NICK WALKER - Works Up For Mercy Appeal, by jonpud on Sept 23, 2008 14:11:29 GMT 1, Just a question, I have never seen an ebay raffle run before, does the sale page show how many tickets have been purchased to date? Or do you load it with a set amount of tickets available and the count runs down as they are bought?
Just wondering?!

NICK WALKER - Works Up For Mercy Appeal, by Dellboyy on Sept 23, 2008 14:12:03 GMT 1, Has anyone thought what they'd do with the books should they actually win one? It wouldn't seem right somehow to separate the images, but i'd be longing to frame a few of the pics!

You could frame it in something where you could keep turning the pages. That would be pretty cool. Different image depending on how you feel.

I would frame the ones i wanted to frame and hang, dont see at all why that would damage anything.

NICK WALKER - Works Up For Mercy Appeal, by Harveyn on Sept 23, 2008 14:21:08 GMT 1, "Open & Shut"This years Open & Shut sketch pads have been put together to help raise funds for the Mercy Centre Foundation www.mercycentre.org/The Mercy Centre is a non profit organization in Bangkok. They build and operate schools, improve family health and welfare, protect street children's rights, combat the AIDS crisis, respond to daily emergencies, and offer shelter to orphans, to street children, and to children and adults with AIDS - always together, hand in hand and heart to heart with the people they serve This is the first of what we hope to be many annual appeals for a different charity each year. Each year will take the format of three sketch pads that will be sent to a group of artists to produce works of their choice to help raise funds for the nominated charity. Next years event will include a limited edition book of the works produced. This yearโs contributors and people of immense generosity are as follows. Open & Shut - Y2008Book 1 Beejoir Mr Jago Chinamike Grafter Rourke Guy Denning Jef Aerosol Book 2Beejoir Matt Small Miss Bugs Mau Mau Goldie Hush Nick Walker Neverwork Book 3Beejoir Brian Jones Dale Grimshaw Herakut Case SPQR Static A full listing of the completed works can be found on the following blog. themercycentrefoundationappeal.blogspot.com/The following Galleries & Artists who have kindly agreed to help raise awareness of the appeal by adding links of this blog to their website. This list will be added to as more Galleries and Artists come on board this week. www.jonathanlevinegallery.co.ukwww.campbarbossa.comwww.edgeart.co.ukwww.eddielock.co.ukwww.souledoutstudios.comwww.welikestatic.comgrafter.bigcartel.com/www.art-el.co.uk/www.hipartgallery.comThe Main EventThe three books will be auctioned on Ebay with auctions commencing the 11.10.2008 and running for 20 days. Next year we may look to auction houses to potentially maximise the funds raised. Books 1 & 2 will be raffled on Ebay with each ticket costing ยฃ5.00 and with payment strictly by Paypal. The auction will be listed as 100% donation to charity and the payments will be made directly to the Paypal account of the registered charity. In this way we minimise fees and maximise the contribution to the nominated charity. People are more than welcome to buy more than one ticket and the unique reference number issued by Paypal will be used in the raffle process. The two winners will be announced on the 01.11.2008. Book 3 will be auctioned on Ebay with the auction again commencing on the 11.10.2008 and running for 20 days. Payment for this book will be by Paypal or Cheque only. Any Paypal payment will again be made directly to the Paypal account of the registered charity and with all cheques being made out directly to the charity. It will not be worded as such. Each individual purchase will be for a ticket for ยฃ5.00. It just so happens that the lucky holders of two tickets will receive a book filled with treats...... ;D ;D ;D ;D I am discussing this with Ebay and beleive we have an agreed solution.

I might have to do something like that, it'd certainly be a nice problem to have anyway!

How and when will you be picking the lucky winners?
Will you have an independant adjudicator (a la national lottery)? ;D
