Another unarmed black teen killed by the police, by kultur on Aug 18, 2014 21:24:24 GMT 1, Just to cut down on confusion. The autopsy that the family had performed indicated that the bullets all entered from the front. So he had not been shot when he turned around and charged the officer. Again, I don't think murdering a civilian is correct, I'm just trying to make sure the tiny amount of facts that are available are not lost. Just to be clear, eye witness statements say the first shot came from the police truck as the officer tried to aggressively pull him into the car by his throat having reversed into him for jaywalking, trying to pull away, the officer shouted, stay still or I'm going to f**king shoot you, and then seconds later did. Having been shot (from the front), the innocent (of anything but jaywalking) non suspect pulled away and tried to run. The officer got out of the car and pursued, the other kid in fear of his life hid behind a car. With nowhere to go, the non suspect of any crime, already shot, turned, put his arms up and started to get down whilst saying " don't shoot I don't have a gun", pumped up on adrenaline, machismo and racism and still charging forward, the police officer unleashed a barrage of bullets. The second non suspect fled for his life and later told this eye witness story to camera. End of story.

Easy to comment on this from 3000 miles away, tougher when you have a 6'4" guy that weighs over 200 pounds inches from your gun. Not true. The two teens were not considered suspects in a robbery, because the convenience store owner never called the cops about a robbery because... Kultur, I want you to understand, this isn't personal, you're just a product of LA and America's tradition of divide and conquer, of institutional racism and in particular a culture that pitches white against black on a daily basis. You're relatively quiet on here, but on this thread, a thread that has nothing to do with art but everything to do with the inherent racism in the police force and the death of an 18yr old kid, someone's son and grandson, shot 6 times, once in the face and once through the top of his head..for jaywalking.. (as far as we know).. well, you're all over it. You have a far greater interest in defending a policeman now being supported by the KKK.. than a young poor black kid. Now I personally, and imagine a majority of liberal minded people would, identify with the latter. You obviously with the former. Hence the discussion/argument. Please keep on topic. you guys are throwing down some pretty heavy stuff there for what just needs to be a free exchange of ideas.
being an American of greek/german/english bloodlines for all of my 47 years i'll tell ya - we shure aint perfect ..but i have sure been a lot of places that are less perfect. and that my friend leads us to part of the american dream. the undying belief that if we work together we can somehow make the future just that much better than the past. it is, obviously, a work in progress. one thing i will remind everyone is the USA is a vastly big place. and the current problem area couldnt be found on a map without a magnifying glass. maybe there should be massive social unrest across the country jonnyh .. but i can tell you right now.. there isnt. Since it is America and you are pretty much free to do what ya want.. anyone interested to learn more can sure hop a plane, bus, or car as needed and go get a first hand look. right now though it looks like it is going to get messier before it gets cleaner..and that is a real shame so proceed with caution.

I am trying to quell a situation that just does not need to be inflamed as ALL THE FACTS ARE NOT IN! Tell me when all the facts are out there that this cop was a racist and did this intentionally and and I will be the first to jump in on this issue and speak against the evil. if you combine the number of people in jail with those on parole or probation 1 in every 31 adults or 3.2 % of the population is under correctional control
of the 2.3 million in jail 1 million are African Americans if you add in the Hispanic population that rises to 1,334,000 58% if the prison population.
yet of the total US population 70% are white Americans and 30% various ethnic minorities.
So roughly 20-25% of the population makes up 58% of the prison population!!!
