When I grow up I want to have as much money as Ban, by gbh on Dec 27, 2006 4:04:01 GMT 1, Not sure if this has been brought up, but whoever did it should own up. It's certainly good for a laugh.
Here's the story so far as I understand it, feel free to add or correct.
100 of these numbered flyers were handed out to ppl in the queue for flags.
These are not from POW, no stamp, etc.
The text reads "When I grow up I want to have as much money as Banksy"
When the red letters are assembled from the text it reads "I want a Banksy"
lower right corner has I (heart) MWY
so, who is MWY
everyone assumes this is a banksy print, bloddy hell one is one the bay right now at $200 USD

tom, my partner was in the first 10 in the queue and was given 2. They are nice "souvenirs" of the event, but this ebay listing was a tad misleading methinks. I reckon someone thinks they've just bought a banksy.......going to be very disapointed.......

It's described as a 'flyer from the 2006 Santa's Ghetto Exhibition'. I suppose the connection with Santas Ghetto is a bit tenuous but people are still bidding £250 for a flyer- doesn't worry me though- I have two! :-)

All numbered in pencil.
Was a young (20's i would say) girl with black hair who handed them out, and said 'good luck' to a few people as she did so.
She then crossed the road, walked back past the line on the opposite side, and went up tott ct. road.
She definitely only had a very small pile of them and was there literally only a few minutes so yes they are limited.
We all thought it was something to do with the print- wondered if perhaps it was entitling us to a signed one (numbered out of 100) for being first in line, or for a lottery for them or something.
It was only when someone asked that we discovered that it was nothing officially to do with it.
Guy from POW (don't know his name) was trying to get one from someone as he liked it!
he also said to me that 'maybe it is a bonus from Banksy' and that 'maybe Banksy is a she' with a wink  ;D

print up some of these, hand them out in the queue at SG, watch everyone get swept away with the hype and see them sell on ebay for $526 USD.
Drip feed them into ebay and sell the stash you have in reserve from the original print run you did.

It was obviously an artist who just wanted to be part of the fun. It is a great image despite who made it (Banksy or an unknown artist). As you can see from past threads, I was more after that flyer than the Flag print
But now that I've secured one - who wants to sell me their Flag print for 300 GBP?

Now that is a gift indeed, being able to talk out your ass in such a clear fashion. Aimless if it wasn't for arseholes queuing from 6 in the morning to buy the prints for resale, then they wouldn't have sold out at all, and been readily available on POW / electric sheep etc.... and at the price they were ment to be sold at rather than the jumped up extortion that passes for resale prices. Please dont be too shocked when true fans and collectors dont get down on bended knee and and kiss the ground you walk on due to your ability to go to a shop, buy something then sell it to someone who will appreciate it for 5 times the price.
