If "what is the EU?" Is the second highest Google search in the UK today, it only reinforces my opinion that the referendum should never have happened!

Totally agree. Should never have happened. This is the first time I have ever felt the country is really heading in the wrong direction.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by chads007 on Jun 25, 2016 10:24:23 GMT 1, Nearly a million signature so far, and farridge himself said he would want a second ref if the result was close ... perhaps sign and share

It's probably one time I would be happy with a 'broken promise ' and not go ahead with brex

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 25, 2016 10:49:33 GMT 1, Corbyn still lives in a some socialist utopia, he's not a moderniser, and silences anyone opposing him. I can see him being dragged away kicking and screaming. Poor leadership skills as shown as by his woeful 'pro eu' stance. I have zero confidence in him, and so do an increasing number of his MP's it seems Thats my point about these long term career politicians. Old stale out of touch with whats really going on. Pander for votes and ignore real issues. Corbyn has a hard job making any subject interesting.
Farrage talks a lot of bollocks like some political version of David Icke but Farrage is a rabble rouser and makes speeches which come across as passionate even if he is taking the piss and in it for the money.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 25, 2016 11:01:12 GMT 1, Did the Brexit people like Bo Jo and Farage lie to the voters?
If the votes for Brexit came from Tory heartlands which pushed the numbers to leave the EU in the referendum. I'm sure we would have seen a few posts and comments about the Tories and racism etc etc.
It was Labour heartlands and ethnic minorities in UK who voted for Brexit. So shows who the little englanders really are.
Ethnic minorities "asians" meaning Pakistan India etc have said publicly that the EU allows people to come to Britain freely from Europe but people from other countries are not allowed. So thats why they are voting for Brexit. In the belief that if Europeans are prevented from moving to Britain, that the UK can take in more people from these "asian" countries. Farage pandered for their votes by stating if the UK leaves Europe we can take more people from Africa etc.
People who voted for Brexit have taken away the right of young people to travel and work freely in Europe. Taken away the possibility of foreign firms creating jobs in UK and foreign firms moving out of UK.
Plus in the longer term taken away peoples freedom of speech and expression in the UK.
The new mayor of London has said that adverts depicting women dressed sexy will be banned in his authority controlled areas like the tube etc. The way I see it thats a personal view by the mayor and he has no right to impose his cultural values on others in a democracy.
Labour, ever since Blairs time, it's a party of hypocrits.

My parents came here from Uganda in the 70s as a result of idi Amin. Refugees of that time worked hard, integrated and were a success
I have heard shocking amounts of non - white immigrants vote OUT. But not because of their family not being able to come over easily, but because of the refugees and eastern European coming for a new and better life, like they did. Sad and ironic.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by iamzero on Jun 25, 2016 11:10:36 GMT 1, Could it be that the reason for voting against the immigration was a practical view and not a race one. If we don't have the services and infrastructure to cope with people coming in it doesn't make sense?

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by chads007 on Jun 25, 2016 11:16:56 GMT 1, Maybe, but I don't think there are any indication that brexit will cut numbers drastically, if it all. Uk will still accept refugees and migrant will still come over from Europe and now a greater selection from other parts of the world. Old Boris said himself he was 'pro immigration'. Sadly another way some brexit voters were mislead, if indeed they voted solely on those 'bloody immigrants'.

For some it was practical in that they believe if Europeans are prevented from moving to Britain that non europeans from their countries will be allowed.
People are selfish and self serving. It's a fact of life.

Pointless petition. A 2nd referendum will not happen regardless of how many people sign it.
It's not best out of 3 for God sake, we've had our vote and we voted out end of.

Sadly another way some brexit voters were mislead, if indeed they voted solely on those 'bloody immigrants'. Think your missing the point. Its not that immigration stops, The UK will always have immigration.
The point is the numbers wanted and the type accepted. So each government in power will be responsible for that. e.g. if the country votes say Corbyn in you can expect immigration figures to go up. If vote in the Tories probably less. Thats the point. not the movement of people the restriction is the free movement of people in europe.
so its a choice of the people of the UK not an unelected body in Europe

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by kel on Jun 25, 2016 12:03:47 GMT 1, Must be just me that thinks this petition is cringe worthy I actually would have expected this from the Outs if they had lost and the reply they would have got would have been "unlucky that is democracy".
They had one Out voter on Radio yesterday who thinks they made a mistake and now wants to vote In and then had an In voter who asked does that mean we are now not part of Europe. f**k me and the young generation say that the older generation has failed them. I think the education system has failed some of them.
I really don't care if you voted In or Out at least you voted the other 27.8% that couldn't be bothered you need to question.
Am I going to waste all my energy worrying about what might and might not be. Definitely not to much scare mongering going on. Top 5 import values for EU members April 16 to GB
GERMANY 5,209,341,155 NETHERLANDS 2,778,943,759 FRANCE 1,936,804,140 SPAIN 1,338,877,906 ITALY 1,310,356,157
Have a feeling that some agreement might have to be put in place fairly certain the German businesses wont be too happy in losing a net £2,483,340,821 short fall.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 25, 2016 12:37:21 GMT 1, The whole thing has been cringe worthy, and continues to be so. Now I've had a cuppa, I've changed my mind about the petition, even if the vote could be turned around in a second election, it would be even more humiliating for the British people, going back like a naughty school boy, cap in hand. We've made our bed and that's it.
It's not about having my own way, and boo-hoo child like crap, its about a basic sense of fairness, a belief in real democracy. It's clear, that the vote became hijacked as a protest vote, used to signal a lack of confidence in government and main-stream politics, rather than the real issue of the EU, and that I believe to of been wrong.
For all of my life Wales has been governed from Westminster by unelected governments, irrespective of the Assembly. I had, at the risk of sounding naïve, always just assumed that the lack of confidence in politicians, and government, the cynicism that exists, was mainly a working class thing. What came home to me during this campaign was that cynicism, and lack of confidence in government is now something which crosses class all divides, and various other differences amongst people, such as race and education.
The EU referendum vote, was meant to be exactly that. Sadly, at least to my mind, that wasn't the case.

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 25, 2016 12:41:52 GMT 1, Nearly a million signature so far, and farridge himself said he would want a second ref if the result was close ... perhaps sign and share petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215It's probably one time I would be happy with a 'broken promise ' and not go ahead with brex Over 1.2 million now.
1.2 million is nothing compared to the amount of out votes.
Sorry coach but it isn't going to happen. We're leaving the eu, get used to it

The UK's EU Referendum - 23rd June 2016., by Deleted on Jun 25, 2016 13:33:21 GMT 1, The country deserves all it gets. If the majority of the population are happy to revel in their ignorance and stupidity then who am I to worry about them.
I'm looking forward to the chaos ahead; for the Tories, Labour, the economy. Nothing is sacred now, and there's no going back.
