Forum Auctions โข Banksy Marketplace ๐ฌ๐ง, by Love Is In The Air on Jul 21, 2020 16:55:14 GMT 1, Rude Copper is a huge price when you consider the condition issues the print in the auction had.
With fees (I think) someone has also just paid approx 19.5k for an unsigned Toxic Mary which also seems big, Morons will be almost 25k.

Takashi Murakami x Black Lives Matter , by Love Is In The Air on Jul 17, 2020 11:35:44 GMT 1, I've just signed up to the app to have a go as I think the hand finishing splatters make these pretty cool and different to his other releases. Although am a bit worried hearing about horror stories of using this app. If anyone else can be bothered to sign up they can go into their profile afterwards and use my referral code
JefferNIOZ
then I think we BOTH get an extra draw ticket. May as well maximise our chances. Cheers

Anyone selling an unsigned Banksy for ยฃ15k?, by Love Is In The Air on Jul 1, 2020 10:25:51 GMT 1, To answer Monkey Man, the Grin Reaper listed on Hang Up is priced at ยฃ42,495.00
Last month Hang Up also had a HMV Unsigned priced at ยฃ14,995 which had a lovely red stamp but had a slight fading or some kind of mark down the left margin which put some people off. Still didn't hang around too long though and is sold now. If mint or excellent condition that would have been priced 15k+ but perhaps available just under that mark if in a private sale?
When I first joined the forum I feel sure the unsigned were approximately priced at 1/3rd of the signed versions but that has gone out the window now and seems more like 1/2 but varies from print to print.

Banksy Stickers โข All Designs, by Love Is In The Air on Jun 5, 2020 16:08:51 GMT 1, Nice thread ab3. Only have the one atm, bought from eBay so hopefully legit but will never truly know.
Always fancied getting some of the red and black ones but never managed it so far, outbid or too slow on PM-ing here or worried they were fake online. If anyone has a spare Authorised Graffiti Area one I would gladly buy and put alongside there other two in another acrylic frame for sure. The bigger stickers also seem to look great in a frame and with print prices what they are, these seem to be ยฃ500+ now

Chiswick โข Urban Art Auctions ๐ฌ๐ง, by Love Is In The Air on Jun 2, 2020 17:00:22 GMT 1, After a slow start someone eventually bid and the unsigned Grannies hammered at 10k, so roughly 13k with fees.
Side point, but surely if someone was selling privately on this forum they would get 10k or more for one of these without having to pay fees? Not sure auction is the way to go with the lower-priced prints atm but guess depends what commission the house is taking.

Wanted: Banksy with COA (budget ~ยฃ10k), by Love Is In The Air on May 8, 2020 12:15:44 GMT 1, Hi Scott,
Would also recommend looking here:
www.banksy-value.com/index.php#Database
Not my website but I find it useful/interesting source of data. Has past auction results for Banksy and future ones listed. Will give you a good idea what you might be able to buy and also perhaps stop you overpaying if you go the auction route.
Good luck with the purchase!

Where is Antony Micallef going with this?, by Love Is In The Air on May 6, 2020 16:13:52 GMT 1, I find some of the best recent stuff has a Francis Bacon quality to it, so I find it awkwardly beautiful or striking. Not sure if this will make sense to anyone but my 2ps worth. Appreciate it is v different from his early stuff but even then, didn't he do faces in charcoal and some of this stuff is a little like a thick painted version of these? I am definitely an amateur with little knowledge when it comes to Micallef so I am sure someone will put me right... Not Bacon. I've said it before - Ant is a better draughtsman than Bacon. And if you want a painter to compare him with Leon Kossof or Frank Auerbach are better shots. I appreciate your comments and am not familiar with Kossof so will look him up. Bacon is my favourite painter of all time so it was very much meant as a compliment. I can definitely see the Auerbach comparison with some work and that is certainly no bad thing either.
As you have expressed in other posts Guy, he is pushing himself and changing as an artist, I guess the same way we change as people over the decades. Why would he want to paint the same thing or the same way he did 15 years ago?

David Shrigley โข Make Your Mark, by Love Is In The Air on May 1, 2020 21:39:08 GMT 1, Great comments Robo. This is what I come to the forum for. Donโt love the print but I respect your opinion and youโve explained its merits, what it means to you and made me think and look at the print again.
Congrats on the purchase and I also think youโre right that itโs quite normal to love Shrigley and not love every print he sells.

David Shrigley โข Make Your Mark, by Love Is In The Air on May 1, 2020 18:56:57 GMT 1, Like a lot of what this Shrigley fella does, but this to me a real pup? Don't like to use the phrase on here, but don't get it? There was a similar one on the other thread of originals at the Danish gallery but that one I felt was amusing in the wording, this one less so. I knew first few tiers would sell quick but am surprised it has outsold some of the others on the Jealous site...

New David Shrigley originals, by Love Is In The Air on Apr 30, 2020 9:58:53 GMT 1, Gallery in Copenhagen posted on instagram it has new Shrigley original works for 5400 Euros.
Not super cheap but some forum members have been paying a few thousand for his editions so this might be a good option. I've not dealt with this gallery before but I think some of these are fun:

A great art programme , by Love Is In The Air on Apr 29, 2020 9:24:57 GMT 1, Did anyone see 'The Price of Everything' on BBC4 last night? - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000hqmq
A fascinating insight into the art world, and a lot of artists featured mentioned on here. Watched this last night and as John says, fascinating insight.
For those who have watched it I wondered if there was an equivalent to Larry Poons in the Street Art world or maybe even the print world now.....someone who refused to stick to a style appreciated by critics/buyers and refused to keep doing the same thing, only for his popularity(and prices) to wane for a long period?

A great art programme , by Love Is In The Air on Apr 28, 2020 10:57:58 GMT 1, Thanks for posting that John, will have a watch this week at some point for sure.
Most people will have seen these but seeing as they kind of fit in this thread, thought I would mention couple of other art bits of TV online.
Andy Warhol - 7 mins about the Tate Modern exhibition most of us will probably never see now
www.tate.org.uk/whats-on/tate-modern/exhibition/andy-warhol/exhibition-guide
And a Harland Miller video made for his York retrospective. 11 mins and quite interesting about his background
If anyone spots any other art stuff worth watching, please keep sharing the links like John did as plenty of time in the evenings to watch TV atm! Cheers

Harland Miller โข High on Hope Print, by Love Is In The Air on Apr 23, 2020 15:59:56 GMT 1, All they had to do was make it a full-bleed and cut out the tiering nonsense but no! Let's make charity prints that don't sell out due to our antiquated pricing structure, that makes a lot of sense. Bob is blunt, but not often wrong. I seem to remember people were queuing up when this looked like it might start at 8k (10k with 20% discount). Also shows why the charity White Cube print is such a bargain too.
