COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by kfroms on Sept 21, 2019 13:46:10 GMT 1, I think people could probably show some compassion too. She was in hospital on her deathbed so signing big prints in NYC probably wasn’t going to be possible.
Of course. And thats a valid reason. But CE could have been upfront with it.

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by Pawel on Sept 21, 2019 14:01:00 GMT 1, Hmm pretty poor to change the language of the signature on the back of the Pensato print IMO, anybody got a screen shot of the original language? I'm pretty sure it just said signed and dated by the artist and nothing about archival stickers. Certainly understandable that she couldn't sign if she was sick but I don't think it's unreasonable that a buyer paying several thousand dollars should expect the printing house to post the description properly. They know the importance of provenance and signatures.
Original said It was singed by the artist. Numbered, signed and dated by the artist if I remember correctly.
They are happy to refund, so no need of the screen shot.

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by jayawesum24 on Sept 21, 2019 14:18:19 GMT 1, I guarantee that if it was stated in the beginning, people will still be drooling/buying it. No big deal in my book, idk why people are making it a big deal. (I get it to a certain extent but still) Throughout my yrs of collecting, I've seen so many editions out there that are signed differently. Exhibition A for example, Erik Parkers canvas prints etc. Then you have editions with signed COA’s, etc etc. Same crap to me,s**t I’ll bet people will still be dreaming in la la land crying like lil girls if they bought a Kaws print like that for the low. Smiling from ear to ear. Like i said no biggie but I know everybody is different, 🤷🏻♂️
Good read tho, love seeing people opinions.

I truly feel for the health issues..
But released post mortem, sticker signed.. this feels now like more of an estate release, not artist. Sorry

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by Winter on Sept 21, 2019 14:39:05 GMT 1, I’ve bought original art that is unsigned but comes with official provenance. I don’t believe it’s devalued. I think there is a different mentality with prints particularly on this forum as the value of Banksy prints is massively different between signed and unsigned. I still think it’s odd that he sold the same print with the cheaper option of unsigned. I’d say those that are worried about the Pensato print purchased it for one reason.

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by Zero Hero 2 on Sept 21, 2019 14:49:08 GMT 1, I agree. It does seem weird that the Harland Miller is still sitting there. As unless I'm mistaken £12k - although a lot of money - is not a bad price compared to other HM penguin prints that are offered on the secondary market. Aren't ones of the same size going for anything like £15-20k having risen from the original price release due to his popularity? And if HM still continues to be an 'investable artist' as they say then I presume these prints/prices will still go up over a longer period of time? Although not if they don't sell out at all! Could be number of reasons of the slow sale 1) Price point just too high in a Brexit/cautious money period? 2) Price point too high for flippers to make quick sale out of? 3) Counter Editions not advertising the campaign enough - they only have 8k on instagram - doesn't seem that high and are they really global? 4) Harland potentially bursting? Can't see it but it happens. He's still touted as an 'investable artist' but how did his Hong Kong show go down? All new work and away from the successful penguin series. I haven't read anything that it went well/badly/sold out etc These are only open ended suggestions which I don't know the answer of but it does seem weird, interesting, and then dull 😂 I was in at £7.5k but obviously not Very Important Enough to get the early nod and then just a bystander in all the kerfuffle. But agree that Harland Miller and his people can't be too happy with it. At his level you'd expect a sell out or at least tiering up to crazy prices - unless that is what the 12/15k price is now? Discuss? Javelin? Shot Putt?
...how do you count the Harland to 12? 20% of 18 is 14400 or have I missed something?

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by coller on Sept 21, 2019 15:03:38 GMT 1, yeah, they should have disclosed that it was signed on a sticker.
they told everyone the print was signed, and... the print is not signed.
that would present issues for me as the sticker will eventually fall off the print.
it also changes the nature of the print a bit for me, because i was under the impression that pensato saw the final product and signed it herself, as kind of a mark of approval if that makes sense?

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by nobokov on Sept 21, 2019 15:28:11 GMT 1, I think people could probably show some compassion too. She was in hospital on her deathbed so signing big prints in NYC probably wasn’t going to be possible.

Kind of ridiculous to ask for a refund for a collector's pet peeve. Looking at how frail she looked in this picture and cringing at the thought of someone asking her to sign a bunch of stickers.

Having watched my parents both die in similar situation, I could never own a piece like this personally

What a depraved act to plop a print in front of someone for a photoop and post it to advertise a print sale. Is 100% of the profit going to charity?

Fall off? like an apple from a tree

Does that mean all the Hirst edition stickers will fall off too?
It was there one minute, then..... fuck me it fell off
Maybe if you hang it over a rad or in sunlight it will fall off?
Send it back, get a refund, move on

You’re right!! But.. this is the last documented print she was apart of. IMO this is the last postmortem piece she was apart of. Signed. Was aware she’s signing. Making it a solid piece. To own. Anything else is an estate piece. But I bet they have a ton of stickers. I wonder if they have a few tucked on the sly that are actually signed on the print.
I’m interested in buying one more. DM me

COUNTER EDITIONS UPCOMING PORTFOLIO RELEASE, by Happy Shopper on Sept 21, 2019 18:26:15 GMT 1, It doesn’t bother me at all that she had to sign stickers to be added after... especially in the circumstances. She obviously wanted her last edition signed and they worked out a way to make it happen. I have a feeling she proofed these prints a long while ago. Maybe even 2016/17, but never got around to signing them.
Also, the Heni Hirst editions are all signed on stickers on the back. I’ve not heard any complaints.
