Graffiti Prints archive vaults open today, by nighthawk on Dec 28, 2018 3:23:33 GMT 1, He answered you...a few times! No more than 10% of the run is APโs/PPโs. He canโt give you an โexactโ number as it would depend on run size.
So go on now, and track down the 15 or so copies (APโs and PPโs) of Hopscotch that youโre blabbering on about. You have some weird collectorโs thing of having to own them all, and thatโs why youโre pissy? ๐ ๐คฃ

Did he? Because all I've seen are posts jumping around what I asked which are seeing exact numbers to these editions that magically pop up in vault sales and apparently now random emails when he's in a good mood. It's also just tough for me to comprehend because some of these artists when you email, mention they get 30-50 aps which would technically be 25%-30% of some of these editions.

GP stated multiple times, that the proofs are up to 10% of the run. So unless you have some concrete proof (like a pic of your 30-50 AP's of any one of GP's releases), why don't you give it a rest now. This is getting a little tiresome.

Not having a dig but as a collector it would be nice to know How many exist in a series of prints if you collect a particular artist , OCD in this hobby๐
As previously mentioned by many and agree great packaging and printing , but some people like to buy a limited image after paying a high price , takes away the rarity and value if the edition increases
Example
urbanartassociation.com/thread/128233/graffiti-prints-article
If you look at whatsons print in this pic there are quite a few pink versions unknown previously at time of pic ,there are a few different coloured background versions also but numbers unknown the same with framed and angels , acid yellow, lime green and sky blue background

Seriously every single gig print artist, Mondo artist and artists that deal with editions 175-250. It's just common practice for high editions. Higher the edition the higher amount of aps. I believe even Shepard Fairey keeps 10% of the edition plus 35 prints. www.thegiant.org/wiki/index.php/Artist%27s_Proof

Graffiti Prints archive vaults open today, by tab1 on Dec 28, 2018 13:26:16 GMT 1, Happy Xmas everyone We have always said from day one we keep up to 10% of an edition for later to do shows and vault sales Plus we have proofs which are never more than 10% of an edition, usually a lot less after replacements etc All artists sign and agree numbers so the people who email artists and suggest itโs terrible we are selling proofs is insulting them in my opinion as all know exactly where they stand with the edition in question I said this before here etc but mr tab has still not forgiven us for calling him out for selling whatson stickers on canvases representing them as originals on eBay All the other haters are just jealous imo we do what we do well, look after every artist and their print works. Hence we are now in our 7th year still producing cracking prints Street art is such a small world and word travels fast and our rep just grows with artists as we do it the right way Someone mentioned pow they did do vault sales on banksy etc in the form of pdf to vip collectors, you just had to be on the list. We do it upfront and for everyone which was the concept way back in 2012 for everyone donโt hide it, no smoke and mirrors etc Just great prints and great prices which is what we do. Why should we sell at release prices years later it does not make sense We sell at what we are prepared to part with it for! All items from yesterdayโs sale were from our Berlin show 2017 print show at urban nation from the print rack I been putting off emptying Easier to list and sell than put away Just wanted to clear that up and defend our honour! Happy Xmas everyone Hope itโs been a great year for you all and next year, even better! Next release is pez mirage put back from November to end jan

Found the original thread
You made a fuss , the hand painted stickers by whatson were even listed at 99p I forgot ! Not everyone has money to afford the image and is a cheap way to enjoy an original in sorts for peanuts .
Same as whatson free mini prints you give away selling for ยฃ200+ is that justified , they were free?
Hand painted stickers are sold by various people for ยฃ50-ยฃ100 now
As whatson hand painted a lot in the early days before joined your gallery.
I would at the time listed for market price if I was acting as you were insinuating which was ยฃ700-ยฃ1000 at the time not 99p even back then people were listing stickers at ยฃ60
You get annoyed for insinuating nonsense yet you do the same
was described as stickers painted by whatson. Whatson was ok with them but you made the fuss? Which you all agreed they were painted by whatson .
Don't think anyone is faking the artist or he is even at that level yet

No there stickers stuck on a canvas by the seller, what a con esp the description!!!
Martin never intended for the hand painted stickers to be mounted on canvas and sold as his work
Also it sold for ยฃ335 for a sticker mounted onto canvas and you defend it?
Even if a banksy sticker I would be gutted to buy it at that price or maybe you think the person who bought it thought it was a canvas like the above quote asking is it real not signed etc.

How is it a con When they are listed with all the details you said at a ยฃ1? Read the original thread .
You got annoyed as you were pumping up the artists prices at the time to get new clients Have old emails from artists too explaining and me listing cheap damages this . You have your views and protecting your interests is understandable
I dig up some old threads and articles from others to define a con with some of your practices
They are stickers , what did the artist envisage what would be the placement for these? What is allowed?
A graffiti artist that worries about placements that adds pastes ups graffitis in public spaces , illegally and legally? Hmmmm

you can throw all the s**t you want but it wont go away ยฃ335 wow what a con!
How is it a con When they are listed with all the details you said at a ยฃ1? Read the original thread . You got annoyed as you were pumping up the artists prices at the time to get new clients Have old emails from artists too explaining and me listing cheap damages this . You have your views and protecting your interests is understandable I dig up some old threads and articles from others to define a con with some of your practices They are stickers , what did the artist envisage what would be the placement for these? Only went to that amount as you placed bids! This was years ago now and your point is All that you mentioned was listed ? In English !
You and your printing of enpointe is a definition of a con. The original artist had no idea you used his image until a year or two after your release
And the multiple re hashes and re releases more of a con .
Obviously a sore note from you as you keep repeating yourself to divert attention from your shady concepts , art neveou, gp prints , vault sales , eBay accounts , charity sales to release more prints ,good luck on all your business ventures .

Classy owner , started off well but so full of anger now
Use to have a nice touch printing more prints when a edition sold out to keep customers happy selling at original costs
Now just keep back and sell at market price or above for vault sales
Just use facts instead of bitching
I spoke with Martin this morning about how bad we both felt about the genuine buyers who were refunded on the print due to oversell. There were 12 genuine refunds that were not multiple purchases etc, therefore we have decided to do a refund edition in a white background for the people refunded, it will be an edition of 12 at the variant price as there was only 2 grey refunded. I know what it feels like to be refunded and hope this make unhappy customers happy again! We hate to oversell and are looking at the cart so this never happen again! It will take at least 4 weeks to produce and Martin to finish them then he will send them out. Go through refunds at the weekend and contact buyers. All the pest Gp

Graffiti Prints archive vaults open today, by tab1 on Dec 28, 2018 16:12:08 GMT 1, another GP post, another copyright furore ensues srsly though, do people have no f**king shame in what they rip off ? its a good point and i thought about it. most of these types of works i have always found expensive or try to hard to be slink, i loved slink when they were Polaroid's, but big fancy pieces from the gallery i dont dig or the prices. i liked these as they were for the mantel piece, asked a question in the viewer and were in jam jars as opposed to photo's printed out...
Sounds a bit like me selling stickers ? But your justifying copying another artists work and making profit ? At least mine were by the artist ?

If anyone does read it or would be interested in knowing, Martin Whatson and my father came to an agreement about the 3 paintings he copied of his! It would have been looads cheaper for him to have just asked copyright permission!! For those who commented saying I was a random troll I'm not, was all legit! [br
And your moaning about stickers?!!!!! Bigger Cons out there ?

The con being?
Martin copied his picture in stencil, not the first artist and probably not the last esp early in career with no experience
When it came to light the artist got in touch
I rang him personally and sorted it out within 2 days and paid.
The print sold for less than ยฃ200 and is worth ยฃ1000+
Who was conned
As I said you full of s**t

Practice what you preach ?
There' are many more questionable practices you have conducted , only posting as example as you keep making such a point about the stickers ?
Your business so you do as you please , you have many happy customers and a few that will question, that's life, nothing is plain sailing . Your printing is great and post and packing prompt and safe , I only questioned editions as a collector like to collect Rare limited items . I am sure if banksy collectors were to find out later more prints released at later dates they would be annoyed , not comparing any artists in your stable to banksy yet๐And the forum is here to discuss questions ,points , theories?

Rang him after you got found out His son or daughter quoted that their father contacted the artist first and by the sounds of it going down the legal route so try not to make out your the saint and contacted first, why not cleared before printing if you knew you needed clearance ? They even said would of been cheaper if you cleared copyright first rather than paying a percentage after ? Not competent in managing your artists affairs and dragging them into negative pr. Who's talking ..... now?

Graffiti Prints archive vaults open today, by nobokov on Dec 28, 2018 16:52:31 GMT 1, What a strange thread. Why do angry customers believe that they're entitled to pay less than market rates from a publisher, just because they're the publisher? Their release prices are very affordable for most of their artists, one of the last companies offering prints at good prices, while the trend this year has been to release at very high prices. It's a business and I assume that vault releases help them to stay in business and continue to offer affordable releases. If you can't afford the vault price then move on. Why complain about it?

Con being the original artist did not benefit originally and only informed way after all were sold so would of not gained anything for their work until he found out himself
175 prints x ยฃ200 =ยฃ35000
Plus the later vault sales At ยฃ600 Canvases and metal brass editions Estimating over ยฃ60000 in sales if the original artist didn't find out so quite a big con ?

Why complain about it? from my point I can afford , just a normal conversation as of late.๐Not asking for lower prices or complaining about pricing as it would be more beneficial to me at prices increasing it's just the increased amounts later on . From my point a business is to be profitable to succeed so fair play.just would not collect certain artists if knew amounts were constantly increased or go chasing certain prints on the secondary market at high prices as it devalues in the long term once people are aware of so many editions . He's entitled to do as chooses as his business but when portrayed sold as a limited edition it should be limited to that , very rarely previously unless extreme value for test press , printers proofs , artist proofs to come onto the market but now very common .

There are loads of snippets of info here in old threads of extra prints ,
along the years info is some are held back for shows , some held back for print damage , now 10% kept for pp , same percentage applies to test press and aps? I have had quite a few test press pieces but not numbered ? Are the screens kept after printing ?
Just for example many bought enpoint for way over cost after release not knowing then 10% pp would be released later then there were aps and test prints of the same edition at vault sales just started around the same time the release year All I'm asking if on a release of a edition if sold out the amount of all other prints of the same print whether being pp,ap,tt is released to the public they can choose to contact gp, wait for vault sales or eBay saves overpaying on eBay ๐And if a buyer still would like to buy as each new edition generally increases in amount
