Is Bigger Better?, by senna on Jan 3, 2009 0:29:20 GMT 1, I think it's all about placement..I also have a soft spot for those little rats, but had there only been one of them it would have paled in significance alongside his other works. The fact that there were many gave them a bigger meaning..for me,the large NY rats and the Nick Walker pieces were just adverts with more appeal to the US than the more modest taste of Brits. The only street artists that work on a grand scale for me are blu and Eine.
...Os Gemeos brothers?

POW Open Day • 2008, by senna on Nov 10, 2008 10:42:11 GMT 1, The location is usually announced only very shortly beforehand If we're guessing I'd say it'll be in NY. And then I'll guess again - that it'll be in the toy shop.
you couldnt swing a cat/monkey in there

Grace Jones- Hurricane- special thanks to Banksy, by senna on Nov 8, 2008 14:25:32 GMT 1, jesus, him and brand have done everyone's granddaughters by the sounds of it! can't necessarily see a banksy influence on the fornt cover although i had heard he was involved in this project so am probably wrong. the pet store was such a change in his usual medium/style, even though it had the obvious humour, that it's hard to imagine what he'll come up with/do next
exactly.
how could anyone ever second guess Mr. B ever again

DFace American Depress Card, by senna on Oct 4, 2008 12:03:05 GMT 1, This reminds me a lot of the mini print by Slinkachu from the last D*Face show at BRP They cost nothing/a donation and then in the few days after went for upto £50 on Ebay then there has never been one on there since funny because they were an edition of 100 These will probably do the same... crazy to pay over £50 for one of these IMO
totally

Banksy Statement RE: Lyon & Turnbull, by senna on Sept 26, 2008 21:10:54 GMT 1, I reckon graeme501 will do well with this as
a.its just another signed print, with cast iron provenance against all the moody gear
the buyer could add, "sold @ the moodiest auction to date" to the provenance
whatever happens, all eye's are on it tomorrow
hope the legit stuff smashes records
& the rest gets smashed in transit ;D

Banksy Statement RE: Lyon & Turnbull, by senna on Sept 26, 2008 12:09:49 GMT 1, Lets just hope that whoever buys those pieces at auction know the whole story, and dont pop up in a few weeks or months time asking for their money back from Lyon & Turnbull or Vermin
Lets just hope that whoever buys those pieces at auction know the whole story, and DO pop up in a few weeks or months time asking for their money back from Lyon & Turnbull or Vermin
I swear if I won the lottery, I'd get hold of as many of the street pieces i could get hold of (obviously the s**t already taken) & put them all in a museum (free entrance) for all to view forever.
but that wouldn't work would it. Some c**t 'll f**k that up in some way

IS URBAN / STREET ART AND THIS SCENE DEAD?, by senna on Sept 16, 2008 22:07:06 GMT 1, I for one still love much of the art coming out of this scene, but it is harder to separate the good from bad and I can understand why people can't be arsed to do that.
I'M WITH HIM

Insect Private View......., by senna on Sept 12, 2008 0:17:11 GMT 1, really enjoyed the show: some great work. Fresh. Not just a derivative like a lot of the s**te out there masquerading as art/ists. shows his diversity, yet you know its a Paul insect...
Everything was extremely well executed. the attention to detail was top notch : stiletto bones on the bunny girl table ;D perfect dentistry, that beautiful rare wood, the bronze skulls(only knew that 'coz it says so in the price list, otherwise you'd swear they were regular bone skulls). the bunny ears looked like they were made of a velvety material, but they're bronze too.
the venue was great. plenty of room to stand back & appreciate it all
great turn out
cheers Paul!
cheers Laz
