Brexit, by dogstar on Oct 18, 2019 18:04:29 GMT 1, Have the government released the impact assessments of this deal yet? Would be handy for Parliament to know what they're debating ahead of any vote. Sajid David, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, said this week: ”I see no need for a new impact assessment.”
In other words, "it's very, very bad news, so we're not releasing it".

Brexit
Oct 18, 2019 21:09:35 GMT 1
Brexit, by dogstar on Oct 18, 2019 21:09:35 GMT 1, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab (the imbecile who was formerly Brexit Secretary when he incredulously said “I hadn’t quite understood the full extent of this, but if you look at the UK and look at how we trade in goods, we are particularly reliant on the Dover-Calais crossing.") said today that Northern Ireland’s part in the Brexit deal is a positive because: “They will remain in the UK but also have equal access to the Single Market.”
So exactly like what the rest of the UK has (but won't, post-brexit) while currently in the EU, you painfully ludicrous bellpipe.
Astonishing that Fraser Nelson and The Spectator are just now promoting UK leaving the Single Market on the basis of the benefits that Northern Ireland will have by not leaving the Single Market and retaining all of the customs union benefits that the rest of the UK are losing!
He says the deal "gives companies a strong incentive to relocate to Northern Ireland, where they’d benefit from frictionless EU access and future UK trade deals."
Madness, if you think about it.
Sadly, too few do or have done.

Brexit, by nex on Oct 18, 2019 22:06:33 GMT 1, Lol so your now basically admitting you have no clue at all, you just want brexit. Just a sheep following the flock. Although in this instance its more like sheep/lemming crosses. I don’t want to be ruled by someone whom I can’t vote for amongst other things, such as when we had to pay to bail Greece out of the eurozone even though we weren’t part of the eurozone, then when we vetoed it we were ignored I would quite happily stay in the EU if we scrapped the welsh assembly scrapped the House of Lords and parliament got ruled directly by the EU and had a say in who was running things also pay the same taxes on alcohol cigarettes fuel etc
So ..... errr .... right .... well .... it’s an opinion I guess

It is a bit shit though to be fair. Part of the reason we ALL bailed Greece, is because we are in a club and have each others backs. Your theory behind copping the arse for bailing Greece is that you probably think it couldnt happen to us, it could, be assured of that.
That second bit is a bit mad too, mainly since you have previously stated your hatred of the potential expansion of the EU project, now you want more not less. It seems you now want no EU because you are unable to have more EU? Have your cake, with extra cake, or f**kthe cake altogether.
Make your mind up at least.

Am i right in thinking there will now probably be a fine trade in smuggled goods between north and south Ireland? Which of course wont create a need for a land border with active searches/checks. Im sure thats how it will work.

She went on to ask The Speaker that if Johnson refuses and The Speaker is then asked by the judge to write the letter, will he do so?
Yes, he replied, indeed he will write the letter.

Brexit, by rebate on Oct 19, 2019 15:31:42 GMT 1, Bojo just said he wont write the extension letter, so he is off to prison maybe. Interesting theory, but it doesnt make sense. They really havnt done themselves any damage, they have just ruined the tories though. Incapable of doing anything now. Just a driverless car (no not the google type, just a normal car with no driver) rolling down the road. A political ghost train if you will. Funny as hell seeing the Tory benches clearing before Joanna Cherry QC reminded House of the legal case compelling the PM to write a letter an extension returns at the Court of Session when it recommences on Monday morning.
She went on to ask The Speaker that if Johnson refuses and The Speaker is then asked by the judge to write the letter, will he do so?
Yes, he replied, indeed he will write the letter. Dam, missed that bit! Thats great news! They obviously knew what the process was going to be, but its nice to know it is that easy! Court ruling assumed of course.

Brexit, by rebate on Oct 19, 2019 15:33:40 GMT 1, Glad you acknowledge how absolutely useless he continues to be. I acknowledge that you cannot spell simple words Interesting one from the great oracle that was today due to celebrate world domination (from a very very small island in a fkin massive world!), but is instead forced to eat large slices of humble pie.
"its all going rather fekin badly right now......

And I acknowledge that you don't know the difference between singular and plural.
