Signed KAWS books for sale, by Smith and Stuff on Nov 22, 2010 14:33:51 GMT 1, Thread derailed by a troll as usual.
I like to think of it this way, regardless of your opinion being right or wrong, or just poorly articulated which it always is
We are all sat in a pub having a discussion and you keep pulling faces after anyone speaks. It wouldn't be long till people started to ignore everything you say here or elsewhere, including the relevant or occasionally insightful stuff you may say accidentally . At worst you might even get punched in the face. But of course that will never happen because you hide behind a computer and use someone elses identity as your own and I doubt you would ever show your face at any social event that this forum may have in the future.
To the original post, great personalised book you have there! Did you get any time to chat with Kaws?

Freerange - I can see your point about Kaws work - I have to admit it doesn't do it for me either, especially this Spongebob piece, and especially for that money.
However if tend to have the view that if you don't like an artist or a piece of work it's more polite to say nothing than start slating it.
Ultimately I think you're being hypocritical with your approach to art criticism - Kaws has made a trademark/style out of taking a kids cartoon (smurfs/spongebob/pinochio) and putting crosses for eyes - and you slate him for that.
Yet when D*face gets criticism from members here for taking superhero images and altering them (by putting wings on them) you defend the work by saying that's his style.
Can you not just accept that Kaws has a distinct style that you don't like and others do in the same way that you like D*face's work yet others might not?
