Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by Happy Shopper on Aug 8, 2018 18:36:05 GMT 1, I had a query about my order so thought I'd also ask James about the canvas image. His reply: "All I can say is this. The guy in my images is Banksy. They are absolutely authentic" So make of that what you will. Is that really Robert englund in your avatar ?
No. It's Freddy.

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by Happy Shopper on Aug 8, 2018 18:47:20 GMT 1, I had a query about my order so thought I'd also ask James about the canvas image. His reply: "All I can say is this. The guy in my images is Banksy. They are absolutely authentic" So make of that what you will. It appears this may be two of first two. The canvas one has an interesting discription: "Variant work from Banksy, Wall and Piece/Random House (2005)." That with the previous photo showing a random guy makes me think that is not actually of banksy. I mean it's not 3D right ( I'm joking)
Well, he's quite specific about saying "the guy in my images is Banksy". But I could easily imagine a series of various people, dressed the same, all holding the canvas in front of them... Which could be where the Banxy (guy laughing) photo comes from. Or, it could actually be that guy, standing in for Banksy, in the photo.
Either way it's still a "portrait of banksy"... Discuss.

It's as simple as that. And if you like them by them, if you don't like them don't buy them. Didn't think this post would create so much 'noise' but hey ho. Shared because personally I think they're cracking images, good value and a part of the story/history. Some good points and debate on the thread and the usual nonsense that some people post. Guess that's how this place goes. If you're buying a pic or pics - enjoy ๐๐

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by .dappy on Aug 10, 2018 15:20:58 GMT 1, ... these photo prints look great ... and iconic images ...
... to be published, sold, stamped and signed by the original photographer on quality photographic print c-type material ... and with a clear association with banksy is a little bit special ...
... yes, I will be buying a set ... not too fussed about the edition size, as I would not be sure that they would all be sold tbh, but if they are then no problem ... think of the price some people pay for a print - glicee or otherwise ...
... I suppose the photographer does not want to limit his potential sales ...
... anyway my post is not about value, it's about iconic images coming from the source and signed ...
... PS: they are not the size of your 'normal' photo ... they bigger/about A5 size ...

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by Hubble Bubble on Aug 10, 2018 16:02:54 GMT 1, I really like the pixilated image. Of the three, that's the classic 'Banksy portrait' IMHO. I don't generally buy the peripheral Banksy stuff - stickers, photos etc but, as an official release from the 'official photographer' this could work as part of my B collection.

Agreed, I think that it is an iconic image in the whole Banksy story and more than stands up as a work of art in it own right.

As Harveyn said earlier in the thread - rare to be able to get items such as this these days.

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by stevec on Aug 11, 2018 1:07:08 GMT 1, agreed with Dappy here - iconic images with a connection to Banksy and a limited run so makes them collectible. my bet is a year from now they'll be sold here for significantly more due to simple rule of supply and demand.

Clearly,they are the same.
I would take the image from Banksy's own book to be" 'the' pixelated photo of Banksy".

I'm referring to the other from LAZ.
I think a previous post showed a random guy (unless we are to believe that is banksy) holding the pixel canvas in the images you are sharing.
I'm not sure with that we can authorize that image as 'the' banksy. Or is that guy actually banksy?
It seems Lazs other portraits are accepted as 'the' banksy so would you say his version of the pixel isn't?

None of the above is really relevant .The image in his own book is obviously 'authorized' by the man himself, surely?

Based on your simple deduction the revealed man holding the canvas is banksy. Is that what you believe?

Exactly. That's my point. It's not a simple cut and dry analysis.
