Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by LJCal on Mar 6, 2021 21:35:07 GMT 1, Yes it’s on eBay for auction, there’s a week left to run so if someone makes a sensible offer happy to end auction early. Cancelling an auction once bids are received could lead to an eBay ban. It’s not the easiest thing to do That’s incorrect, you can end an auction early if the item is no longer available they just charge you sellers fees if you do so which in this case is £1.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by LJCal on Mar 6, 2021 23:14:30 GMT 1, I can assure you that 70% is absolutely fine where I have hung this, I only use 99% on pieces hung in rooms that receive sunlight it’s really not rocket science. The piece has zero fading and as I said if someone who makes a genuine offer needs to inspect it out of the frame that can be arranged and I’m sure they will be 100% happy with the condition as I was when I bought it. I don’t ever want someone to be unhappy with a purchase and have any hassle down the track, so I want any buyer to be completely comfortable. It's not just natural sunlight to clarify, unless you placed it in a dark room. Anyway, glwts, cracking print. Thanks, for the conservation heads I believe that LED bulbs produce very little UV which is what I tend to use, I believe some high wattage incandescent and fluorescent bulbs can emit a degree of UV. Would be good to hear anyone else’s thoughts who has knowledge of this?

Led emits a different type of light, so perhaps less photodegradation than other sources, but still a factor ledlightinginfo.com/can-led-lights-fade-artwork

Would be good to hear anyone else’s thoughts who has knowledge of this? UV filtering on glazing will protect against the most energetic (and therefore the most damaging) of light waves, but it should be kept in mind that the standard light waves of visible light are also energetic, and also can accelerate the rate at which paper ages, and that all light damage is cumulative over time. UV filtering glazing will help to reduce the rate at which paper discolours, but it won't prevent it 100%. Simple measures to limit light exposure such as switching off lights and closing curtains when a display area is not in use will also help. Light is only one factor that contributes to deterioration with oxygen another important factor that cannot be easily eliminated. So if you want street art perfect - keep it in a sealed box in the dark;) No worries, found out some interesting facts and keeps the thread bumped

With oil and acrylic on say canvas, wood or linen I will generally not protect these with glass based on the advice Ive been given but I do keep them out of direct sunlight. Do these tend to be less sensitive than works on paper or should they be protected with glass or Perspex?

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Deleted on Mar 8, 2021 17:18:35 GMT 1, Paintings acrylic/oil are a lot more robust than watercolours, prints. Most artists tend to finish their works with a uv spray/varnish. Non of my canvass are under perspex or glass, I think you want to see and feel the medium. The most important thing is art is there to be enjoyed, keep out of direct sunlight. Pull blinds down etc. I've used these guys in one room in our house with a number of windows. Pretty easy to fit yourself (or they'll do it) and you won't know its there.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by KGR on Mar 9, 2021 3:09:34 GMT 1, do you know how much it was worth when it was framed ? Do you know how much it was worth when framed with a low level of UV protection? How much does something need to be worth before giving a shit about its care and longevity? Anything of personal or monetary value for me, that includes Limited Edition , such as this, at the point of framing. Don't skimp on cheap glazing. First time I've seen someone glass shamed on here.....

Is she/you still working with Neon Specialists? I had something made with them for a project a few years back and he was working on a few Emins in the studio - it was lush to see.
Mega jealous.

She’s only designing Neons for shows and not releasing any more editions, they don’t fabricate the editions until they are sold generally. I expect she may except commissions for a big piece.

Banksy • Weston Super Mare Print, by Happy Shopper on May 5, 2021 22:33:42 GMT 1, Probably good to post pictures of how it looks now, not just how it looked before restoring.
Judging from some auction results a small amount of damage doesn’t seem to effect value much... but I don’t follow results that closely!
So, if you want to sell anyway, and you get offered a good price, then would you even need compensation too !?
