TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by simonf on Aug 9, 2011 19:41:26 GMT 1, It's a matter of consequences. At the moment, in this country these rioters are getting away with it. If it was your house/car/business that was about to get torched and there were police around, you would hope they would stop it. Thats what we would like our police to do, using sufficient force to get the job done quickly and effectively. But they are not doing that just incase that if the bop a scumbag on the head as he is just about to throw a chair through a window, they are charged with infinging his human rights. When caught, the rioters are likely to get a tiny slap on the wrist and told not to be a naughty boy again. Funnily enough, when I was a kid I was sh1t scared of the police who I was raised to respect, and never had to worry about being baton charged because I wouldn't have been there in the first place. If it means in this instance that to resolve these riots, the police have to weigh in and put a few hundred of the b*stards in hospital (hopefully the nearest one is one of the those they have attacked - so no staff) I personally will be cheering them on. You have to be responsible for your own actions, and when they are malicious, violent and unlawful, the consequences should be a lot more severe than we see at the moment. When 1 tw*t says to another one 'lets go on the rampage' the answer should be 'f**k no, you remember what they did to us last time'.
well they are not saying that in Syria, Libya, Egypt, Bahrain,
...fortunately
So having a police force that legally tortures you, shoots you with snipers, and drives tanks over you, and mutilates you in secret prisons without telling your family. (which happens all of the above countries.. check the amnesty site)
Doesn't stop riots
... I'm sure your sorry to hear that - but it doesn't.

Don't think it's quite the sane thing we are talking about here: this is a bunch of free loaders taking advantage of the situation and a police force that are scared of touching some scrotes who operate beyond the law. They know that because of all the tree huggers and lefties who campaign for the human rights of criminals the police can't so much as grab one of them 'too roughly'. Try telling someone that's just had their business burnt to the ground that we should be glad we don't live in Syria and gauge their reaction. Try telling them that the police have no right to be able to step in and use force to stop these toerags. How can anyone justify throwing a pickaxe or bricks at a police officer who cannot fight back, or say it's ok. It's time these morons realised that this sort if behaviour has consequences, and that they aren't free to do whatever they want.

Britain is a great country - sort it out at home for a minute... and then let's see if it's an issue the whole world really needs to help sort out - I'm guessing the former is not needed...
thinking of you guys and hope all forum members and theirs are all good!

TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by fingerz on Aug 10, 2011 8:17:56 GMT 1, reports of a fair bit of trouble in Manchester , Salford , Liverpool , Gloucestershire
Hundreds of rioters stretched police resources on the streets of Salford and Manchester over the course of Tuesday evening and night. Fire bombs were thrown at shops and looters made off with clothes, electrical items and alcohol. Assistant Chief Constable Garry Shewan of Greater Manchester police said: "Criminals have brought shame in particular on the streets of Salford and Manchester."
• Police in Birmingham are investigating reports that a gun was fired during fresh rioting in the city that saw 80 people arrested. The trouble saw looting and vehicles set alight in Birmingham as well as in West Bromwich and Wolverhampton. However, police said the disorder was not as severe as Monday's looting in Birmingham city centre, which led to 142 arrests and saw 13 people taken to hospital.
• Around 200 missile-throwing youths have gathered in the south Liverpool area of Toxteth causing disorder and damage, Merseyside police said. In the second night of trouble in the city, the force urged all members of the public to avoid the Smithdown Road area while officers deal with the violence.

TOTTENHAM RIOTS, by Layaway Days Art Blog on Aug 11, 2011 12:16:54 GMT 1, Cannot even watch this crap. I'm from Vancouver Canada originally and we had a riot this past June when our hockey team was eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs. I thought that was bad. Was in Dublin (in 2006 I believe) when that riot occurred (my first day in Europe ever) and I thought that was bad.
I just feel sick to my stomach when I see this stuff.
