Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by Rouen Cathedral on Aug 13, 2018 21:29:38 GMT 1, I had a query about my order so thought I'd also ask James about the canvas image. His reply: "All I can say is this. The guy in my images is Banksy. They are absolutely authentic" So make of that what you will. It appears this may be two of first two. The canvas one has an interesting discription: "Variant work from Banksy, Wall and Piece/Random House (2005)." That with the previous photo showing a random guy makes me think that is not actually of banksy. I mean it's not 3D right ( I'm joking)
Now the monkey one notes 'variant work'. No longer on pixel one.
The way people analysis on here I'm shocked no one else is interested in this description.

Why the fuck not? Heโs a photographer. Itโs the way he makes a living. What do you do for a living? Do people criticise you for wanting to be paid for it? Thank fuck that there are people out there being creative, and weโre not all mealy mouthed critics. Weโd have nothing to criticise and complain about, eh?

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by Gurn on Aug 13, 2018 21:32:41 GMT 1, I don't know...What I do know is that the person who took the photo says that the picture is of Banksy...and that the photo appears in Banksy's book. Exactly. That's my point. It's not a simple cut and dry analysis. Nothing is, with Banksy...but I'm pretty sure that if the photographer was trying to mislead us, these would've been pulled by now.

No need to get upset. I personally think they are overpriced. Just like others and just like others state on every for sale thread from any artist. Do you always yell out when someone says this? Or just me?

Maybe. I'm leaning towards them being pretty close to what they are described as. I think there are some interesting questions or discrepencies though as I've outlined.
So many threads and releases and everything in the drop thread from the John's to the Lichtenstein etc and the invader cat thread were combed thru down to where a period was located in trying to decipher what they actually are. Just intrigued that the descepenices on these seem to be glossed over without second thought. I'm really just trying to decipher exactly what they are.

I wont. Not sure what the harm is to say my opinion though. Especially when others may question if this is a steal or good deal. Seems that kind of opinion sharing is par for the forum. No?

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by iamzero on Aug 13, 2018 22:40:06 GMT 1, Genuine question though. Why would a photograph require an A/P edition? I understand why in a printed edition when the artist would receive some from the printer to sell outside of the edition and for testing things but a photo I donโt quite see the reason? Any photographers out there... I do like these photos though.

You are a knob, you know you are
when ever a thread comes up with Banksys name attached, I just know you'll make some negative comments, ask some questions that you wont like the answer too, piss a few people off. Then get defensive, ask why you cant ask questions.
Its boring, really boring, and it grates too, you cant be like this in real life surely?
Bet you're a nice chap in real life
But fuck me, on here its like You are a stuck record, how many years have you regurgitated the same questions?
its shit, I dont like it, why dont you think its shit, too expensive, not real, fake, rubbish, i cant believe you don't think its shit, why cant i ask a question, why are you picking on me for asking questions, you didnt answer my question, why cant you give me the answer i want.

I dont get any APs these days
Could understand them years ago, they are no different at all now are they? Any of them?
Is it like the first few run off what ever they are run off and checked by the artist/ photographer before they run off the main edition?

Personally I think these are great photographs. One in the NPG. All of Banksy and signed editions by the authorized photographer.
They also look really great in person. Happy to have these in my humble collection.
As far as price goes they are not inexpensive but highly reasonable given the subject. Just my opinion of course.

Any photographers out there... I do like these photos though. I asked James pretty much the same question before deciding to go for these APs. He explained that whilst the APs were identical to the main edition that they were produced by the printer for him to check over first, to make sure that he was happy with the quality before printing the whole edition. That aside, they are numbered from a smaller edition AP1/3, etc, which for many collectors (myself included) is strangely appealing

There are two pixel photos. One by Laz and the one here and in Wall and Piece. Are they both banksy? Who is the guy holding the one in Wall and piece and for sale (someone posted an image of the guy's face holding the canvas)? Is that banksy? If not is the photo really if banksy?
Why the description of 'variant' in the sales links. Was on pixel image and now on monkey image?
Those are my main questions. And maybe there aren't answers... But that doesn't mean they shouldn't be asked in my opinion.
As for price I do think it's high. I'm sure others are fine with it and that's cool. But when you can get bankys little black books or even wall and piece for pennies compared to this id choose them 100x every time. I'd argue those are more 'authentic' but that might be just me.

I thought it was on the pixel one at one point but maybe that was a mistake or I saw wrong.

Banksy Photo Prints by James Pfaff, by blerd on Aug 14, 2018 11:17:21 GMT 1, agreed with Dappy here - iconic images with a connection to Banksy and a limited run so makes them collectible. my bet is a year from now they'll be sold here for significantly more due to simple rule of supply and demand. Nope... its all about elasticity of supply and demand ... .dappy

Nope... its all about elasticity of supply and demand ... .dappy Yep, 490 remaining Monkey Mask Tag, 493 of Happy Chopper, 492 of pixelated photo, 99 of Painting Canvas 1 and none sold of canvas 2 (both edition of 100). 5 pages in and so far ony 26 sold from all combined editions of 1700 + AP's. The demand is obvious.
ยฃ347,054.91 for the editions of 500 + 3 APs, + another ยฃ72.097.94 for the 2 new editions of 100 + 3 AP's = ยฃ419,152.85. The supply is obvious.
If these were priced at around the ยฃ50 per print - then the demand for the supply would have been even more significantly obvious.
