The Jungle in Calais, by Fะฏ on Sept 23, 2016 8:48:50 GMT 1, So am i right in saying that most posters here want open borders? is that really going to work for you?
Alot of people getting angry but not giving logical answers. I know the procedure for entering the UK as an immigrant first hand and if you dont jump on a lorry, then you are quite well looked after. It takes time but you are not forced to sit in a camp while you wait!
no one is saying not to help them with food and clothing, and if they are then don't tarnish me with that brush as well as im on about it from a different angle.

The Jungle in Calais, by misterx on Sept 23, 2016 9:32:47 GMT 1, If Britain, France, the US and even Australia hadn't bombed Syria/ Afghanistan and Iraq into the Stone Age there wouldn't be this refugee crisis and muslims would be seen as equals and not scum by sooo many...
I don't think anyone has commented on the causes of said crisis, choosing rather to belittle those who are already suffering.
500K killed in Syria, 1 million wounded, half the country displaced....for what? Seriously, for what??
my 2c.Flame away...

The Jungle in Calais, by kaos on Sept 23, 2016 10:48:23 GMT 1, The problem is education, please don't think me condescending. We are all educated by the media and it will print/broadcast what it thinks and knows will sell. We sit on our velvet cushions in our palaces and see the world through the box in the corner of the room. Our larders are packed and stomachs so fat we can hardly move for the gluttony. We couldn't care less that there are millions who haven't eaten for weeks. If these merchants of isolation were to go and meet the people in the 'Jungle' go to the refugee centre in Malta, in Sicily, in Greece and hear first hand their stories, see the refugees as living, breathing human beings who just like us have ambitions and dreams then they would have a different view. And guess what their dreams are not for a Porsche or an Aston Martin not even for a ... you guys should go and speak to a refugee, have an exchange of views and I promise you, your life will be richer for it.

For starters open minds are most important on this subject(else your world becomes pretty narrow)
I personally think it might be a sensible starting point idea for the uk arms industry to stop selling weapons to regimes/militants/whatever. Go read up on arms embargoes and see if you can find how many uk companies flout these laws by opening an office in a different country as a get around...

The Jungle in Calais, by Fะฏ on Sept 23, 2016 11:57:37 GMT 1, What back tracking? Read my comments. if anyone is trolling, it is you
im not interested in helping criminals, but if you know somewhere you can donate food and clothing to those who need it then let me know, otherwise you have no idea where things are going. Ive been doing research and the french are infact feeding and clothing them based on my last comments, so who is to blame there. probably our governement which i did not vote for? Dont assume mate. I believe in doing it the right way and accepting / helping them legally to integrate here. The young males who jump on lorries have no right to anything and can f**k off

Open boarders? Europe has open boarders, UK not. Clearly we don't want them, fair enough. The real question is not about borders or procedures, perhaps drop that subject it's getting old. The actual question is to help people in need.
Then again; You are right in your last sentence. But don't state that no one is saying not to help them with food and clothing. Clearly people do. Don't tarnish me with that brush either then.

How long before guns start appearing in the camps or people getting killed through organised criminals? Even worse, one of the cross channel drivers who are just doing their job getting killed. Did my money go towards that... i hope not.

If you google "donate to refugees" you will find lots of ways to help.

But that is not the subject what is discussed in this particular thread. If that very issue is pointed out to you you turn it into a joke, never addressing the actual point and again start derailing the thread.

The Jungle in Calais, by kaos on Sept 23, 2016 14:38:00 GMT 1, Quote of the week. The world we live in today. You are an absolute joke. Derailing the issue from the actual disaster unfolding not far from us. Just for a laugh and a troll? I feel sorry for you and everyone around you. #block Guys please, nothing ever got resolved through antagonism and conflict.
Who - I love your passion and empathy you have for those in need but you will never win over those who have opposing opinions by just disagreeing and arguing with them. Help them by giving them the material they may not have seen or read. I am sounding like a teacher and I do not mean to do that. People like you and I and others like us want to help the victims of conflict, we will not help them by creating another.
I sympathise with FR's views because what he/we see in the media is young men standing in the road at Calais blocking it and that frightens us, what the media does not show us is their desperation. We quickly forget all those killed under the wheels of the lorries and Eurostar because the very next report is about fifty young men blocking the road. We blame the refugees for the actions of those who are taking advantage of them, and I include the media in that group.
As I said above in my previous post if we were to see the refugees face to face talk to them we would have a different view.
Quote of the week.

Its not a game. i doubt you even know what was posted. It was an article about them moving everyone into safer container accomodation in paris and calais which is a good thing, no? But you will spin it as them wanting to clear the camps of people. I'm not spinning anything and i know what he posted. #bye

The Jungle in Calais, by Daniel Silk on Sept 25, 2016 0:35:26 GMT 1, I don't understand your post, how is the situation being discussed on this thread related to the NHS? Couldn't help but notice you avoided replying to genuine questions.. You chat nonsense and don't see the connection between the NHS and immigration.Just wow Never has the saying you cannot educate pork been more true Are you suggesting that the NHS is reliant on illegal migrants?
Yes, of course migrants are much needed and very welcome in services like the NHS, but they should be legal and those with the much needed skills should be accepted with equal rights from countries worldwide.
Please try to leave out the insults from your posts in the future.

The Jungle in Calais, by Daniel Silk on Sept 25, 2016 0:41:06 GMT 1, I notice many posts now on threads like this include a few insults targeted personally at those with differing views in an attempt to silence them. All subjects should be able to be discussed sensibly and with respect to all views without any kind of abuse.

The Jungle in Calais, by nex on Sept 25, 2016 1:57:26 GMT 1, Surely the world over we need to deal with migrant processing in a humane, fast process and help those in need get to somewhere where they can lead a productive life? The key is ensuring that countries that can take their fair share, do and we all as the human race accept we need to help those in a worse situation than ourselves.

The Jungle in Calais, by Deleted on Sept 25, 2016 9:46:15 GMT 1, I notice many posts now on threads like this include a few insults targeted personally at those with differing views in an attempt to silence them. All subjects should be able to be discussed sensibly and with respect to all views without any kind of abuse. Hello, and let me start by stating that you are wrong again - No one is silenced -. In fact you and Blanksky (Blank as in white? Fits his thoughts) are the only two people calling for people to be quiet when people don't share the same views as your own. Clearly you and Adolf (i don't know his real name and i don't like his White name so i picked this for now) are mates, but that doesn't make his views and posts acceptable. The manner he talks about this situation is beyond me. He doesn't show respect nor does he share sensible views, just purposely hurtful ones. And i know for a fact that he loves the situation created. If that is alright in your book that would clear things up a lot but would also mean that this forum is in thes**t and it lost it's ability to discuss and enjoy art together. - True Shame! -
In addition i find it strange for someone collecting and admiring art from an artist who clearly does not share Adolfs views. We don't know much about B but he clearly is an artist who tries his best to help the less fortunate and in this case tries to get some attention/help/money/food to the refugees in Calais. Adolf clearly is not and would like to do the exact opposite. Let's not help them and make them have it worse here than home. That will make them leave Calais and seek help elsewhere but not here.
That leaves me with a question - why would he admire an artist who would probably hates his views? - The only reason i can come up with is that he is here for investing his money and trade for profit. And if that is the main reason to be here then bugger off to eBay. He contributes nothing to the forum except uses it to vents his hatred.
If that is not the reason than it is beyond me why he is here.
- I realise i might gone a little overboard (for some) whit the Adolf part, but i take it Blanksky wouldn't mind so no harm in that i also figured. - I said my peace
