Banksy Links, by LoveRat on Jun 6, 2006 18:08:15 GMT 1, BOE, Just had a though for a new section for the forum. You know how there's all this fake banksy stuff on ebay, mug's, t's, magnets, stamps etc etc. It would be good to have a section on real memorabilia like the Turf war glove and postcard, the di faced tenner, kate postcard, crude oils postcards etc etc. What do you think??
POLITE TAPE
DI-FACED TENNER
TURF WAR POSTCARD
TURF WAR POSTCARD AND PUMA GLOVE
TURF WAR PUMA T SHIRT

Banksy Links, by Run Pig Run on Jun 11, 2006 19:20:01 GMT 1, I know most people will laugh, but there must be loads of people who can't afford a real banksy print. I bought this on Saturday....
from....http://www.spitalfieldsartmarket.co.uk/
They have loads of Banksy photos on 'blocks' (of wood) and canvas' sounds awful but they are really good quality and where else are you gonna get 'girl with balloon' for £30?

Banksy Links, by mido on Jun 11, 2006 21:57:22 GMT 1, If they are the same as the ones I have seen all over Shoreditch / Spitalfields I think they are actually pretty poor quality and poor VFM.
When I first saw them, I thought...oh, that's a bit diffferent, but then realised they were everywhere and someone must be churning them out in a factory!

Banksy Links, by stencilope on Jun 12, 2006 12:03:03 GMT 1, I don't think that's silly at all, Bombhugger.
I bought a wonderfully done B&W photo of GWB on a concrete wall. It looked so much better in it's native surroundings than alone on a white background. Lot cheaper, too!
Even if you can afford or already have originals, why is it necessary for ALL of them to be original? I am probably going even going to replace one of my originals - scan and enlarge my Napalm into a print about 30% larger to better fit a particular wall I want to hang it on. Originality be damned. I have no problem sticking it right between two originals - I bought it to hang there, not be an investment, and the original is too small for that particular spot. Anybody want my original unsigned print when I'm done?

Yeah I agree on this, some of the stencils make far better sense as photo's in their original context, GWB is pretty meaningless without the city backdrop. bmostin over on ebay does some great hand developed B&W prints.

Yeah, bmostin does some really great stuff on ebay The way that the print prices are going up, getting good quality photos like that is about the only way that most of us can afford to get some of the pictures

Banksy Links, by RetroCanvas on Apr 29, 2007 21:04:35 GMT 1, Sorry, I haven't a clue when it was taken. I actually found this whilst googling 'space invaders'.
I've been meaning to do a space invader/retro arcade painting for ages but have been busy. wanted to look for some inspiration.

Yep, that's a nice one! I posted a picture of this one a few days before the LA show, but I guess that thread must be so deeply buried by now! It's falling apart, unfortunately... peeling off bit by bit.

Five pix of Obey going over the Love Is In the Air. You can see it in the last pic. There are suggestions that the guy in the hat is banksy. I think it was opposite the No More Heroes on Melrose.
