Storing of prints, by tasmannelson on Jan 26, 2021 20:44:52 GMT 1, Baroque movie poster 27โ X 41โ. 20 sleeves fits 40 prints. Approx. 195 usd. Plenty of room for your 36โ X 24โ. Apologies for those that have read this in other threads. Iโm NZ based and itโs very difficult finding anything over A1. My portfolio arrived last week and I am so fricking happy about it I want to share.

Storing of prints, by inefficiency of on Jan 31, 2021 16:19:40 GMT 1, I recently received a DFace Romance print from release. It arrived wrapped in avid free tissue paper secured with I presume acid free tape sandwiched between two large piece of plywood. No current wall space and I havenโt got a portfolio big enough to store this so it will remain flat in original shipping.
Just wondering opinions on storing this upright and not flat cause damage? I think I imagine long term itโs not a great idea. Only flat space is the loft and also imagine thatโs not great due to fluctuations of temperatures. ๐ง๐ค๐ฉ

Storing of prints, by noraml on Jan 31, 2021 16:34:44 GMT 1, Yeah, we get a lot of condensation in our loft.
At a lot of art stores you can get plastic sleeves for prints. I also recommend a product called โdamp ridโ to keep in your home, particularly where you store your art. It sucks up extra moisture in the air. I used to live on the beach and I had to use it regularly to prevent mold.
Edit: you could ask also invest in a flat file cabinet. Itโs used by architects. And I meant damp rid lol

Storing of prints, by inefficiency of on Jan 31, 2021 18:40:34 GMT 1, So loft is out the question. (It was really last last resort anyway as I knew not ideal).
Any ideas on storing this upright for any length of time, my gut is saying gravity will cause issues as itโs only secured to the ply board with tape. The print is way bigger than expected .๐ค

Will it not for safely under a bed or sofa perhaps? That was itโs not exposed to significant fluctuations of temperature but also can stored flat without fear of being trampled on etc.

Yeah so under bed sealed in the plywood would be the go to place but due to the style of frame it wonโt fit either. Think Iโm going to have to find a mate or family that can babysit it for awhile under their bed. Too worried about the upright storage. Thanks for your help. Just needed to throw some ideas around.

Storing of prints, by msaleem1 on Feb 15, 2021 4:33:20 GMT 1, Baroqueโs movie poster portfolio. I am very pleased with the quality and size. It may take a while to arrive but youโll be very happy with it. Comes with 20 sleeves and and acid free divider so 2 prints per sleeve. Recommended.
This might be a stupid question but Iโm about to buy this and Iโm wondering if you can just put a print straight into a sleeve? You donโt need to have tissue between the print and the sleeve? Iโm worried about the print potentially sticking to the polypropylene sleeve and need a sanity check.
Thanks!

Thank you! Fortunately I donโt need it now. Our limited wall space is covered in art we love. Hoping to future-proof

At some point U.K. framers May reopen as have plenty of wall space calling out for art Really no set period of time, but a couple months should be fine for most prints. All depends on the paper, inks/paint, acidity levels of the tube or wrapping paper. Thinner papers would bounce back quicker than say 400gsm in a small tube. Thick paint or heavy inks really shouldnโt be rolled at all. Iโve seen a flat packed print with acid burn after, maybe 8 months? But had it been packed properly with acid free materials it shouldโve been fine for years. So thereโs a lot of factors but for an average print I wouldnโt worry if itโs only a couple months.

Storing of prints, by Viennese on Mar 12, 2021 19:24:04 GMT 1, Ok! FINALLY my vertical storage has arrived! First order was lost, the second was put on hold due to the bad weather, but I finally got it! Arrived as a big box, 37 pounds, all flat packed. Itโs cardboard obviously so you have to be careful not to damage it, fold it in the wrong ways/spots and not sit with you knee or hand on it. Instructions are clear-ish. You need a bit of understanding of how boxes work and see it first in your mind. Final result is actually very good and sturdy! Again, itโs not metal, itโs cardboard but itโs a great little solution! I DIYโd some fixings by experience with boxes: a) I taped the corners and edges to reinforce them. B) I will put it on some base (likely ikea open bases - will reference it if you need) and add an additional layer of mdf or other cardboard (just in case). I live by the ocean and on ground floor so I get some floor humidity / mold sometimes. C) some humidity absorbent bags + silverfish repellants. Those little feckers love paper and cardboard. Oh, sixe is 47x34x12 inches for 30x42inches drawings max - There are different and smaller sizes. Edit: I will keep my prints in acid free sleeves & glassine paper. Edit 2: Will the folders need backing? Mmh they are quite sturdy but they might bend a bit. If I see that they bend too much against gravity, I'll add a little foam board at the back to reinforce.
Nice! Thanks a lot for the info! I really like that it is โmovableโ due to it being cardboard and as weird as it might sound: that it doesnโt look like another piece of furniture

Will post pics of quality + review etc.
Still deciding what sleeves to pick up with it though, Selwyn's look great but a bit pricey especially for the nature of a lot of my picks...

Like one of the other posters, I have been focused on getting things that I want to put on my walls. Even then I've racked up a fair bit in the space of 15 months. Wondering whether I should get something to store the odd thing in over time that might not get an immediate frame-up.

I ended up buying a couple of these (843mm x 1200mm) as short term storage for a few prints until I can get them down to MFM. They arrived well packaged three days later (on standard delivery service) and am really pleased with the quality of them. Being able to easily buy them individually is a bonus but keep in mind that VAT needs added at the end and shipping is about ยฃ15 so you may as well order two or more in one go. For two, delivered, I paid ยฃ73.17.

Storing of prints, by timl on May 24, 2021 15:59:58 GMT 1, I hope this works out for you. I had one of these for awhile (I think there are some posts on here somewhere discussing it) but it didnt suit me well long term. I struggled a bit with getting things in and out and ended up with one print getting a bent corner from trying to slide down.
