I did all the research, even go as far as mixing and making the paste to use with japanese hinges. Got scared at the last moment and decided to let the pro's do it. I would always stick with the tried and tested methods, japanese hinges and paste. May leave a small mark in areas on the back of the print but at least it is generally accepted it has been done properly.

Tried it recently on a damaged print that also had two pieces of tape on the edges in board by around 5mm. Checked it the other day and as the product described left no trace. Looked awful when first applying but seems fine now.
Just had a look for the bottle but cant find it. takes a while to work it in.

Well not really.
If you weren't after a float mount, I would think the photo corners would be ok. As you say, there would be no adhesive of any kind touching the print.
Depending on the size and density of the paper however there would be some issue with the paper rippling/sagging possibly on a large print

Edit: Have a bunch of smaller Seen & Dondi pieces I will play around and 'float' with just mylar corners and see if I can live with that look

I think the right pieces can look great floated on a black background. Mfm did two for me like this a while ago.

The Eine looks amazing and is a grail print of mine... one day she will be mine.
I have a picture somewhere of the Trollies coach and was a massive inspiration when choosing black mounts as everything is always on white for some reason. I think when the image has a deckle edge it really looks great set against a dark background.
