Print, by eyectopus on Feb 12, 2022 22:23:58 GMT 1, I bought one of these and got a email sayingโฆcongratulations! Blah blah blahโฆyou were successful and one of the first people to contributeโฆbut mines isnโt on it?!? but nick amd nick smith seemed to make it? Arsehole! Are you 100% sure itโs not there? What was your word? Also, I donโt think thatโs fair comment, it was the first 1001 contributions that got added so itโs not Nickโs fault if people added him/his name. That aside, if you tell us what your word is then more eyes looking at it may reveal it.
That's a good suggestion. Took me a while to find mine. I actually spotted other members ones before I found my own.
A good few members seem to be on the first few lines aswell.

Funny thing is I spotted some others that could have been put in by me but weren't. My cats name and my daughters name (I added her nickname) were there. It makes me think how many duplicates there were or if there was a dup checker on the form.

Tracey Emin โข It's a Crime to Live with The Person You don't, by eyectopus on Feb 6, 2022 21:16:00 GMT 1, I find the Xu Bing one very interesting. Don't know anything about the artist though...
He has had some solo shows in well known museums and works with calligraphy and printmaking. It was a discussion in one of the NFT threads that reminded me that I had seen the posters on the MIF site.

SHILLING THREAD! Click & Win, by eyectopus on Dec 28, 2021 23:08:37 GMT 1, Hey guys, I believe should actually open a proper Shilling thread as many competitions are now going on Discord... Rule #1. First comes, First serve. If there is already a link, do not add another and respect the first person that posted the link. Rule #2: no complaints... we all want free stuff and prizes. Here is my first one: AVANT ARTE COMPETITION! discord.gg/pmTJu9TP
I think this is a very good idea. There has been a lot of people putting up links without calling out that they are referral links. I do not click on Discord links unless the person who shared the link mentions what it is for.

Edgar Plans ๐ช๐ธ Sculpture โข Madrid โข NBA Basketball , by eyectopus on Dec 28, 2021 23:03:20 GMT 1, Whatโs their timescale on creating an animated TV series!!!! ? **PHASE 8** | Beginning of animation series production with Edgar Plans, **PHASE 9** | Show premiere tickets airdrop for holders,โจ **PHASE 10** | Edgar Plans animation series available on one of the top global stream platforms,
The Cryptodads had looked into an animation series at one point also with a streaming service, but they didn't go further with it. There were some issues with rights or ownership from what I recall. It got a lot of interest before they dropped the idea.

NFT Art

NFT Art , by eyectopus on Dec 15, 2021 20:43:07 GMT 1, yeah, got the fairey presale. was able to help a few friends also since I have more than one piece of his. .1 is a no brainer, just not sure how they will perform. Will also be interesting if the characteristics collectors have preferred over the years will carry over.
I am interested in seeing that also. It will depend on how many are fans of the existing artwork vs new people coming from the NFT side I assume. The rarity will be interesting also to see what characteristics or main images are in the collection.
yeah, got the fairey presale. was able to help a few friends also since I have more than one piece of his. .1 is a no brainer, just not sure how they will perform. NFT Art , by eyectopus on Dec 15, 2021 11:50:56 GMT 1, about that Pak's Merge release:ย As soon as you learn that NFTs aren't about the art, it makes a lot more sense.ย I got a buncha mass also. With that said, Fairey is releasing one soon.
The Fairey NFT is one that interests me. I joined the Discord a few days ago and tried for the presale. The Discord chat so far is full of people asking the same questions over and over which has meant that a lot of bot messages have been needed to cut down on the questions.
The physical verify channel is interesting, there are some nice pieces posted, but a lot trying their luck with stickers, copies etc. Also some very poorly handled prints being pulled out of tubes and folders to get verified.

Nick Smith ๐ฌ๐ง Pixelated Art โข Colour Swatches โข New Print, by eyectopus on Dec 5, 2021 22:39:24 GMT 1, Does anyone know if the โdigitalโ will be an actual NFT, or just a download sent in email? Difficult to say. I thought just a PDF but itโs the โcredited on the workโ bit that is throwing me off.
Same here, so it looks like it will be the swatch colour, the choosen word and also the credited name. It will be interesting how they are incorporated into the piece. I look forward to seeing what happens with this.

Nick Smith ๐ฌ๐ง Pixelated Art โข Colour Swatches โข New Print, by eyectopus on Dec 5, 2021 21:07:54 GMT 1, It seems he got his 1000 entries as it doesn't allow you to 'check out' anymore.
I checked it now and the checkout is still available.

Dismaland Merchandise , by eyectopus on Nov 30, 2021 22:34:01 GMT 1, He states "Each balloon will also come with an official Dismaland ticket which will be emailed to you". I don't see why he would do that, it provides no provenance.
After the balloons being limited enough during Dismaland I cant see why they would leave 1000's unused. Unless they ran out of helium

Paul insect Over rated or not ?, by eyectopus on Nov 30, 2021 18:38:58 GMT 1, it appears to me that Paul's portraits have in some way been inspired by Leigh Bowery, I heard his name when was reading about Massive Attack's classic hit song 'Unfinished Sympathy' that he was the art director when they filmed the video for the track in LA. on further googling this comparison has been made before but I found it quite interesting as I'd not heard of him before.
I had not seen this before you pointed it out. I see it now though so thanks for pointing it out.
Leigh Bowery was very influential is many areas. Once you know his name you will be surprised in how many places his name comes up.
I first heard about him when reading about NYC clubbing in the 90's. He influenced nightclubs, their entertainment and fashions. He also influenced Madonna, Boy George, Alexander McQueen, Gaultier and many others. Elements from his costumes still pop up in a lot of fashion today. He was also a muse for Freud.
I recall a good few years ago that a well known member on this forum had the Bowery lightbulbs ears image as his avatar. The same image that could have influenced Paul Insect.

KEITH HARING , by eyectopus on Nov 11, 2021 19:01:13 GMT 1, I noticed that these Keith Haring โCrack Downโ prints have increased in price to $99. Iโm dumb and thought the price would stay at $67 since the print has been around for a long time, and planned on purchasing one at a later date. Went to buy one today and saw the price increase. I realize itโs not a huge increase, but wish I wouldโve picked one up at the $67 price or even less like some of you have. I decided to buy one now so the price doesnโt increase even more! In theory would the price increase be due to them starting to run low on copies? I know nobody would know the exact reason, but was just curious on peoples thoughts. www.wolfgangs.com/posters/crack-down-benefit/poster/MSG861031.html
I had my eye on some rock concert posters there a few years ago. The were between $20 and $80 dollars each. The prices did fluctuate regularly, but I had them in my cart and went back a few weeks later and they were over $200 each. Some are still there but a lot are now gone off the site. The Harings have gone up slightly in price but do come down a bit regularly from what I have seen.

KEITH HARING , by eyectopus on Oct 25, 2021 19:28:47 GMT 1, That was a pellon from what I recall. I bought an unsigned one. They have a signed pellon still for sale with the other image for the Crack Down event. Yes that's right. I think they were prooFor Sale for the tshirt printing or something like that.
Yep, they were used as proofs for the t-shirt printing. They look great with nice bright colours.

KEITH HARING , by eyectopus on Oct 25, 2021 18:09:24 GMT 1, They also had one of these posters signed by loads of the musicians a while back, so I am sure they would have all came from the same legitimate source.

NFT Art , by eyectopus on Oct 23, 2021 19:42:36 GMT 1, Thanks for posting this. The links is an interesting one. I have seen so many on here posting links that benefited themselves without being clear about it. Personally I think it is fine once people are clear about it. I found the Crop Clash easily enough on Opensea and picked one up. I meant to say, there is an airdrop tonight for holders pre launch. I'm.sure you're fine just confirm with mods on discord. you bought just at right time. we don't know what it is but the artist is doing exclusive characters
Cheers, I had just logged on to post that when I saw your message. I messaged the Discord and they are going to take a fresh snapshot before the airdrop. That is a nice surprise to get especially after just picking it up. Cheers again for the heads up.

NFT Art

NFT Art , by eyectopus on Oct 23, 2021 14:44:16 GMT 1, could you please send a link, lots of fake on OS and the one i see has only 216 items so it looks weird as usually 10,000 of them. is there a website? discord? Alec Monopoly brother and manager Avery has an NFT called Crop Clash. There was a rushed launch a while back and the NFT mint was paused, images never released due to technical error. They are now back on track and will be launching in a few weeks. Reasons I like it: - Avery can sell ice to an eskimo, has lots of influence - I like the art and the story of crazy tomatoes - You can pick one up cheap for now on Open Sea (Crop Clash V2) before the re-launch and marketing kicks off again - This was a failed launch, starting from scratch with roadmap, which I find interesting to watch rather than the usual LETS GOOOOOO nonsense Anyway, I've no clue on the value or potential I just like them. Also not posting a link to discord or OS as I dont want to be accused of getting shares / invite link spam etc. If you're interested you can google it yourself on Open Sea
If you check the main website only 238 were minted before the issue, so that is all that is on OS.
