BREXIT and Double VAT, by Masong on Dec 30, 2020 0:36:02 GMT 1, Only if you're a remoaner. Strong and stable! Better out than in! Let the British lion roar! This....
Ukip langage...
we will see how the lion will be when you want to spend summer rentals for the holidays (price of rent for UK residents, triple that at present), or buy houses in France in the sun ... No deal. Europe will not give gifts. Lets wait and see; Already the Erasmus program for students (young people, not like you), are falling apart, this brxit is a disaster, a return to the Middle Ages.
So ask Banksy, you the collector, what he thinks? These nationalist speeches ... tsss
Maybe you should buy yourself a globe or world map Lroy. You might just see that there other places out there than just Europe.

Why saying that ?! You ? Pro Brexit ! I did not know .. Yes there are for the richest, California and surf, for pedophilia or sexual tourism Bangkok and other Asian places, for safari East Africa, to dance la Samba , Brazil 🇧🇷 etc etc . You can afford a travel over the globe ? Good to you. Well we all know that UK people « adorent « South of France and Espana. Anyway it’s not me telling that : some economists and tourism operators etc made studies about the tax difference after Brexit. Ps : I guess borders at Dover and Calais will be with long long queuing at customs. Anyway UK is an island of course. I respect that. But Brexit sounds a bit as Bunker. What’s about Scotland ? What’s about Support Love and help refugees ? Solidarity is the main word, fraternity and liberty too . Anyway wait and see.. We did not destroyed walls to make some new concrete ones floating as love, in the air. I still like UK of course ! And I don’t begin to make politics nor competition. It will be harder and complicated that’s all.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Poster Bob on Dec 30, 2020 0:56:08 GMT 1, Only if you're a remoaner. Strong and stable! Better out than in! Let the British lion roar! The the pound plummeted after the vote, again before the deal, and then recovered slightly and dropped again after the deal. It’s currently 1.1 euros to the pound, about the lowest in history. So saying that EU art is now cheaper is self delusion at best.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by robo on Dec 30, 2020 0:59:01 GMT 1, Guys it’s been fun but I’m going to say good night and leave this thread. Sadly, I have no doubt that the next few years will provide all of the answers we need. Brexit was never about the state of the country, the economy, or the best interests of the people. It was about the valid expression of personal emotions by much of the population and an internal rift in the Conservative party (between the far right and disaster capitalist free marketeers on the one side, and traditional Conservatives on the other) spilling out into a UK culture war. The future of young people in the UK has been brutally sacrificed at the altar of these events.

Lroy most normal people travel around the world to see other cultures, see the sights or maybe just to go on holiday and have fun. Why on earth you would include sex tourism and nonces I’ll never know...

BREXIT and Double VAT, by soupy on Dec 30, 2020 1:53:10 GMT 1, for the layman across the pond ... can someone give me cliffnotes on the changes?
goods > £135 no change to current process... but goods < £135 ... the non-UK seller is now responsible for the VAT? how do the online marketplaces (OMP) come into play?

It was just an example ( traveling, locations ) , because I read a newspaper about that. I never took the plane, I just saw il Switzerland, NL andItaly, I never traveled, too expensive for me.. Anyway as said it was just an example, about taxes will be. Tourism sexual etc.. it was just to show that traveling needs money whatever you do. And it was just a declination, I mean a derivation, asi like to do sometimes. Not taking ersonally this.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Deleted on Dec 30, 2020 10:24:42 GMT 1, What extra paperwork? They'll ship it to the UK. Customs will process it. True. But you can't just stick a print in a cardboard tube and ship it without paperwork. I'm guessing it's the same from EU to UK as it is for UK to EU. Ask any small business in the UK about the huge increase in red tape when shipping to the EU next year. They're pulling their hair out over it all. What extra paperwork? I posted to uk yesterday and asked what is going to change for eu on friday and was told no idea, which was reassuring. I assume its just adding a customs sticker like we do for the rest of the world. It is a worry though on increased costs and I picture french customs playing javelin with any uk tubes. Luckily I buy strong ones! I was going to do a giveaway but might wait to see if its going to cost the winner as well as me.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Javier on Dec 30, 2020 11:24:18 GMT 1, In my case, I usually try to avoid buying from USA. Most of the times you have to pay customs and taxes in cash, which means you have to be at home when the parcel service arrives, or you must go to the parcel service facilities. Even I had to go to the courier yesterday to pay 20€ for a swapped book with someone in the USA, with a declared value of just 50$ And now I’m on holidays, I can do it, but if don’t, i would have to ask a favor to my wife (who already is a bit bored of this things)
So, I’ll have to think twice from now when I buy from the uk, as I did with USA. Because of my time, and because of the extra costs. If I have something in the uk I like, and something I like too somewhere else in Europe, my decision is easy.
And ebayers will suffer the most, as there are always things coming from different countries. No more uk for me if possible, and many Europeans will think the same. Flippers with stock may have a problem
I’m really sorry guys, I love your country and I liked you to be in the Union. But now that you are out, business with you will be annoying and probably more expensive, even with the pound close to the euro

First video turnt around 10 million a year then down to 2 million once Brexit confirmed Prior to Brexit his business was doing well especially with those figures at retirement age Too many people voted before knowing what they would receive as a nation with a trade deal , proposals were not even drafted just statements of migrants draining our nhs and system and more jobs would Magically appear for Uk citizens that swayed many voters Backfired for many people that voted for the wrong reasons

I’m not blaming Brexit at all. I just say that importation is annoying. And now since Brexit, goods from uk are imported
Just commenting the consequences for me after you are leaving the European Union
Don’t Brexiters say the rest of the world is huge? If parcel services here didn’t adapt to a huge world, they won’t do it now just with one more country

Even I had to go to the courier yesterday to pay 20€ for a swapped book with someone in the USA, with a declared value of just 50$ And now I’m on holidays, I can do it, but if don’t, i would have to ask a favor to my wife (who already is a bit bored of this things) So, I’ll have to think twice from now when I buy from the uk, as I did with USA. Because of my time, and because of the extra costs. If I have something in the uk I like, and something I like too somewhere else in Europe, my decision is easy. And ebayers will suffer the most, as there are always things coming from different countries. No more uk for me if possible, and many Europeans will think the same. Flippers with stock may have a problem I’m really sorry guys, I love your country and I liked you to be in the Union. But now that you are out, business with you will be annoying and probably more expensive, even with the pound close to the euro You should probably be complaining to the parcel service about their out of date payment options rather than blaming brexit. Can you explain what you mean by an out of date payment option?

BREXIT and Double VAT, by overend on Dec 30, 2020 12:08:54 GMT 1, So we lost the referendum and got our ass kicked in the General Election so time to stop moaning and get on with things. There will be winners and losers but continuing moaning isn’t going to help or change things. There will be opportunities for those with a can do attitude.
Looking forward to art drops without so much competition, Somerset cider instead of Belgium beer and actual Cheddar farmhouse cheese instead of Camembert. Oh and bent bananas 😉.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by Daylight Robber on Dec 30, 2020 12:24:44 GMT 1, Can you explain what you mean by an out of date payment option? I mean only giving the customer the option to pay fees by cash in person. No option to pay online or over the phone by card.
Gotcha. But without Brexit, there's no need to be paying any of the additional fees. I'd say that's the bigger gripe.

BREXIT and Double VAT, by mojo on Dec 30, 2020 13:06:24 GMT 1, What extra paperwork? They'll ship it to the UK. Customs will process it. I agree. Big, well established galleries will be ok but small independent artists based in Europe will simply start saying "sorry, no shipping to UK". It just wont be worth their while to have to deal with all the extra paperwork and the hassle. Yeah right ...when? UK Customs are currently advertising for 50,000 new staff to train up before the weekend! Carry on waving your tatty little flag Bob, even your very own leader (JRM) has estimated it could take up to 50 years to see a result from leaving the biggest trading block in the world (you know the one that everywhere else in the world is trying to get a deal with). Since him and most of us will be brown bread by then he thinks he'll get away with telling his stupid lies, unless of course it all unravels very soon and the Brexit angry mob go after him.

New customs paperwork will burden UK businesses and individuals with an additional cost of £7 billion a year to process.
It's been over four years and we're still waiting to learn of one single benefit of leaving the EU.
Still, you won... something, apparently. Get over it, brexitbob.
How did I win?
