If you are in the states, I would go bagsunlimited for your flat file sleeves and acid free boards.

Also, for anyone in SoCal that needs a high quality flatfile, I know someone sitting on a goldmine of very nice flatfiles and at most likely once in a lifetime prices. $2k flatfiles for a couple hundie.

Have two of the A1 sized boxes from Preservation Equipment Ltd., and a load of acid free tissue. These fit under the bed nicely.

Just wondering will it be good to store the print with the current shipment packaging? It’s has styrofoam and very likely acid free paper.do we really need to keep print in flat file position or we can just keep the print in stand up position

While tissue paper seems to be something that a lot of people and publishers use, I would recommend glassine. It's of super archival quality, relatively cheap and a little easier to work with (not as flimsy as tissue paper). Art supply stores carry it, but at a slight mark up. You can purchase from packaging suppliers too usually cheaper (Uline, etc.).

Classic sleeves A1 Size or just under, nice and snugg but enough room for different shaped prints.

just bought sleeves from them last week, the uk agent is Jack Sayers Products in Norwich, really helpful company. I would say its worth paying the extra amount for the Classic as opposed to regular sleeve as its far more sturdy /robust.

Goldline A1 portfolio and sleeves are very good quality for the money. Have to check though, as I think they do a cheaper lightweight version as well which might be inferior.

I just keep mine in the box they come in. You need to keep them away from light, and you can store them anyhow... the reinforced edges and silver corners are perfect really hard to damage and each sleeve is lined with a poly sheet, so they're really rugged, very difficult to bend.

An ordinary folio won't give the best protection.

We are fortunate to have moved to a property which has walls.

There’s even a few local companies nearby who make things to put the art in so it can be displayed on the walls.

I’ve generally found that perpendicular walls are best to hang prints on.

I had bookmarked this Baroque Print Storage Portfolio from a previous thread on the topic. Still on my wish list.

But in the meantime I have one large folder made from two corrugated plastic sheets, and another folder made out of two foam core sheets, and cover each print with glassine before packing it away.

Just one thing. A1 (is the size of the folder I have) is a bit smaller than a 24x36 inches, which is quite an standard for big prints. Smaller enough for having to leave that size inside tubes

Sorry was a bit tongue in cheek. Really, a few years ago I made a conscious move away from keeping prints in sleeves/tubes etc as I was getting minimal enjoyment out of keeping my collection that way. Other than a few things recently back from the framers, I now have everything on the walls and get a lot more pleasure from my art this way. Also, it means I (mostly) avoid impulse purchases and end up purchasing things I really like.
