There must be lots of Banksy fans who were there from the beginning buying his prints for £70 who will feel totally betrayed by this. When I first started collecting Banksy prints they were £35 and I couldn't now afford one of these prints but I definitely don't feel betrayed or sore in any way. I think he's a great artist and I'm very glad he's getting the recognition and reward he deserves. It's the same situation as with most of the other artists whose work I've bought over the years; I can't afford to buy their work now but I can still enjoy their work even if I can't afford to buy it to hang in my own house.
Those who originally bought prints for £35-£70 would have purely been buying them because they liked the image and could now be sitting on a tidy sum. I don't think they would feel at all betrayed by a £15,000 print release, surely if nething that makes there older prints all the more valuable? Just my thoughts

Complains? I think he was making a point about the context within which art is viewed and the assumptions we make.
The show was about celebrating art for everyone, that doesn't mean he can't sell art for whatever he chooses just because we don't like it.
Life makes hypocrites of us all.
