Also judging by some of the art for sale by galleries a few layers of hard to see thru plastic would improve it

UV Protection Glass โข Museum Glass, by crash7 on Oct 23, 2014 22:49:41 GMT 1, I have recently bought a framed print, the framing seems ok, I may change it eventually, however for the moment I would like to confirm if UV glass has been used, is this possible?
Thanks

UV Protection Glass โข Museum Glass, by Deleted on Oct 23, 2014 22:59:55 GMT 1, Two ways of telling, one easier than the other. First on the back there is usually a sticker stating what type of glass used, the second is if you look closely at the glass from an angle you can see small wavy lines in the glass if its UV. That's what I was told once anyway.

Also my try Vue museum glass has a green tint at certain angles. I believe other brands possess other such tints. (As an aside)

UV Protection Glass โข Museum Glass, by doctor on Oct 24, 2014 2:50:19 GMT 1, Smash it on a large, jagged piece of granite. It's important that it's granite, otherwise it might not work. If it's proper UV glass (assuming it is smashed properly against tried and true granite) the outline of the cracks will form a very distinctive U and V lettering across the horizontal. Non UV glass will just shatter.
*Note: this will only work in the northern hemisphere. If you're in the southern part of the world, the same methodology works but instead of granite, limestone lightly covered in Sheep's blood must be used (granite will yield dubious results in the Southern Hemisphere).
Alternatively listen to the guys above.

BOOM!....Dappy! "TOTU!" You know your sheezy, thought I was going a bit dark posting the "Silas" intro! You da' gentle Man!

UV Protection Glass โข Museum Glass, by searchandrescue on Oct 26, 2014 23:37:27 GMT 1, Firstly empty a massive Victorian classroom thermometer of mercury and pour onto the surface, mix with a thimbleful of saltpetre using a very fine sable brush.
Then take a magnifying glass and as the sun approaches its zenith set fire to the mixture.
Wait for the flames to go completely out. (They should leave a reddish brown [Burnt Sienna] residue in whorls)
Next break a phial of anthrax and pour into your left eye (reverse if your a left hander obvs.)
Now, carefully looking down a broken kaleidoscope, if a negative of a Bridget Riley (c.1966) painting appears it's UV glass. Mission Accomplished!
Celebrate with half a Gil of Absinthe and a few drops of Laudanum, or commiserate using the inside of a lava lamp as an eye bath. Works a treat!

Not sure how to make pictures back (feelin' the ninja!) but twisted my fingers into a W "Westside" stylee sign and pointed them at the screen. Will pour some Ovaltine onto the Axminster for you. Off to my scratcher. Yeah, was photographing. Never work with live children or animals!

Somehow the depth combined wit the film, distort the print as it gets farther away from the glass.
Peace. S
