Also the Play-off final against Barnsley the previous season. Nerves shredded until Reuser made it 4-2 in the last minute.

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by Black Apple Art on Oct 1, 2015 19:20:42 GMT 1, One of my favorites was just last year at Dave Grohl's last minute Birthday concert at the Forum in Los Angeles. They announced tickets one day before and I was lucky enough to be near a computer and snag a seat before the entire venue sold out in just minutes...Mind you this was without disclosing anything about the show other than is was Dave Grohl's birthday so had no idea what to expext. Set list is below and shows how one will absolutely never see this on a single stage again. Truly amazing show!
Detroit Rock City (KISS cover) (with Paul Stanley) Do You Love Me (KISS cover) (with Paul Stanley) All My Life Rope The Pretender My Hero Happy Birthday (Mildred J. Hill cover) (crowd singalong led by Jack Black) Tie Your Mother Down (Queen cover) (with Slash) (with Tenacious D) Immigrant Song (Led Zeppelin cover) (with Tenacious D) (with Slash) Congregation Walk School's Out (Alice Cooper cover) (with Alice Cooper) I'm Eighteen (Alice Cooper cover) (with Alice Cooper) Cold Day in the Sun Monkey Wrench Two Headed Dog (Red Temple Prayer) (Roky Erickson cover) (with Nick Oliveri) Learn to Fly White Limo Arlandria N.I.B. (Black Sabbath cover) (with Zakk Wylde) (Zakk on Guitar, Dave on Bass, Taylor on Drums) Fairies Wear Boots (Black Sabbath cover) (with Zakk Wylde) (Zakk on Guitar, Dave on Bass, Taylor on Drums) Times Like These Outside Mountain Song (Jane’s Addiction cover) (with Perry Farrell) Miss You (The Rolling Stones cover) (with Perry Farrell) Something From Nothing This Is a Call Jam (with Trombone Shorty) Best of You Panama (Van Halen cover) (with David Lee Roth) Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love (Van Halen cover) (with David Lee Roth) Everlong Let It Rock (Chuck Berry cover) (with Lemmy Kilmister) (with Slash and Zakk Wylde) Note: Dave Grohl's 46th birthday party concert

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by Spenie on Oct 30, 2015 23:11:32 GMT 1, Another important gig but not the best was one of my own. Winning a battle of the bands but not expecting too, so spent all afternoon drinking. By the time the winner was announced I was too drunk to hold together a beat so god knows how it sounded . Me with hair back right.
It's a shit business...

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by Deleted on Oct 30, 2015 23:37:20 GMT 1, Opening Ceremony at London 2012 was pretty special. Went to a Blur 'friends and family' Glasto warm-up gig at Brixton Academy which was also fun. New Order at Lancashire Cricket Ground and a couple of insane Massive Attack gigs also at Brixton. Booked tickets today for 'classical' Hacienda revival at Royal Albert Hall next March which will hopefully make this list in the future...

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by Finsbury on Sept 17, 2016 8:04:39 GMT 1, knew i'd kept these, thought i'd share. First UK Appearance from: LL Cool J / Public Enemy / Eric B & Rakim – Massive event.. First UK Appearance from: Run DMC / The Beastie Boys 87 - Great show & PE NWA – without Ice Cube but.. Ice Cube without NWA & KRS One / BDP rocz any mic. . . . . WOW what a few gigs that must of been..superb! I went to PE, Run DMC and Derek B at the Brighton centre in '88. It was one, if not the first gig i went to without parents, after nearly getting crushed getting in (a girl actually did as a barrier fell on top of her) as fans were surging the doors i remember clear as day being totally mesmerized by the SW1's. Flavour flav was nothing compared to them for me that night through the eyes of a 14 year old!

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by mrizzle on Jan 3, 2017 19:35:40 GMT 1, Live music has been a huge part of my life since my early teens (horrifyingly that's now going on for 19 years) and I've seen so many fantastic gigs (and some hideous ones). For me, right now, Biffy Clyro are one of the most consistently brilliant live bands. I went to see them a month ago and they were, once again, superb. They played a 2.5 hit set and were supported by Brand New. They're just an awesome live band. Their current staging and light show is also fantastic. This photo is from their Aberdeen show:
Muse, Radiohead, RHCP, Frightened Rabbit and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are amongst my other favourite performances that I've been to.

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by Everyone Owes on Jan 5, 2017 9:07:49 GMT 1, In the past six months:
Christine & The Queens - Latitude (the morning after the Nice truck attack) - relatively small BBC6 tent compared to her Glasto outing, and highly charged, emotional atmosphere
Radiohead - Roundhouse, 1st night. Enough said
Melanie de Biasio - Jazz Cafe - she opened with a 34mins rendition of Blackened Cities
Mutual Benefit - Cecil Sharp House, Camden - great venue and v intimate gig. Perfect antidote to the USA elections

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by churchwood on Jan 5, 2017 14:55:23 GMT 1, Have always loved live music and still go to a reasonable amount of gigs – just with partyplugs nowadays - I have a pretty broad taste in music so have seen a real variety of stuff over the (many) years some memorable ones that stick are as follows.
Saw Suede around 1991/1992 at a small club in Bath – they had just started and I think this was their tour in support of the first 12” – they had so few songs that they played at least one song twice – they hung around afterwards and seemed like decent guys too.
Saw My Bloody Valentine twice in the 1990’s and nearly lost my hearing too. They were louder and with more feedback then I could have imagined.
Godspeed you Black Emperor at the Fleece in Bristol – they had just been on the cover of NME and it was a pretty small show – remember the noise level and drone and bass making stuff on the bar and the old metal clock at the back of the room vibrate and they were amazing – have seen them since a few times but nothing matched this gig.
Flaming Lips in Camden Underworld – around Hit to Death in the Future Head era – awesome band live – just before they changed their sound.
Biggest disappoint was seeing Pavement in Bristol – was on their last tour (I think) and they were the one band I really wanted to see at least once having grown up with them – they were lousy and so was the sound
Sorry that went on a bit…………but it could have been a lot longer…….love music

Best gig and sporting events you've been at. , by AoT Framing on Jan 6, 2017 18:29:49 GMT 1, I was fortunate in a previous life to be an A&R man for various record companies. A lot of the best gigs I saw were in front of a handful of people usually less than 20 people. Occasionally I'd stumble on something wonderful and report back to my bosses that we should sign them. Acts that I desperately wanted to sign but was turned down included Jesus & The Mary Chain,The Sugarcubes, Pj Harvey, Pulp, Stone Roses (8 people at Dingwalls for this gig!) but best gig of all time for me was Bob Marley - Crystal Palace 1980. Goose-bumped the entire 2 hour set.
