I agree these issues should be discussed, but apparently some people on here can't have a discussion without naming calling or insulting other forum members and are ruining it for the rest of us

What did you expect Nu, half of this forum reads like the fucking Daily Mail.

Beyond all the rhetoric there are some clear facts.

1. He was unarmed
2. He was shot 6 times. Twice in the head, one of those shots through the top of his head.

Best I can tell, those are the only undisputed facts.
Everything else is still coming out. However that said the cops have to justify every bullet. However there is a drastic difference between a bad shooting and a crime.

Everything else in this thread (by in large) is people projecting their world view on the situation.


There is a non race specific, us vs them culture with the police in the US. People would have you believe that it's new or white vs black, but it's not and it's not. In fact, I would ask you to think back all throughout history and realize people in power often get out on control and justify their behavior. Also id offer the factual evidence that cops kill whites, blacks and other races without much consideration for their race. Cops in general kill poor or middle class people, more of those people happen to be minorities. If a cop kills an upper middle class to upper class person in a bad shooting that cop is fired, only jailed in the most extreme cases, where the bad shooting was clear cut or the victims family is of such means or influence to trump the impunity by which the police operate.

The belief that monitories can't get ahead in this country is bullshit. Institutional racism exists that convinces minorities that they can't get ahead. This is because rich people require a proletariate. The rich need laborers. If people believed they could do better for themselves, open small businesses to serve their community, then large retailers and other businesses that depend on this labor force would struggle. Some industrialist said, I don't want a nation of thinkers, I want a nation of workers. So perpetuate a lie that convinces people that there is no path for them and they will likely step right into whatever roll you wish them to have.

I did a paper in school (20 years ago) on how earth is just a cell, and the human race is a virus eating away at it before moving on to the next cell. In this case the next cell is about 9 generations away in travel time but I got an A+

To me this thread exhibits one depressing thing, that the world has gotten extremely polarized. You can't have a rational discussion about this topic. If you don't think this cop asked some innocent little kid to hold his hands up in boroad daylight in the middle of a street and shot him six times just for being black then you're apparently a FOX news right wing fascist racist. And on the other hand if you think the cop is guilty of murder then you're a left wing socialist hippie blah blah blah. I see the arguments from both sides and they all make me cringe.

Obviously racism is still an issue, worldwide. And this was a tipping point for unleashing anger and frustration. But even if there was only one race we'd still have these pockets of hate. We'd still have very rich and very poor. It just makes it a lot easier when you can identify who to hate or think less of simply by color.
