If you're only looking at the first two lines on the line-up then you're doing Glastonbury all wrong. It's a good day festival but an incredible night time festival.

First time in 5 years (not counting the covid years). I've not been since 2016 but I've been 13 times before that. Son came along and then daughter so I've not managed to get the chance. Thought I might try and sneak in this weekend as plenty of friends working but it's looking trickier than previous years. I got offered a stewarding job with ticket but had to turn it down as it started Monday for a week. Can't escape for that long unfortunately. Maybe I'll try and buy actual tickets next year. Maybe.

Glastonbury Festival, by 1nkling on Jun 24, 2024 16:40:46 GMT 1, I'm going this year for the first time, though not until Wednesday morning. Keen to hear any tips and meet for any beers/ciders/whatever. I've been 14 times. Not going this year though. Haven't been since we had the family although we talk about going with the kids one year maybe.
Try not to over plan. Theres a billion things to see and you'll never see them all. The site is huge and spending your time yomping around to fit in every band cuts in to the time for just experiencing it all. Go with the flow a bit. Certainly the very best times I've had were things I didn't mean to see/do. Find the dragon in the stone circle field.
Pack your stuff and then take half of it out. You never need it all. For food you can just pack things like fruit & nut mixes, energy bars, etc but you can eat well at the festival if you're canny. Every stall is encouraged to provide a £6 festival food offering and 300 have signed up to it this year. You can get some great meals in the green fields. Big salads, curries, etc. Avoid the stalls near the main stages as they tend to be pricey and a bit mass churned out and crap.
I could probably keep going. Check out the Efestivals forum Glastonbury section. Theres a wealth of knowledge on there.
