The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by chads007 on Jun 20, 2016 23:32:51 GMT 1, I guess extremism and mental health could go hand in hand, but clinically speaking will have to see. The gay club shooter seemed to be radicalised within America and was clearly heard voicing his grievances against Iraq and Syria, and was battling his sexuality & identity issues it seems.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by misterx on Jun 21, 2016 4:48:16 GMT 1, I was at a party last night talking to a friend of ours that works for Nestle and his job means he travels to cover the UK and Europe and he thinks there won't be a problem in business if we vote leave. Looks like the UK is destined to forge its own path. I hope you mate is right. It would however mean that the Bank of England, the imf, the vast majority of economists, and most other experts are wrong. A childhood mate of mine, now an economist of some repute in the USA, is holidaying in London at the moment. We had chatted prior about Brexit and Paul had said he would reserve comment until he'd been over for a few weeks.
Last weekend he told me he felt Britain should Leave.
He said he hears constantly on telly that leaving would be a disaster and this is being confirmed by 9 "expert" economists out of 10.
Paul said the easiest counter to the economist position is the fact that less than 1 in 10 economists predicted the Global Financial Crisis in 07-08...

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by iamzero on Jun 21, 2016 7:14:03 GMT 1, Not sure about Nuart but I can't see why they would've been pushed or indeed felt the need to have left the forum. I thought the idea of a forum was to share ideas and thoughts? I guess if you can't stand the idea of your thoughts being challenged or are not able to share your own ideas and convince someone else to consider a different stance on something without name calling or insults then perhaps forums are not for everyone? Shame I guess as I'm sure the fact the organise art festivals that they have many a positive influence to give to this place.

He seemed like he was having a mental breakdown as of late. All his latest posts were attacks and insults amongst board members. He was calling people racists and calling them stupid etc in multiple threads. 5 people I know on here reported him due to random personal attacks. He would hop in threads randomly and post nonsense like "Your a bigot and racist" then never respond again. If he contributed before I have been on the board then awesome but since I have been here, this type of behavior is all I have seen from him.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Daniel Silk on Jun 21, 2016 16:47:18 GMT 1, Are you gonna be watching tonight? Looks like a very weak panel selected by the Remain side.

I'll probably channel hop for the analysis. Sky, CNN, Russia Today all have their fair share of propaganda.
Will be seeing who they have as guests on those news shows. I do enjoy Richard Quest on CNN who is an excellant interviewer and pundit.
Or i'll watch Father Ted.

Weak? Interesting observation. This is all about the message, not style over substance. Panel choice seems very tactical on the part of the Remain campaign. The least well-known person on the panel would probably be O'Grady but she's there for a good reason. In my opinion the best debater on the panel is Ruth Davidson. Boris is generally good for entertainment value, but on this issue his self-interest is all too naked for me to take anything he says seriously. I hope that the personal attacks are kept to a minimum and the public get what they deserve.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 21, 2016 18:46:24 GMT 1, The EU will fall apart anyway. Once countries leaders say they refuse to abide by certain EU rules and agreements because it's bad for their country. The EU will lose it's power and hopefully resort to a free trade club. Schengen zone was a big mistake from the beginning to get rid of passport checks at borders.
Austerity across EU did not help either.
It's also untrue that people can carry on their trade they were doing in the UK in any EU country. The French refuse to allow UK estate agents setting up shop in France to sell properties. They prefer their own estate agents taking 8% commission.
Amazon com a US company is offering a delivery service in Europe which under cuts European companies plus takes trade away from local shops in Europe. It seems the EU is a bit of a con.

Well I for one never snitched to the teacher on Nuart... To report something would've meant I was in someway bothered about baseless comments. To be bothered about comments made towards me on this thread by Nuart would mean I valued the opinion... Which I don't. I find it a shame to have left as others clearly found Nuarts imput to the forum worthwhile.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Daniel Silk on Jun 21, 2016 19:00:53 GMT 1, I think an interesting vote would be on if people think the EU will exist in 10, 20, 50, 100 years time? Coz I think even remain voters don't seriously see much of a future for the EU and Euro.
Do you think the EU has a big future?

Which I don't. I find it a shame to have left as others clearly found Nuarts imput to the forum worthwhile. Did I say I reported him? No. Lets clear the air right now. People are reported on here ALL the time. I have had people pm me telling me they are reporting my comments for god sakes. That tells me people are "going out of there way" to report now a days on here. That leaves me to believe peoples comments/threads are being reported more then you think now a days on here. No idea why but there is no way he left because of that. You do not get any kind of notice if your thread gets reported so I 100% doubt he was ever informed about it either. He deleted his own account on his free will from the looks of it. I have "SEEN" people complain about this guy since I joined this board. So if they found what he said "out of line" then that is there choice.
It becomes a bigger issue when someone who is respected on this board is running around and posting baseless attacks/accusations about other members on here plain and simple. This board is suppose to be about art but when people start ranting about politics and religion, it becomes a bigger issue. Ever since the political threads have popped up, he has went crazy with his responses and attacks. Nuart even chimed in on a conversation about the US economy, calling people stupid when the guy has NO idea what is happening in the US. He is not from the US nor lives in the US. Unfortunately all I have seen from the guy is him losing his marbles. With all that said, maybe he just needed a time out or a nap. You would have to ask him.

I'm a bit cynical and took some of it as baiting and thread derailing. I have never blocked anyone and never sent a PM about anyones post on this forum. If I post something that someone doesn't like and they attack me or respond with an insult on the forum I just prefer to reply openly and then move on. I also believe because it is a politics thread that insults and disagreements will happen so would not want anyone banned because of what they posted on this thread.
I understand also that a few people on here know each other personally so there is a certain amount of loyalty and backup to some posters.
Who knows, some might do business with others on here.
I know that some have PM'd as a group to try to get certain people banned and alledgedly someone even PM'd another member on here to tell them that they were getting others to PM to get this person banned.
Seems a bit weird to me.
This forum is a great platform for business minded people to uses to prmote releases and make money from secondary sales. It has a huge number of viewers.
It seems some take offence when prmoting the latest expensive release by a gallery or printer with all the garb it quick before it's gone Aldi type plugging when someone posts something which is just an opinion.
It also seems that this forum is an ideal platform for real galleries and real artists who sell their photoshop doodles for a minimum of 500 quid for a print and people who make art and can paint faces etc and sell for low prices should be shown the door.
How many print releases do some of these not old artists knock out yearly to cater for the flipping brigade?
Back to politics.
The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 21, 2016 23:20:28 GMT 1, ""Do the Leave campaigners care about the misuse of public money? No. How do I know? Because they have scarcely mentioned the European Union’s great bonfire of banknotes. You know, the item that accounts for roughly 40% of the EU budget, or £42bn a year, almost all of which is wasted. You don’t know? I rest my case.
I’m talking about farm subsidies. If the Brexiters have raised the subject at all, it’s only to assure recipients that these vast sums will continue to be extracted from taxpayers’ pockets if Britain leaves. Some – such as Theresa Villiers and Owen Paterson – have suggested that the great giveaway of public funds could even be increased.
The leaders of the remain campaign are no better: George Osborne, while ripping down essential public services, has warned that if the UK votes out, this outrageous provision of unearned income might dry up. We should stay in Europe, he told the press in Northern Ireland, to ensure that brimming buckets of public money – £3bn a year in the UK – continue to be dispensed.
They would more accurately be described as land subsidies, as they are paid by the hectare. The more land you own or lease, the more public money you are given, so the richest people in Europe clean up. And not just in Europe: Russian oligarchs, Saudi princes and Wall Street bankers have bought up tracts of European farmland, thus qualifying for the vast sums we shovel into their pockets. Why is no word raised against these benefit tourists?"" www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/21/waste-cash-leavers-in-out-land-subsidie

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by mutatis on Jun 22, 2016 2:30:17 GMT 1, I reckon a lot of "undecided" will vote leave. Some won't say they are pro leave as they don't want to be branded racist. It's unfortunate if people feel that being pro Leave leaves them open to being branded "racist" but I wonder what sort of person would feel that. However, if that is the perception, given the positive elements that Leavers could campaign on, I can't help but think that Leave has brought that on itself as elements of their campaign on immigration transcend scaremongering and go straight past go to "hate the other" dog whistle politics which could have been lifted straight from the British National Party manifesto. Blame migrants instead of looking to the governments that caused the issue in the first place. One thing the referendum has done, is that it has brought immigration as an issue, squarely into political play forever more, whilst setting back race relations in this country.
I am too young to remember Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech but the echoes I feel are the same - with the emphasis being placed on EU migrants as if that makes it any less "provocative" (read racist). It is somewhat ironic that a few years earlier Powell as Minister of Health was begging for Caribbean nurses to come to the UK to work in the NHS.
