The Jungle in Calais, by Castle Gallery NI on Sept 8, 2016 19:58:07 GMT 1, After reading this thread again i completely agree! It's been fun boys and girls. Cheers! I see Json is no longer a member. What a very great shame. Good chap. Positive contributions. If you are reading this, I hope you find a way to get in touch. Would like to stay in touch with you. Take care.
Hes a star, one of the best, it was a typical nice gesture of him, to think of others and to bring awareness to those less fortunate, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, people no different to the rest of us. The threads shameful

The Jungle in Calais, by 11 on Sept 8, 2016 21:16:30 GMT 1, Its a great shame to lose someone like Json but an absolute travesty to lose LF as well. Json started this thread to highlight a plight and plead to peoples compassion - not to debate the rights or wrongs of why they are there.
Regardless of the motives of some in Calais there are real people living in atrocious conditions and many do not know any other way out - especially the 650+ minors that have no parents or guardians.
This thread is an absolute disgrace

The Jungle in Calais, by Deleted on Sept 8, 2016 22:46:19 GMT 1, While I hate to see respected members go, if you get this upset by a thread on an internetforum where people simply have views that differ from yours and tell you so in a constructive way, you probably shouldn't be on public forums and/or read, respond to, or create threads about sensitive topics.
Seriously ya'll sound like 11 year olds that discover for the first time that there's something called the internet where people argue and not always agree with everything you want or say.

Well yes I have because people might again get butthurt over it and I still like this forum as a place to discover, talk about, buy and sell art.
IMHO this whole thread should just be deleted as it serves no purpose on an art forum anyway. Just don't expect to post stuff on a public forum and have everyone cheering for you and agreeing with you.
I have a friend that's a truck driver that has to deal with this shit every week. His window was smashed once and he has had numerous other incidents with these 'war refugees'.

The Jungle in Calais, by Lroy on Sept 11, 2016 18:53:57 GMT 1, Pls some one make it stop
I Will try to speak good English this Time. Not Easy to understand. Anyway I read about walls in Calais, as walls in Hungaria and in Trump project between USA and Mexicans.. Walls, walls, and sea between Calais and Diver. Another boat, another wall, another sink. In June, in Strasburg , European capital I've been invited to a great exhibition about refugees in Germany ( some of you spoke before, comparing Calais and Gernany : yes they want to go in other European countries too, English dream is a bit over now, they know difficulties to go there, they hear police in the Jungle, and they are looking for a place, a better place to live : we can understand them ! Would not we wish a Better place too ? ) , so, I ve been to see and to meet Eurooeans refugees in a cocktail exhibition by one of the most actual great investigation/politic/photographer in Europe, Herlinde Koelbl ( you can google her name , she was also Merkel photographer but we don't care ) , It was really impressive to see all the long long and dangerous way refugees are taking. Germany , at the contrary of Calais camps etc .. is trying to help refugees from their best and with the heart : they are not animals parked in the zoo. I will show some pics that I ve taken there of refugees looking at the exhibition of own other pics of refugees , about the contrast between this cocktail/party and pics about a refugee eating a sandwich, kids playing with a yellow balloon ( not a red ) and seeming happy with that, school for refugees , adults and kids , and we can reckon it now : if we want to care , we will and it won't be so much expensive dispenses that some are saying here. Just take care about refugees, don't forget, and help, and you will see, your vision and mind will change about .. Now let's play !

The Jungle in Calais, by curiousgeorge on Sept 13, 2016 1:33:43 GMT 1, The question to ask is what do you suggest as the solution? Where have the people come from and were are they wanting to go? And why? Do they need temporary help just while they have conflict in their home country or are they migrating permanently. Im sure everyone wants to help, but questions need to be asked and a good strong sustainable solution put into practice with UN help. Have you actually ANY idea what would happen to our own vital services if closed the borders and chucked the migrants out? SeriouslyโฆAre you actually trolling for fun or do have any ideas what you are actually talking about??
Solutions?? How about taking a real close look at the arms industry and hoops they jump through to make revenue from countries with arms embargoes in place??
I expected more from you (I'm assuming you've had plenty of experience with the NHS and the wonderful staff)?

The Jungle in Calais, by Deleted on Sept 22, 2016 19:02:21 GMT 1, Some disgraceful posts from disgraceful people.
Banksy is among the 'famous' people to raise awareness on these refugees. And you would think that this forum and his inhabitants share Banksy's ideas and interests. People tend to follow a leader. We are talking about the man who brought street art to the next level whilst raising a lot of awareness on subjects of his interest and help the less fortunate.
It seems now that some of the fortunate on this forum leave the less fortunate in the dirt.
Bad form!
And in addition i would like to point out that it is obvious that some people on this forum try to derail the thread by discussing solutions of the problem instead of the actual point which is creating awareness on the matter and help these people. Besides the 'derailers' you also have the ignorant and flat out dumb people who (i assume) will spat on my post and reply by telling me to fuck off and add nothing of any importance to the thread at all.

You made your views on this refugees problem very clear. All fine, but legal. Damn man, this thread isn't about your terms on when to aid them. It is about getting them the aid they need right now.
And please, don't act like it is all fine and dandy. Have you read the thread? Some clearly suggest not to help them, some only like to discuss the problem and cry about solutions instead of actually helping. And then you even have the people suggesting straight out right wing facist 'solutions' to the 'problem'.
Again : Disgraceful! People with those kind of idea's should only post in the flipping-art-threads and the is-this-a-good-investment-threads.

The Jungle in Calais, by curiousgeorge on Sept 22, 2016 23:44:03 GMT 1, Right wing ignorant English people complaining about what happens in other countries...
Jtoy you are a complete and utter mug, you've ripped the back out of Banksy for years while lining your pockets as and when the opportunity presents itself off the back of his work. That really does make you a muggy remora fish.
People like you make me ashamed to be British

The Jungle in Calais, by Deleted on Sept 23, 2016 7:26:09 GMT 1, Why the hell did you sign up to an art forum just to post some random left wing political bs. Jezus. Aha! One down;
"Besides the 'derailers' you also have the ignorant and flat out dumb people who (i assume) will spat on my post and reply by telling me to f**k off and add nothing of any importance to the thread at all."
And i will answer your question; I have been a long time reader of this forum. I couldn't help myself but reading this thread was so embarrassing that i had to share my views on the matter. You are clearly not capable to post messages on a public forum without supervision. Your views have nothing to do with the subject of the thread and most of you past post involved in buying art and/or lowballing sellers. You clearly are not here for the art, you are here for the money. And i felt the urge to make that clear, as you dodge all comments and questions.
Why are you even interested in art by someone who clearly isn't in the same political corner. You admire art by someone who clearly does want to help the refugees and less fortunate. Why do you think Banksy dismantled Dismaland and used the wood etc to create shelters for migrants at The Jungle in Calais? Why did he go to Gaza? etc etc.
I can easily imagine him hating people like you. Enjoy your art now!
Why don't you deal your art and leave the grown ups to do the talking from now on? Stop now, before you make a fool out of yourself even more.
-xxx- Lots of Love hate!
