What is the best turntable one can buy in the $500+/- range? Something that sounds rather decent, is low maintenance and won't screw up my vinyl. Hard to beat the quality of a good old fashioned Technics 1200 in that price range. |

What is the best turntable one can buy in the $500+/- range? Something that sounds rather decent, is low maintenance and won't screw up my vinyl. Honestly, sound wise, your cartridge (stylus) is much more important than the actual table. To maximise your $ I'd get a lower end used table and spend the rest on a decent cartridge. The table itself will never damage your vinyl and as you will find a good cartridge can cost several times the price of even some of the best turntables. |

Definitely overkill for most but a labor of love.

A hurried version of it appeared in chicago I think though it looked unfinished as though he had to split. It was one of the 3 or 4 time out covers at the time.
