Float Mounting โข Deckled Edge, by cemltz on Mar 12, 2024 19:43:22 GMT 1, Yes - you should have let it relax or flatten more before framing. That said, no framer should have framed it without some flattening. I would raise the issue - they are supposed to be the professionals. It looks like the riser is too small and the tabs are not far enough near the corners - which will allow it to curl...

It looks like the riser is too small and the tabs are not far enough near the corners - which will allow it to curl... Out of curiosity what is the riser? Honestly, a bit hard to tell with your piece, but often times the float mounted piece is elevated above the backer, to create space/shadows/depth. Rather than just pinning it flat. Whatever is used to elevate it (foam board, for instance) would be the riser. Called different things in different necks of the woods. Given the space between the art and the backer (particularly at bottom) makes me think there is something in there.

Cheers cemltz , this is what I thought after thinking about it. Iโve used the same framer for years and never had an issue and actually have a good relationship. So will discuss it with them.
