Show us your HIFI System, by Deleted on Jan 6, 2014 19:47:14 GMT 1, I would personally like to publicly thank Lesson1 for his PM's and wise words on this subject.
I beta tested the input on my neighbour who confirmed that in principle what he advised could be done and now we are on the case.
Will be working from home over the next couple of weeks, re-engaging with music.

I have struggled in the past with comfort of in-ear headphones but the Comply foam ear tips really do make a difference, also add some noise cancelling. Seems crazy money for a bit of foam but I would buy again.
Good service from this company in the past www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/

Show us your HIFI System, by Klow on Jan 11, 2014 19:51:07 GMT 1, Loving my new Sonos Play 5! Amazing sound, and the app integrates really well with most of the popular streaming music services. My only gripe is I wish there was native support for Google Play. I found a third party app (Macronos) that integrates with Google Play so its not a big deal. I will be adding a few Play 1 or 3's in the bedrooms. Thanks again to this thread!

Recently I upgraded to Shure SE530 PHT's. I was a little sceptical about how much better the sound quality could be for the extra money, but very pleasantly surprised. I've tried a few Bose, B&O, Grado, Sennheiser and these beat anything else out there hands down including the ones mentioned above. Depends what you're after really, comfort, style, sound, price?

It rocks, does my phone and mac book, plus i can use head phone socket to TV
I have some big fuck off b&w floor standers that have been relegated to a dark corner as the zeppelin has taken over. oh yeah, they had to be disconnected as i firmly believe the neighbours would have hit me on the back of the head with a big bit of wood if i had left them plugged in.
zeppelin is better than all your shite ;-)

I'm currently on and would recommend the Klipsch Image S4i Rugged. The should work well on the bike with the extra large remote buttons.
However despite them being 9-months in and still going strong. I wouldn't be surprised if they suffer the same fate as most modern headphones and break after 2-years-ish.

Opted for "Run Dmc - Raising Hell" to kick it off with and the sound quality was far better than I expected. Have a feeling the neighbours might be getting pissed off with me soon. Already looking at a Sonos Play 1 for the Kitchen and as suggested a WD my cloud.

I sometimes sound like a marketing rep for Sonos. But as a product it's about the only thing I can think of that has exceeded expectations. Wildly. It's a good bit of kit that has us playing music, everywhere, all the time. Great stuff.

Show us your HIFI System, by howies on Jan 18, 2014 6:19:48 GMT 1, After reading here first about Sonos I decided last week to buy a couple of play3's , I was blown away firstly by how simple it was to set up straight out of the box, I had my favourite radio, iTunes and pandora playing straight of my iPhone, it is something I have wanted but didn't know where to start, secondly the sound was amazing so crisp and clear, I do like a little more base but after the wife got to enjoy it from her phone I have been afforded the luxury to buy the Sub which although expensive is a piece of art in its self, not content with that as I have had some Niles outdoor speakers laying around so picked up a connect amp and wired them up and now have awesome sounds outside as well, best investment in a while ? love it

Awesome, out of interest what plug situation did you use for the shave socket? Just an adaptor?

Show us your HIFI System, by galaxyq on Jan 18, 2014 10:43:30 GMT 1, Don't underestimate the wife factor. These things are so easy and intuitive to use that she'll ask you to be buying more. When the heck has that happened with electronics?
We've had classic stereo systems our entire lives. For 25 years the process hasn't changed: turn on the amp, select the CD input, press play on the CD remote. She couldn't figure that out ever, regardless of the amp, cd player, remote, location, speakers, etc.
I'd say within 5 minutes of downloading the Sonos controller for her she was zipping her way around and hasn't stopped (an aside: the controller is the worst part of the Sonos experience IMHO; an upgrade is surely coming). It was her idea to get one for the bathroom!
So men, if you want permission to upgrade your stereo, very quietly buy a bit of Sonos kit. Pretty soon you'll have them everywhere, and she'll think it was her idea!
