TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by xmyart on Aug 8, 2011 21:30:07 GMT 1, Oh, didnt know that. Knew about the sim n credit bit, but not the network part. Could still cause a fair bit of panic if the public thought their phones were down, wouldnt be able to contact fanily etc. and if they didnt know they could still dial 999, how many wouldnt even try?. I for one probably wouldnt have tried it.

TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by xmyart on Aug 8, 2011 21:42:11 GMT 1, deffo not an option, as far as i can see. the phone networks are bound by an agrement about handing control to the government (i think its to do with times of war) the social networks are not bound by the same rules. .could be wrong, but the hupster's up on that stuff it seems.

There is a recorded message when dialing from landlines which would say lines are down and emergency lines are open.

All communication is under control from goverment including internet apart from sat phones which use multi sats high in the sky under different license though these can be shutdown down from using +44.

No point shutting down twitter etc.... there is msn etc. Local shutdown of the fibre optics boosterw ill shut down locally driven internet. Mobile phone mask locally shutdown would kill mobile network....
Blackberry just annouced that BB messages will be past onto the police. As i said the internet/networks can be shutdown in 5 mins if they wanted....
These idiots will be thinking they got away with it but its downhill from now. Some of the stuff in spooks is not too far from the truth....... CCTV tracking with face recon....

This from a birmingham web site:
Lot of people asking about the Childrens Hospital. Donโt know what to tell you. Obviously a much more sensitive subject. Lots of rumors, no solid info on that one. Letโs all hope itโs not true, clearly that would be as low as it is humanly possible to get.
If there is an attack on a childrens hospital then i will be going out to stop this. This is getting out of control. No child deserves this. Time to make a stance NOW......

TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by anodyne13 on Aug 8, 2011 22:06:33 GMT 1, I was wondering if those of you closer to the situation agreed with the assessment below:
Some, including the former London mayor Ken Livingstone, suggested the Tottenham riot had triggered pent up resentment over the weak economy, high unemployment and historically deep budget cuts that are decreasing government funding for poor communities and grass roots charities. He blamed a sense that young Britons are facing "the bleakest future."
"This is the first generation since the great depression that have doubts about the their future," he told the BBC.

no mate, they are the victims of those who control it and their future. They have no concept of it, becos thats the way they are educated, thats the way their areas are funded, thats why it kicks off in deprived areas first.
AGAIN focus on the word DEPRIVED

This came from the birmingham riot 2011 site. I hope all is safe. Contacting mate to see whats going on near the hospital. Once i know for sure then im off the protect the hospital from these cocks. Hopefully this is not happening but if it is then hopefully the riotors will need emergency treatment and die.

Ask your average 15/16 year old (chav) the un-employment statistics and see what answer you get... Deprived my a*s.
I grew up on lavender hill in a council flat on a tuff estate and i know a lot of the people who are out tonight in clapham, they are the scum from my area, nothing more. To say its the governments fault is a joke.
When i grew up in the 80's we had all sorts of riots but they had a purpose, Race, Poll tax etc etc, are you trying to tell me these people are actually rioting because there council budget has been cut this year?
