;, by barryh on Jan 10, 2017 15:05:59 GMT 1, I sampled all the papers and I decided to chose that, my printers just happen to call it Warhol paper. It's a cool name and its great, so I use it. You should buy a print off me and see for your selves ๐
Is there any chance of the actual paper info ?

Why Limited Edition Art?, by barryh on Jan 10, 2017 9:54:10 GMT 1, If any Artist is truly not interested in increasing the values of their work, they would be releasing unlimited print runs at cost price.
^^
That was the confusing bit. I guess 99% of artists still need to find a way of putting food on the table
This is probably one of the most bizarre threads I've ever seen .

Kaws X Hypebeast issue 16 2nd limited edition, by barryh on Jan 3, 2017 8:22:05 GMT 1, Excuse the ignorance, but what's the hype with this about ? Is it just for the kaws cover ? Not sure I would consider this thread "hype". Just a few folks sharing where a pretty easy pickup representing a well known artist is currently available. It's a pretty cool cover if you like KAWS work.
Most collectors on Instagram seem to have purchased multiples, they sold enough for a reprint and nobody has ever mentioned the content. In my eyes that's a kind of hype. Are people framing these ?

Should we accept flipping on this forum , by barryh on Dec 19, 2016 8:41:16 GMT 1, It's always been a huge part of this forum, but there also used to be an unwritten rule about pricing 10% cheaper than eBay... something else that's now long forgotten.

The Dean Collection X Bacardรญ Present No Commission: London, by barryh on Dec 9, 2016 15:10:25 GMT 1, I'm there now. No prints or small pieces unfortunately. I'm firmly priced out... Kai and Sunny pieces look amazing in person, as does the giant Ben Eine lenticular I'm surprised to say! (I like his stuff, but wasn't sure about the recent lenticular) So there won't be anything for sale tonight? If so will hopefully be a little quieter
I imagine it will be absolutely rammed tonight ! I bet most people queueing for prints in the morning, won't bother going to check the work out inside... I'm probably wrong, but it wouldn't be the first time it has worked out like that.

Josh Keyes timed edition, by barryh on Dec 9, 2016 8:47:21 GMT 1, Do people really care what a Coa looks like ? Maybe not, but sometimes they make for nice keepsakes that can be included in the framing job, either on the reverse or behind the frame, this sort of thing from Sylvia Ji is simple but nice....
Is the art not keepsake enough ?. COAs are pointless and didn't exist in this scene before Pest control. 99.99% of the people including them with sales now are doing so for ego purposes.

Lazarides Banksy Print Gallery, by barryh on Dec 4, 2016 16:20:46 GMT 1, Strange concept... would have made sense if Laz was selling the stockpile from old shows, but I don't quite understand purchasing from auctions to pad out the gallery. Especially as someone else mentioned , there was talk of a Middle East funded project earlier in the year

Pure Evil American Nightmares, by barryh on Nov 15, 2016 8:23:15 GMT 1, This is one of the most poignant of PE's works with the context. However, I just don't enjoy this series at all and would never put any of them on the wall. - Saying that however, I actually like the 'unfinished' part of the canvas. For me it kind of speaks of the story left un told, as in, we still have to wait to find out how this is all going to pan out, the repercussions of the 2016 Presidential election. Still, it would never ever make the wall.
Maybe this is just the photoshop design and the finished print will look different ?

Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by barryh on Nov 14, 2016 11:30:55 GMT 1, Sorry... bit late to the party but if you thought you were getting a pack originals for $15 then you are deluded... also if you can't consider language being lost in translation then you need to pick your dummy up. I'm sure plenty of money can still be made when the toys are flipped.

Where to buy Takashi Murakami Prints?, by barryh on Sept 25, 2016 11:54:54 GMT 1, I love much of Murakami, his work and his general outlook. When he was young in Japan he survived by approaching convenience stores for their past-sale-date boxed lunches and so on. A problem I have with buying the prints is they are cheap-looking, offset litho print process with some small text printed along the bottom, looking very much like posters.
I have a flowerball and it is one of the best prints I've ever seen in terms of production

Banksy - Can we all own a Banksy?, by barryh on Aug 22, 2016 12:57:06 GMT 1, Prob couldnt be arsed, whats the point, if people want a poster or postcard they can just print it off and frame it up, hes said he doesnt have an issue with that. True! Maybe if he really wanted that he could of set up a site with all his images as downloads. But the problem with that setup is it would encourage more businesses producing fake Banksy pieces and selling them as genuine to people who don't know. I agree, it would not be something he ever would dream of doing, but should an official store be started by Banksy to at least protect his name and try to clean up the sale of Banksy Art.
This option was available for a long time in his website, if people want a ยฃ10 poster that's ready to hang then just head to POW

Zedsy ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art โข New Print Release , by barryh on Aug 2, 2016 6:10:10 GMT 1, De gustibus non est disputandum... I find people's critique of art fascinating.ย Saying it is unoriginal - such a funny thing to comment on ... I do not believe Warhol invented the design of the Campbell soup can, nor Banksy the Tesco can, nor did Rembrandt invent the people he painted in the Night Watch.ย The fact that Daniel David didn't invent the mitsubishi logo doesn't detract from this as a piece of art.
The logo doesn't detract. The lack of the originality in the concept detracts. Also, just to be clear, I don't know who came up with the idea first.ย Edit: Forgot these.
Daniel has been making his since the 90s and they are beautifully hand crafted. The Zeus ones don't even compare in quality.

Blek Le Rat โข Crooner Rat, by barryh on Jul 22, 2016 16:17:07 GMT 1, I would say this is probably his best ever piece To be honest I think his work stencil work in general is pretty poor, but this one looks like it's been done with photoshop and it's a good fun image. The rat print is OK, but best ever? This gets my vote every time
This, beggar and sheep are the top 3. Crooner is nowhere near his best ever but it's definitely better than some of the stuff he has released over the last few years

Will Banksy ever use his real name?, by barryh on May 28, 2016 8:55:28 GMT 1, It's not meaninglessness or ripping people off. It's ripping off the rich to give to the poor. You think the guy has made zero income since his last print? Come on, he's not living in poverty in a box. Who paid to put up dismaland? Santa? I'm not saying it's disingenuous, it's just reality. Who paid for better in than out? Where did that money go? I love what banksy stands for, but let's be realistic about how the world works.
You are a fool of you think he hasn't sold any art since the last print. Why make Mr brainwash tripe when you can sell paintings direct to proper collectors for top money ?

SIX MONTHS SUBSCRIPTION PLAN, by barryh on May 27, 2016 7:23:24 GMT 1, It certainly is tragic, in my opinion. Who the f**k buys art that they haven't seen!? It defeats the point of a person referring to it as their art. What you are selling is simply a "possibility", the possibility they may actually get something they want for their money. This in my eyes is a shambolic attempt to make money. I'd love to hear more about this charity you're donating to, you appear to have been pretty vague about it so far. ok man This is your choice.Iย appreciate your opinion.About the charity i write many times, also on my webpage have more info.Anyway i will stop to write and bump this post.
So instead of posting the charity info, people have to hunt for it ? That cleared that up then...
